White Watson 10mg 325 #853 (Page 8) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI just recieved a new prescription of norco 853 10/325. The last script was yellow and the new ones are white. The pharmacist said that Watson changed the color but the pill is the same, does anyone know if this is accurate?
i wish i could go to another pharmacy it took me MONTHS to find this walgreens who would fill for me and i will get in trouble for something if i go loking to change pharmacies now. i do not have insurance and this really is ridiculous. I emailed walgreens saturday and nobody has got back to me. i callled activas or watson and nobody called me back. What else is there to do?call a lawyer? wTF ive also emailed the fda about this and no response either.
10/325 is as high as norco goes. For now, I'm still getting 10/325 but not Norco and because they aren't as effective, I can take 2 at a time if necessary (or 1 1/2 depending).
I'm still calling independent pharmacies looking for Qualitest (sp?).
Really, your best option at this point since norco are so very messed up is to have your script written for hydrocodone 10/325 - this keeps you from being locked into a certain "brand" or its generic equivalent.
Kr, I agree, the only one I haven't tried is Amneal.
The yellow Watson, was perfect, I have concluded it is greed, they are now using inferior ingredients, and perhaps adjusted the amounts as well, not necessarily even the active ingredients.
I might have to see about a whole different type of pain reliever, something I didn't want to have to do
i just called watson she took down all my info then said all they did was take out the yellow dye BS. then told me maybe i can have my medication switched to another one lol i expllained that it is next to IMPOSSIBLE to have anything filled here in florida. the norco was the ONLY thing that helped my pain and if i go to a stronger med. i wont be able to have it filled. and she mentioned vicodin..but vicodin ONLY comes in 5 mg aand no0 way will my dr have me taking 8 a day of those..this is BS i am so upset its been one thing after another just to get some relief. i have to beg for money to be able to see my dr each month because i do not have insurance and now to have this pain AFter paying $300 its just ridiculous.
I just have to share this with you guys, you all know my story and rants over the new Hydro, well I paid 150 for the brand name Norco which was alot better but still had to take 3 and sometimes 4 for complete relief, and my pharmacist resubmitted a new script when I exchanged i found a couple yellow ones i hid for emergency and i only took two and 30 min later i am pain freethem only, now I'm out till the 26th,
Ok, one thing, Vicodin is NOT only a 5mg tablet, they ate also 7.5mg/500...Vicodin ES is 7.5/750. The drug is called Norfolk when it contains any of the 3 mgs, 5, 7.5, and 10 but only 325mg of acetaminophen.I don't know for sure if they call the 10/500 vicodin or not. The name doesn't matter much as vicodin, Norfolk, Lortab, etc are all hydrocodone & acetaminophen, aka APAP.
Someone mentioned having the doc change rx to hydrocodone but that doesn't matter bc u are going to get whatever the pharmacy has (see drug names above). It all just depends in the mgs of hydro and APAP in regards to what they call them. The most important thing you need to know is 'who is the manufacturer' of the hydros u are getting.
Kr, what do you mean it is impossible to get anything filled in FL? Do you mean anything stronger, such as, or pain medication in general? Why should it be a problem if you have a valid prescription?
I know many have lodged a complaint, however what are they going to do about it and when? It could take months before any changes happen if at all
Christal, i agree about the differences, it is as clear as water.
I MEAN ANY narcotic PERIOD weather it is a valid prescription or not..you havnt had to go through this? where do u live? i heard its happening all over the country. I am in a nonprofit pain group who are trying to get this dea bs to stop so we do not get treated like junkies. I had to go to SEVERAL pharmacies til someone would fill my norco and i am positive anything STRONGER would be impossible. Thanks to the wonderful DEA i wouldnt be surprised if they are behind this BS w this worthless norco. I am trying to find a place who would test it i cant find one, if you can or know of any please let me know asap. I want to send proof that this is bs and then maybe a lawyer?
yes get the generic brand qualitest it has the V script imprinted on it and yes it is yellow. they are now the best generic to purchase
ANYONE KNOW WHERE WE CAN GET THESE PILLS TESTED AT? I HAVE BEEN WAKING UP EARLY WITH EXCRUICIATING BACK PAIN THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE IS THIS WITHDRAWAL??? IF SO THOSE MFERS DIDNT PUT ANY HYDROCODONE IN THESE PILLS IF THEY DID ITS LIKE1 MG OR SOMETHING I TAKE 2 AT A TIME AND FEEL NOTHING! BEFORE IF I TOOK MORE THEN ONE ID BE SICK. there is pharmacutical attorneys eeveryone should contact them just to make sure there is nothing that can be done, i have already contacted a few.
kr-yes, I've been experiencing extreme water retention in my legs and feet. I, too, thought it was from a new RX I started for high blood pressure, but I had taken the BP med in the past and never had that happen.
Has anyone else noticed heartburn type burning in your chest since the change? Headaches? Restlessness? I'm so glad to have found that others notice it's not the same! Some people think it works better for them, but I do not get the same pain relief and am experiencing way too many negative side effects.
I refilled my RX about a week ago, and still the white ones from Walgreens. They said I'm only the third person to complain, I hope others continue to do so as well
Julie, I am not following this correlation of thinking that a recreational abuser of yellow Norco has any bearing when it seems apparent that the manufacturer is now likely using cheaper, inferior ingredients in this new white norco pill?
Granted, like most substances there are those who are not using it for its intended purposes and abusing it, however I don't see that subject is related to this particular problem.
