Good day I am a 45 year old women who is overweight and no matter what I have tried cannot loose the weight.over the past several weeks I have had severe gastritis and acid reflux. I vomit most of the time but only bile. I am currently taking Stillen andomniflux 20 only to find that the Stillen makes my symptoms worse, it feels like I have a rock stuck between my upper stomach and chest cavity. Please any advice will help cannot go to a doctor as I cannot afford it and am not on a medical aid. ## Have you tried take any antacids? My platelet counts have been jumping down very fast at times lately, then going back up - so far. Has anyone had experience with low platelets when taking pantoprazole or another PPI? If so, how did it behave over time? So far mine are not dangerously low, but I'm nervous. ## Pantoprazole has been known to cause that in some people that take it, as a side effect, according to FDA reports, though it isn't common. Other side effects may include nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, and headache. Are you on any other medications? Have they considered any other reasons for this to be occurring?

I have had a chronic ulcer for many years and am taking stomach medicine like pantoprazole, but still have not been cured. The day before yesterday my Dr advise me to take Pantop HP Kit. I lost my sense of taste a few weeks ago. Mostly sweets. It comes back sometimes but always goes back out. I also have a sore throat and phlegm. Smell appears fine. The doctor thinks I may have GERD because of the throat issues and I do burp a lot. When I do burp there is no taste to it like heartburn but he says that there doesn't have to be. I took my first pill today and today was a decent tasting day. Within four hours of taking the pill my taste was gone again. I how this is a coincidence. I had tried 75 mg of Zantac before and didn't see a difference either way. Could taking the Tecta be making my taste worse if my issue is in fact not gerd? Also can it cause constipation? I have been taking pantoprazole 40mg for almost 3 months now and while it helped my abdominal pain after 1 month of use the symptoms are now returning in a milder form. I experience sharp pain in my upper left side ( stomach area), gas and hunger pains that are normally relieved by eating. Lately, the discomfort can be felt on the right side slightly also and in my left side and back. What is going on? I have ulcers that are not healing and my MD prescribed Carafate but I broke out with severe hives. Is there any alternative? ## Hello eleni, There are alternatives out there but it is unwise for me, or anyone on the internet, to recommend you take any type of medication especially when you had an allergic reaction to a previous brand of this type. I recommend contacting your doctor to see if they can determine what you were allergic to and see if they need to bloodwork to determine what the best route to take is next.
