I have been using daflon 500 mg since March 25th 4 tablets twice a daily to cure hemorrhoids and I am feeling much better now but it seems I should continue using this medicine for complete cure. I am wondering for how long I should use it. Thanks for your reply ## Hello, I am working on Sucralfate. Anyone with similar interest? ## Daflon is actually a supplement given to help with such conditions, it is not, however, a medication. As such, there is no harm in its use, as long as you are not taking far too much and only your doctor could really advise you as to whether or not you should continue to use it for them. What has your doctor suggested? As to the Sucralfate, we do have a page with some information here: Are there any questions? ## medicine DAFLON 500 mg, is what for? and what ...
45 REPLIES Updated in SucralfateHow long do the side effects (such as vomiting) last? My husband just started taking this drug and is feeling sick. ## Typically, according to the U.S. FDA, side effects may last about 4 to 5 weeks, until one becomes used to the medication. He may also experience dizziness, headache stomach pain, and flatulence. How is he feeling, now? Has there been any change? Is he on any other medications? ## After only one tablet of Lansoprazole, within a half hour I experienced serious anaphylaxis. It took years for me to find out that Polyethylene Glycol which it contains is a laxative for someone with malabsorption problems; a definite no no. I check every medication for it now. Even Pfizer and Moderna vaccines contain it, so doctors wouldn't give me those. I had Astrazeneca without any prob...
2 REPLIES Updated in LansoprazoleStats: Male, 33. Bigger guy, 6'2 265. Gallbladder removed in 2007. Other conditions include sleep apnea/social anxiety, some neck and shoulder tension from a lot of computer work. Otherwise decent health overall. Hello to anyone who thinks they can help!! I have been on 30mg Lansoprazole for the last 3-4 years (prescribed) because I had my gallbladder removed in 2007 and had a slew of stomach issues for the first 5 or so years since the surgery, most of which was caused by increased acid. Lans was a godsend drug at first, but over time I started noticing that it seemed to sometimes make me feel weird or give me an upset stomach. Over the last few months I have really been improving my diet and eating better and noticed I was getting less and less acid and indigestion. Because my ins...
5 REPLIES Updated in LansoprazoleI've been taking Tecta for more than one year, have been experiencing weight gain, bloating, sugar cravings, and having hip pain. Also, my overactive bladder seems to have worsened. I didn't have any problems when taking Zantac, but was switched by my doctor to Tecta. Can this medication be stopped abruptly, or will I need to taper off it? ## Always taper off ... I know someone who was told by his family doc to cut his pills in half for a week and take half the dose before stopping completely. ## Joyce, Tecta contains the active ingredient Pantoprazole, it is a proton pump inhibitor that helps reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach, to treat conditions such as heartburn, GERD, ulcers, and gastritis. Usually, there is no need to taper, but when you stop you may experie...

My son is working overseas in China and I just want to know if you could please assist me. Could you please tell me if there is something in China that's the same as Altosec 20 that he can get there at the doctor, that will help? He's got a subscription for Altosec for 6 months, but I just want to know if anybody can tell me what medication he can get there that will be the same? It is urgent. ## Hello, Rochelle! How are you and your son? Altosec contains the active ingredient Omeprazole, it is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to help treat conditions such as GERD, heartburn, ulcers, and gastritis. 1 REPLY Updated in OmeprazoleI have dental pain due to what the dentist thinks is a dying nerve. I was prescribed Myprodol, but I have previoulsy had a stomach ulcer and I am reluctant to take it. My appointment with the endodontist is only in 2 days. Is there an alternative to Myprodol with the same anti-inflammatory proerties and pain relief, that will not be harmful in terms of stomach acid production? ## what is the alternative drug of myprodol ? ## Myprodol is listed as containing a combination of Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, and Codeine, it is used to alleviate moderate to severe pain. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. 2 REPLIES Updated in AcetaminophenCan I drink milk immediately after I take sucralfate with water? Also, can I take a probiotic with sucralfate? ## Can I take probiotics with sucralfate 1gm 3x a day ## Hello Vince, According to the manufacturer's directions Sucralfate is to be taken on an empty stomach with a glass of water so the body can properly absorb the medication. This would be the appropriate way to take the medication unless your doctor has given you different instructions. Reportedly it is safe to consume food and beverages 30 minutes after or 1 hour before taking this medication. I was unable to find any interactions listed between Sucralfate and probiotics but please be mindful that when preparing to mix any type of medications it is important to consult your doctor and primary care physician. For more i...
3 REPLIES Updated in SucralfateDoes Pantoprazole manufactured by Aurobindo contain any gluten? ## It appears that both the 20 mg (NDC 65862-559) and 40 mg (NDC 65862-560) tablets contain the same inactive ingredients: - Calcium Stearate - Crospovidone - Ferric Oxide Yellow - Hydroxypropyl Cellulose - Hypromellose 2910 (3 Mpa.s) - Mannitol - Methacrylic Acid - Ethyl Acrylate Copolymer (1:1) Type a - Sodium Carbonate - Triethyl Citrate - Ammonia - Ferrosoferric Oxide - Ferric Oxide Red - Isopropyl Alcohol - Butyl Alcohol - Propylene Glycol - Shellac As such, they should not be problematic for people with gluten sensitivity unless there was cross-contamination during the manufacturing process. 4 REPLIES Updated in PantoprazoleWhile I was pregnant I was prescribed to take ranitidine for heartburn. After my child was born I took a urine test that came up negative. Cps sent these sample off and said I tested positive for meth. I submitted to a hair test on my child and a nail test on myself. The results were positive for meth. The Metabolites were very low in both of us but the amphetimine levels were high, but I had ephedrine during the c section. Will ranitidine cause a false positive in a hair test and where is the documented proof? They have taken my newborn away from me its five days now without touching or seeing her. I am desperate to get my baby back. If a doctor responds please be willing to submit documentation in writing. Thank you to anyone with the answer. ## This is terrible!!! And yes zantac does...