Let's say there are 8 different ingredients that combined make up the medication, if they can source those ingredients from somewhere else for less money, that is probably what has happened. Heck we both new you can go to the grocery store and buy the same type of product where some are of higher quality than the other.
So when Actavis - Watson states all we did was take the yellow dye out, they are technically correct, they are probably not saying that they are obtaining the ingredients from somewhere else, and those ingredients of course are inferior to what they used prior
what I believe is the fact that watson has been pressured by the feds to make it less addictive. while watson, activas, wants the profits, they also do not want the federal government down their throats. or worse, get locked up. watson has made a superior product with the yellow norco AND with soma. and that is evident by those who use it medically and well as those who use recreationally. i can care for my family, work, and enjoy my life. i would like to take a rolled up newspaper to the face of all the self righous pharmacist that tell me there is no difference. OF COURSE THERES A DIFFERENCE, WHY DO YOU THINK WE WANT IT.????
my old doctor told me years ago that this was coming down the pike. he also said that it was time to leave the medical field when the federal government feels they know what is best for his patients...and he has left. look what the head of obamacare just said about the little girl who needed the liver transplant, "some people live, some people die". they dont care that we are in pain. look at the record number of people applying for disability. if i cant have my medication i cant go to work. we are talking about the quality of peoples lives. they dont care about us. I just want to go to work, care for my family and pay my taxes.
BTW if viagra, pravastatin, or hydrochlorathazide or any other commonly prescribed pill gave you a fifteen minute buzz ( yeah thats about it ...15 minutes, has to be an empty stomach too.) and it became a hit on the street with kids who crush it up and snort it , they too would come under the thumb of the DEA.
government needs to stay out of the examining room with my doctor and me.
I had tried the Qualitest V 3601 and while they were certainly far more effective than these new crap watson they did at a lot of times leave me with some of the nasty side effects. It was hit and miss.
I then switched to Amneal IP 110. They are effective, none of the bad side effects, although I did have some nausea on 2 occasions, once likely that I took one on a completely empty stomach. I would say the Amneal is about 75-80% as effective as the old Yellow watson, same goes for the Qualitest. Which means I will have to take a few more than I usually do in a month, and have informed Doctor, to this
As it stands now, this is how I would rank them:
Amneal
Qualitest
Mallinkrodt
And way, way down at the bottom, so much so that to take them does more harm than good is the new White Watson 853, thus dont bother taking these
I hope Actavis sales, fall, fall, fall, they can kiss my a** what they put me through...
Ok, I found my way here because I started the new white Watsons three days ago and I am having horrific side effects. Intense stomach cramping so bad I wanted to go to the hospital, strong fatigue and swimmy headed, very feverish feeling, anxiety... Could these new white pills be causing all these symptoms??? What on earth have they put in them!? I am distraught.
I have been on the white Watson 10 for over 6 weeks, but today I picked up my Qualitest prescription. I discovered that the whites gave me a huge "high' if I ate right after taking them, and the crash was quick and left me lethargic. I don't take my meds to get high, so I didn't find it helpful because I was still experiencing pain. The stomach/digestive problems happened only 2-3 weeks. I only take my meds when I am experiencing pain, with the old yellow Watsons I took as needed, but the whites gave me an achy "flu-like" feeling when it was 7 hours from the last pill. I never fed the achy feeling, but took a lot of Ibuprofen and hot salt baths to get by.
I also like to take 1/2 a tablet a time, but 1/2 white Watson didn't help the sciatic pain. I have already taken my first Qualitest brand and feel much better. Are they as good as the old yellow Watson? No! but they do not have what I consider "narcotic" side effects of the new white Watson. I still have no doubt that the DEA had something to do with the change in formula. The street users like the Old Yellows for the same reason people with legitimate pain do. It reminds me when coke changed the winning formula and made the new coke. Maybe, hopefully, Watson will bring back what their customers want. I am anxious to hear how others are doing and what side effects they have experienced.
These are some of the same side effects I am experiencing and people said "absolutely not" and "all generics are the same". THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME and these side effects are not in our heads!
Things I have experienced:
Diarrhea
Feverish feeling (very hot and sweaty)
Extremely sedated feeling after multiple doses (did not happen before)
Nausea
What could they have put in these pills, that these side effects only happen to some of us?? Do you have any idea?
I care about the side effects and what others are experiencing because I AM experiencing bad side effects and I would like to know if others are also so we can compile these. So come on everyone, speak up.
I'd suggest starting at the beginning of the thread to see what people who've posted here experienced. There's a lot of informative posts - just ignore the stuff that appears as trolling.
How I wish I read all this before I filled my script yesterday! I got the white Norco's at Walgreens and I woke up this morning feeling sickish and in pain. That's when I found this site. I haven't read all the posts yet, but I do plan to call Walgreens and complain, as well as call or write Watson...or whoever bought them out. And I downloaded the FDA med watch form and will send it in. It may not do any good, but I feel like we all have to try. Luckily for me, I have some old Qualitest left. I hadn't used them as much because the yellow Norco's were so much better. The Qulaitest is good to take at night because it makes me sleepy. But I don't want to be this sleepy during the day. And that was the good thing about the yellow Norco brand...it seemed to actually give you energy while taking away your pain. It sure makes you wonder what different ingredients were in those pills that are obviously not in the new white ones. And it's more than just hydrocodone...it has to be a big difference in the fillers too. Very discouraging, frustrating....and maddening!
