I was given a script for pain when I had hip surgery. I got the pills (long white M368) but I have never used them. I was wondering if they were good for any type of pain? I took them in the hospital and I know that they worked. ## This is a generic perscription for vicodin. I have had these becasue my insurance won't pay for the real ones. Be careful with taking this medication. the 7.5 is the amount of real meadication, the 500mg is the amount of asprin or regualar pain reliever. Vicodin does not contain Oxycodone, the narcotic in it is Hydrocodone. This tablet contains 5mgs of it and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. I have been takin vicodin for my back for about 6 months now but I only take 2 a day, maybe 3 bc they are xs, but also bc Im afraid to take more than that do to what wld happen if I didnt take them nemore...sumtimes the pain is so bad that I have to take 2 at a time...they seem to last the full 6 hrs for me which cld be a good thing...I have siatica and kidney stones so my pain varies from day to day...I would at sum point, like to get off of them for good and dont know if I shld ween myslf off myslf and do the withdrawals myslf or shld I tlk to my Dr and see if there is sumthin to take the edge off while Im withdrawing...Im concerned b/c Im a mom and want to start a bigger family and cant take these for the rest of my life....neone with ne info or xperience on withdrawls I wld really a...

They are taught to view it as drug seeking behavior. Additionally, since the doctor is the one with the medical degree, they usually expect to be the one suggesting what medication you should try. Any doctor can prescribe Vicodin, but due to the new regulations and government reporting requirements they have to be very careful about doing so. What has your doctor suggested to treat your pain other than the Ibuprofen?

is vicodin be taken off the market in January 2014 ## Hi Tommie, From what I've read, the only thing that's changing as of 2014 is the amount of Acetaminophen that they put into those types of medications (i.e. Norco, Vicodin, Percocet, etc..) The new maximum allowed dose is supposed to be 325mgs, due to an increased risk of liver toxicity. In my opinion, if something is really that toxic to your liver, we probably shouldn't be taking it anyways in any quantity. There are plenty of other anti-inflammatory options on the market (both natural and prescription) that are considered to be much safer than Acetaminophen in that regard. There will still be medications available that contain Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, they will just only contain 325mgs of Acetaminophen as a maximum per dose. The FDA requested that this change be made due to the risks of liver damage or failure that can occur with long-term use of high amounts, as well as the risk of overdose. BOTH PILES ARE OBLONG , WHITE ONE HAS WATSON 387 ON ONE SIDE AND ONE HAS M 360 ON ONE SIDE. My VA docs had me on HYDROS for 9 years 7.5 they said they didnt have 10mg. My girlfriend was addicted to vicodin and had an expensive habit. She has been clean for 8mos now, and i occasionally drug test her with an otc test from walgreens. Has this happened to anyone else. I live in Florida, I take Vicodin 10/325. My Rhumatologist prescribes it as follows: take 1 tablet by mouth every 4 to 6 hours or 2 every six hours as needed. Max use for 30 days supply. It was filled on Aug. 30, 2013. I took my new prescription to the pharmacy on Sept. 25 knowing most likely I would have to wait a couple more days to fill. Instead I'm told their were new forms the dea was requiring be completed for high frequency customers. Another pharmacist told me it had to do with the amout of Tylenol in the pill, and was given another answer from someone else. That leads me to suspect that it may be something available over the counter. Where was it found? Some over the counter products are regional, so that may help to narrow it down.
