What are the reddish orange dots on Watson 3202 vicoden? Are they just for a design or is it another medication in the pill, if so what type of medication is the reddish dots made of?

After going through the thread and seeing everyones comments im going to add a bit of knowledge to some things. I myself struggle with constant pain that makes random days difficult(doesn't matter why because Im not going to compare myself anyone out of respect)that makes occasional days difficult and almost impossible to function at all some times! So, heres why I believe my overall experience may shed some light and hopefully help a few readers. I myself, am a "recovering" addict after having a MAJOR opioid addiction lasting over two years(at the end it was heroine). Anyone taking ANY type of narcotic pain killer for an extended time regardless of its strength can and most likely will lead themselves into a dependence or the drug. Don't think just because you have a prescription for "legal" narcotics that it means its not as bad as illicit street drugs. They can be just as addicting since we all have different chemistry and certain people are more susceptible to getting hooked. Granted what you get off the streets is nasty and not lab tested by professionals so, a lot of time people don't even know what there ingesting let alone how bad it is. I use to be addicted heavily to heroine(using IV and all that) and to be honest, it started with pain pils. Especially Oxy, which is way more addicting than hydrocodone even. Many I believe are justified in needing it but, I also know that a lot of times(addicts and non-addicts)once the pain starts diminishing will continue to request the same script with the same mg or higher. It a bummer how these narcotic pain AND anxiety meds being prescribed get such a hook on people. Ive seen people, lose all there possessions, get arrested, mess up friendships, family, and work because they either couldn't stop or because(and it will with some and its sad) over enough time making the drug top priority above everything and feeling like you can't live without it. The main point is, I ALWAYS urge people to look for alternatives to narcotic pain meds. They should be last resort. Addiction is terrible. Ive been clean over a year now and I still occasionally find it difficult to function along with cravings occasionally. I had a relapse July of 2014. It was bad enough to get rushed to hospital after I was found several hours after I had OD'd (shot up too much). It was a horrible experience to go through. Im blessed to be alive but, I went through some(not so fun) procedures like getting a huge spike-shaped rubber tube crammed down my nose and into my throat(to open my airway), several shots in the stomach(narcan and other medicine), and not being able to wake up or "come out of it" till the next day, almost 24 hours later. They said 5% of my heart was damaged and that i was very lucky to be alive let alone not a vegetable or something. I know its a story involving an obviously more powerful opioid but, people(including myself) have gotten to that point because you eventually build a tolerance to them. Norco, Hydro, Oxy, morphine.....its all addicting. Anyone, can justify there own usage of these meds but, only you know if what you say is fully correct. Suboxen, can help ease withdrawals if you've developed a dependence but, only if its a major dependency(large doses consistently and frequently) because you'll get more hooked on the subs if you start at too high a dose during a "titration schedule" which a doc would put you on to help you get a better handle on quiting/lower the consumption. Even with the Suboxen providing an easier transition, you still have deal with the most important part of getting free of addicting pain meds......WILLPOWER! Plus, if you accidentally go from addiction of pain killers to getting stuck on suboxon then your really in a tricky situation. Like I said, make sure to check EVERY alternative before resorting to narcotic pain-killers. Ive see CBD get mentioned a lot and know a bit about it as well. Its great! It's extracted from Cannabis and has proven to have amazing benefits in its use. I have a tube of it myself. The only side effect or downside is, is that it tastes like crap(but hey stuff thats good for you usually does). Yes, it comes from cannabis but, has had all or most of the THC removed(usually all). It's great for muscle aches, headaches, racing thoughts, stress, anxiety, sleep, and even seizures.(ex. read the story about the little girl who had 3000+ seizures very month and once she began taking CBD regularly, the episodes diminished dramatically to her only having a few every month, or another where a teen had a cancerous tumor in her brain and and rather than proceed with chemo-therapy she opted to take CBD and the doctors were amazed to see it shrink more on the CT scan tests). I would never wish anyone to experience the pain of accidentally getting addicted(in which California particularly having issues with the increase of people prescribed narcotics getting addicted). I only speak from experience and concern. Weighing out risks vs. benefits can be a difficult decision to make. Especially when it seems like theres no other answer. There are solutions if people are willing to try. Hopefully this info helps and im sorry to those struggling with pain and not knowing what the right decision might be. My heart goes out to all that continue to suffer.