3 REPLIES Updated in LansoprazoleCan Lansoprazole be taken by my dog for acid reflux? ## I would NOT give lansoprazole/prevacid to your dog unless a veterinarian says it's ok, I don't think it is safe for them to take!!! However pepcid, also known as famotidine is safe for dogs & cats. My dog takes the 20 mg ones but he is also 90-100lbs. You would give less if your dog is smaller & we use to give a quarter of a tablet to some of our cats but that might have been the 10mg tabs. Call up any local vet in your area- they should be able to give u the correct dosage according to weight. By the way I do NOT give my dog pepcid every day, only a couple times a week & at most every other day (he is on pain meds also) Hope this helped!!! ## On July 31st, 2017 I went to take my dog for his booster shot and ask...

2 REPLIES Updated in CimetidineHi. My daughter has dental surgery tomorrow and her Dr now says she needs to take Pepcid ac or similar "acid blocker" the night before. This surgery was scheduled with no warning. Now with blizzard its dangerous to go out. We have ranitidine 150 mg exp Jan 2012, its now Feb 2014. Is it still effective? Should she take two (300 mg)? There's no way to get fresh OTC meds. We have TUMS that is still good. Thanks! ## I accidentally or say foolishly gave my 3 yr old daughter expired ranitidine syrup as 3 does of 4 ml each. She is having severe stomach pain n bloody mucusy stool from before and I think it worsened it. What to do? Is it severe?
1 REPLY Updated in RanitidineCan Rablet and Sucralfate be taken together? I've been taking Rablet for more than two years with just a gap of a week or two in between. Will I have any side effects? Or can I carry on taking it? ## I have been unable to find any specific information on taking these two medications together. Perhaps your pharmacist or prescribing doctor can help you with this query. Good luck. ## Rablet is reported to contain the active ingredient Rabeprazole. I did not find interactions listed between Rabeprazole and Sucralfate [1]. But as Lesia stated, you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist so that they can cross reference any other medications that you are taking.

6 REPLIES Updated in RanitidineI've had a running stomach for the last 2 years been on different tablets to stop it, went back to the doctor because my stomach is still running ( like yellow water ) he prescribe me pantoprazole 40 tablets since I've been taking this tablets my stomach goes out more than it use to is this normal ## Have you been tested for celiac disease? Protonix is great at treating symptoms, but people with gluten sensitivity need to be properly diagnosed and treated to resolve the symptoms. ## I assume that you're asking if it can cause stomach/abdominal bloating, as a side effect, and if so, then the answer is yes. The FDA also lists it other side effects as possibly including nausea, stomach pain, headache, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?
2 REPLIES Updated in PantoprazoleI found this round peach colored pill (not scored) that looks like an R 750. I do not see anything on the back as it is old and worn down. I was on heartburn meds a year ago. ## There is a tablet with the marking of R150 that matches this description. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. 2 REPLIES Updated in RanitidineAre amneal pantoprazole 20 mg tablets gluten free?
