Tramadol - Unable To Acheive Orgasm

Anyone else experiencing this side effect? Not a normal topic of discussion for me with anyone but my doctor. I found this drug to be very helpful with easing pain, no sedating effect, BUT after taking this medication discovered I was unable to acheive orgasm. It took me a while to figure out it was the Tramadol causing the problem.

I am on tramadol every day high dose for years. I can not ejaculate even if have an erection. Once I get off it for a day or 2 then I am able to have an orgasm. Also when on it I have no feeling down there. It feels like the ejaculation wants to happen, but it is being blocked... is there a cure for this?

My experience with Tramadol and orgasms was that the orgasm can get extremely intense and feel like getting an opioid shot. On one or two occassions it felt soo heavily good that I feared my heart could stop beating while somehow fading out of this world. Hard to explain. Be careful with too intense orgams on higher doses of Tramadol. Could release too much serotonin and dopamine.

Yes— same problem but I realized it right away in that it was immediate after starting it that I had the problem , so the cause and effect was pretty easy to pick up on.

I’m a woman! I have the same exact issue, not only does it seem to take forever, the orgasm is less intense than when I’m not taking tramadol.

Hi. I’m in the same boat. I had major back surgery and have been on every drug you can think of. Now I’m weaning myself off them, expect Tramadol. I can still climax but either I can go for 30 minutes or I can go for 3 minutes. I never know how I will perform. Very embarrassing, but all I can say is give your wife/girlfriend great oral sex before you try to perform. Once they achieve orgasm orally it takes the pressure off. This seems to help me a lot.

Yes, I have the same exact reaction. But mine is permanent. From 8 years for Sciatic nerve injury. After surgery and revive is long past. I exited the prescription with no effects. At the time I was having severe marital problems with no sex anyway for a few years after I was injured. The ability of getting an erection or even remote stiffness is rare at best. Not saying I cannot achieve one. Only when I'm totally asleep, when i wake it last a millisecond.

Hello Lisa, Am gonna recommend you get a Watermelon and Lemon. Simply take out the reddish of the watermelon and please make sure some of the whitish is included, put them in a blender and blend it together with the lemon. Make sure u add some of the seeds of the watermelon when blending. Filter it after that and drink it Morning and Evening and Lets See. It helped others.

I just started tramadol last night and decided to research if would cause same side effects as Gabapentin and Cymbalta, which I have taken for 3 yrs. I had the same problem but I think any meds that target pain management will inhibit nerve stimulation, therefore not just pain receptors but also pleasure ones. I stopped taking Gabapentin and Cymbalta for that reason and thought tramadol was different. I guess not. Thanks for posting.

I want to say that for me it has not been temporary and after 6 years it has never got better. I have no sex life as long as I take this. 4 days off and it is back. Barely erect but no ejackulation at all ! I am glad that for some it is temporary.....

I've been on tramadol for over 10 years and have the same problems with sex. But in order to achieve the orgasm goal we have sex about 6 hrs after my last tramadol and then have little trouble getting there. Might give it a try. It works consistently for me. Then afterwards I take another pill.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. There are times I'm fine and others I can wear myself out trying to climax. There are times I avoid my tramadol just because I know that my wife and I are going to have sex regardless of my arthritis pain. I am going to have a testosterone test done on my next Dr visit.

Yes, tramadol does dramatically decrease the desire for sex, and it prevents one from climaxing... but it seems to increase general energy. It also decreases emotional depression.

Hi all. I know this is an old thread but just to say, I too have trouble climaxing after taking tramadol. However, if I don't take it for one day then I am fine. It must be the tramadol. I think you should all go to the Dr and explain how it affects you, then see if anything else can be prescribed.

I am new to tramadol and the first time I took it I started feeling dizzy so I stopped using it immediately, but now i wanna go back. The only reason I wanna take it is for sexual stamina so I think I should try it. Please respond if you have any advice. Naturally I can have sex for 7 hours straight using no drugs. I got natural strength but just want that late erection. So I am gonna watch out for any side effects.

Hi Rowena, I am taking the exact same medications as you. I had a spinal fusion on 4 discs last year and ever since then my sex life sucks. I was a 50 year old guy with a sex drive of a teenager and ever since I have taken these drugs my sex life has decreased. I thought it was me at first till I started doing research. My wife understands at least but it is still very frustrating. Good luck to you. Hopefully you will get your sex drive back too.

You're just self-medicating. Yes, it does what you say it does, but it doesn't change the fact you're self-medicating. No doctor would prescribe tramadol for BPD

Please if you can STOP taking it only take it as needed not all the time. It also causes sleepness night for me but be very careful no doctor tell you about this side affect at all so try that remedy and see what happenes GOOD LUCK

Omg. I have the same issue...This stuff sucks. Agreed it helps tremendously with my back pain but as for sexual performance I have none at all anymore. And prior to tramadol I was a sexaholic . And my wife and I trying to have kids