To "Legit User" which I believe has some reasonable complaints yet, has chosen to rant about addicts and apparently accuses them for his issues. Well, im sorry to hear about your arthritis first of all. Many people i know suffer from it and it runs in my bloodline as well so im sure ill be dealing with that sooner or later. I go through occasional seizures and after a snowboard accident years back, I too deal with a lot of pain. However, im confused with your statement though. Granted you have all right to get help and such (physical therapy, etc.) and to be in actual need of medicine that will help but, you never mention other options like tramadol (which works great for pain but, is a non-opioid) You go on about how you can't get opioids because addicts are basically making it harder for you to get them. You seem to have the same attitude addicts have when denied narcotic meds after a visit to the doc. They list off all the OTC meds saying basically "nothing" works in an attempt to get those. Don't call these people freaks. You as far as I know, you could just be one who has a computer and enough will to express his disappointment after getting turned down for addicting pain meds. Plus, kinda funny how you know about what happens when you insufflate a pain pill. I suspect either, you know from experience or googled that info. Don't lie to yourself, your comment is text-book addict mentality. Don't get rapped up in addicting pain meds. It will lead to a life even worse than any arthritis pain you'll ever go through, trust me.

If you have pain PLEASE TRY CBD OIL OR EDIBLE MEDICAL M.J. IT WORKS FOR THE PAIN AND IT HELPS WITH THE WITHDRAWAL. HONEST IT WORKS. Google how to cook with it (I suggest coconut oil\butter as an extracting medium and if you want to buy CBD oil it is legal to purchase on the internet (I use miracle smoke). If you call their customer service, they will help you with the oral oil.

Suboxin can help with withdrawal from opiates.. depending on how your Doc prescribes it to you and how long you take the suboxin, it too can can be rough withdrawal but not as bad as opiate withdrawal. Restless leg, and very very tired, depression are what I had. You have to see a suboxin Doc as not every physician can prescribe it.

I just started the gabapentin 300 and the side effects are terrible!! I have missed two days of work due to nausea and extreme dizziness. I was on hydrocodone 10/325 but because I went to two doctors in the last year, they want to try something else. I'm suspect. So more tests and now 3 pills 3 times a day (which I stopping 2 because of side effects). I may just have to live with pain. I can no longer make plans ahead due to pain I may suffering, I can't drive too far or even be on a plane because I won't be able to stand when I get up. Some quality of life. I went from no pain all day with 4 pills a day. No more than prescribed but due to Pain management new rules, it's a not looking like such a good future. Not being able to play with my grandkids like I was hurts the most.

Could you please give more info on the CBD's. I googled it and don't understand how to order or use it. Is it a vapor oil, pill form, can you just swallow the oil? I'm 64 and willing to try anything. I've got scoliosis, degenerative disc disease and arthritis. Can we talk outside of here? Just had a second surgery to fuse a couple of vertebra. Been on percocet, lyrica and norco. The pain pills don't seem to be doing anything. Please help.

Tried the gabapentin and could not deal with the side effects, that might have been a year ago. Norco 10 mgs really didn't do anything excpt make me so tired i was in bed all the time, not sleeping, just fatigued. Had a PM DR appointment last Wednesday and had a really emotional talk. He understands what I'm going through and switched my meds. I'm now on oxy 15 mgs IR , 2 to 3 times a day as needed, Lyrica 50 mgs 3 times per day and this new med Duexis 1 time a day. I have not felt this good in years. I have a lot of back problems and can finally feel like I'm enjoying life again. I've been seeing my PM DR for a few years now, had a couple of back surgeries, degenerative disc disease, osteo arthritis, and another auto immune disease. I know there are a lot of other people with a whole lot more problems and can relate. I signed up for the tele conference and can't wait . Hearing other peoples problems make me feel a lot better with mine.

I can totally relate to your post. It seems like doctor's around here dont as nth to subscribe anything but Tylenol and when you can't sleep, ride in a car, walk, sit or lay down without your back, hip and leg hurting there's something wrong. But like you said. .. All the pain pill poppers make it almost impossible for someone to get anything that can help. But I can about guarantee those pill poppers get there's

For neropathy take Gabapentin. Non narcotic, non addictive beta blocker I don't take it because of that though, I take it because it works !! Only think that does. Ask your doctor to prescribe it. What do you have to lose. I tried everything else.

I believe the red specks are to keep people from abusing the pill. They are a pebble form when the pill is broken and cause burning in the nasal cavity.

Galapentin made me nauseous. Had to quit. Too make side effects. Made me shake violently. Weird. Hydrocodone is only thing that works without the side effects. Currently taking nothing. Quit all doctors because they only worry about losing their license and not your condition. Pain is excruciating but some days better than others.

I have been flagged. I live in the State of California. So if I go to any other doc than my Suboxone clinic they won't give me anything. I was on Methadone, and it wasn't helping. I have severe Crohns disease and IBS. I also have arthritis in my left hip. Well after a few dirty drug panels they cut me off for months. I was homeless and sick as a dog. After some time they put me on Suboxone 8mg once a day. I gained trust with my current pain doctor who is also my primary. She increased it to twice a day for me when I needed it. If I get a an acute injury she will prescribe me Morphine after 3 years of clean drug panels. However I am still flagged. Suboxone works. When I have flare ups I need something stronger, but I can find them. Its hard. Try Suboxone. Good Luck
