Tramadol - Unable To Acheive Orgasm (Page 7)

Anyone else experiencing this side effect? Not a normal topic of discussion for me with anyone but my doctor. I found this drug to be very helpful with easing pain, no sedating effect, BUT after taking this medication discovered I was unable to acheive orgasm. It took me a while to figure out it was the Tramadol causing the problem.

You should know then that any narcotics or opiates can cause complications with ejaculating PERIOD DUHHHH!!!

I take tramadol occasioanally for severe athritic pain, and it works marginally for that but better than nothing. However noticed that as a pleasant surprise that it decreases my Libido markedly. Being a male with a strong libido, and married to a wife struggling with Menopause, it has been almost a godsend. On the rare occasion when we do have sex (actually masturbation only, as I have HIV), the only drawback is that I can make her l orgasm with a minute or two, however she cannot make me orgasm at all. I can usually do it within 10 minutes or so, however it never used to take that long and she kind of feels left out. However, at least I don't have to be a constant bother any more, which is nice. And, I don't have to masturbate that often, which is good,

Not a narcotic or opiate. Try serotonin effect.

Yes, it is so strange, orgasm is IMPOSSIBLE for me when on any amount of this.

I also suffer the side effect of urinary retention.

Give up the Tramadol. Even then it could take months to get back.

I wonder what other meds men are taking who are having problems. Maybe it isn't jut the Tramadol, but a combination of meds. I also took Allopurinol for gout and blood pressure meds. A recent report points to Allopurinol causing some ED. I've given up on the Tramadol and the Allopurinol and I'm a lot better off.

Okay so anyone that says tramadol is an opiate or a narcotic is just plain wrong... I have been on it for almost 8 years because I didn't want to be on morphine any longer... I am a 46 year old male and like others I experience delayed ejaculation can be up to 3 hours, very frustrating... After talking with my doc about it for the first time today, not sure why I didn't ask why earlier, he perscibed Buspirone HCL 10mg that he says will counteract the tramecet in my tramadol that is causing the problem... Will have to write again to say if it worked or not... He says to take it 3-4 hours before sex and it should help... Hope so my wife and I have a lot of catching up to do lol...

Yes it effects all emotions! Withdrawals are aweful seek help to wean off and consider asking dr for gabapentin

No, it doesn't 'wear off' when your body is used to it. Sorry folks. I've been on this for years, no orgasm and now no sex drive.

It seems like there are a lot of us both men and women that experience the side effects... Just differently... I myself have no problem with my sex drive, my wife has to beat me off, but the delayed ejaculation hits me hard... Even if masturbating it can take 3-4 hours when it is really bad... I don't have any other side effects from Tramadol but I know others do... My doctor has given me Buspirone to counteract this side effect but I haven't been able to try it yet to see if it works... I am lucky that my wife is very understanding and knows that I have to take tramadol for my back pain... Its either tramadol or go back to about 400mg of morphine a day and I'm never going that route because it is so much worse... What I know is that it helps to sit down and have a very frank discussion with our partners...

I switch off from Tramadol and then I switch about 24 hours before to Percaset. And that usually makes it do-abel. But I would like to try this new stuff that was mentioned.

I have also been on tramadol for quite some time now, and the first thing I realised is that I can not reach early orgasm while on even one pill. As a man who has problems with premature ejaculation, this seems like godsent. I take it hours before sex and can last up to 2hours in a first round. Hippiiee!! :D

Well I have tried the Buspirone and what a difference... I can still take the tramadol and this time I took the Buspirone about 4 hours before and was able to achieve my goal lol... It was nice because while I didn't ejaculate right away I did within the first hour... Going to keep trying it....

be happy you're alive and seek BETTER medical assistance, get better medicine, and you can live a better life with a lot less complications..

I have the complete opposite, takes me longer to pee than to climax. Im on 200srl twice daily duragisc 50 patches and diazepam. Had a great sex life before and would last for ages . Now 2 minutes and im done, lost sex drive too. Any ideas to help.

Tramadol experience. Me too! I am in So. América with women! That know how to treat a man and out of nowhere the same situation developed for me. I was reading about ED and stumbled on a comment stating Tramadol was the culprit responsible for ruining a good evening. However there is a strange twist to the side effect. Tramadol use will decidedly extend your activity with no end in site I.guess the moral to this story is, pick which pleasure you seek, as I never have both with Tramadol. One other comment. My size had gotten larger around the clock. I had no clue why? Until I read the article and then I understood.
