I am still suffering with joint pain and I have been off the horrible vii since august. I am still using prednisone to keep inflammation under control and pain management for the pain. This is awful and I wish I could get this med taken off the market! This has been a year long of excruciating pain and misery.

It is being prescribed heavily because it is fairly new and doctors are getting tons of FREE samples of the crap. I have even seen where for no reason whatsoever a patient was taken OFF of something that was working fine and given this crap.

I had such a horrific experience with this medication that I will be forever terrified of taking meds, which I CANNOT go without due to severe bouts with depression. Once I got this stuff out of my system I had a physician that was very sympathetic about my absolute terror of taking pills again. He now has me on a regime that is working extremely well...Viibryd is the devil.

This medication kicked my butt after approx. 5 months of use. If anything it increased my depression! Major joint pain, especially in my knees. Stomach pain and constant diarrhea. Ring in my ears. I did not ecperience the "brain zaps", thank goodness. I totally freaked out on this medication and just stopped taking it about three weeks ago. The first week and a half I had very few withdrawal symptoms,. My joint pain continues and the ringing in my ears continues. I am hopeful these symptoms will stop, as after being on antidepressants for 20 years I am afraid to take anthing!

That's what this drug did to me. I will literally terrorized by it...I was hospitalized with severe depression after going off this crap and when my doctor started talking about medications I just lost it...it scared me to death. I have NEVER been afraid to take medication.....worst experience ever. This stuff should be removed from the market.

How long, if at all, did it take those of you speaking of debilitating hip pain for the pain to go away or ease up?

I now take a minimum dosage of Seroquel and Zoloft, both in generic form. For anxiety I take a very mild drug called Vistaril, not much more than a Benadryl. But I feel very evened-out now, emotionally--Seroquel is three times a day and at times makes me a bit drowsy but not terribly.

I wish I knew it's been since August and I am still in pain. I can't work or do things that I was able to do before. I wish there was a way I could do something to get the viibryd taken off the market and have them pay for what they have done to me and my family. ;(

There are SO many of these stories on this site, and I am sure there are many more all over the internet. It is without a doubt the worst medication I have ever been on....too many complaints and lawyers love drug cases.

My understanding is as long as company lists side effects they aren't liable. If Anyone knows differently let me know. I would most definitely want to hold them responsible for this misery.

The drug company certainly does not list the side effects people are having from this drug. The FDA would have never let them release it.

Honestly, this drug has been very helpful for me. I started taking it in late August of 2013 and have been taking 40mg since ramping up from the starter pack. Before starting the drug, I was extremely depressed, had withdrew socially from all my friends, had no energy to speak of, and sporadically dealt with thoughts of suicide. I have been on and off several anti-depressants over the last three years or so, including Wellbutrin, Zoloft, Lexapro, and Effexor, and I have to say this is the one that's made me feel like, well, myself again. Effexor made me extremely manic, and the rest didn't seem to help me at all. With Viibryd, I'm pretty level headed. The side effects I've experienced have been pretty standard... some minor GI issues, crazy dreams, oh and it takes forever to get off, which isn't always a bad thing. The worst part I'd say is missing a dose. If I miss by more than a couple hours I feel like I've been ran over by a bus, but so long as I remember, all is well.

Have been on viibryd for 6 months and have weaned myself off. Have been off for only 3 days and my blood pressure has dropped where it was before starting viibryd. Have lost alot of hair and have jaw pain and have alot of weird dreams and sleep alot. Hope things improve with time. Awful medicine. I'm glad it works for some, but be careful. I'm putting my life in GOD's hands where it belongs.
