Anyone else experiencing this side effect? Not a normal topic of discussion for me with anyone but my doctor. I found this drug to be very helpful with easing pain, no sedating effect, BUT after taking this medication discovered I was unable to acheive orgasm. It took me a while to figure out it was the Tramadol causing the problem.

Absolutely! It terrified me. Unable to cum even with oral sex and was unable cum with masturbation which has only happen to once when I was very drunk.

Tramadol is a very abused drug in Egypt because of this. It certainly does have an effect upon the urinary system and 90% of the people I know who take it to say that it increases their ability to maintain long periods of sexual activity without an orgasm. It also can cause constipation and difficulty in urinating

Tramadol is the culprit. It causes ED. I stopped after taking it for two days and looking up the effects such as withdrawal etc. It is still in my system after being off of it for two days. I decided to deal with the pain instead. It is not alone. Other drugs such as naproxen and cyclobenzaprine have the same effect. They are the three given to me by the docs. I'll deal with the pain instead.

I have been on this drug for only a few days and simply can not climax. As a female that can usually oragasm in 30 seconds, to not be able to at ALL is devastating.

Just an update:

Went to the doc as of late out stopped taking tramadol and went through massive withdrawal. I've never experienced anything like it. Nightmares, shivers, fever, bad thoughts, couldn't sit still., totally mental.

Doc advised weening off which I did and I'm now off it and have been for a week. I only took the drug for approx 5 weeks.

I'm pleased to say, a week later, I'm back to normal. I feel normal and my sex drive is back to its usual self. I'm so glad. Orgasms back to there normal self too woo hoo.

Me personally? I'm never taking tramadol, ever EVER AGAIN!!

Advice for people; DO NOT wait to get off the Tramadol. DO NOT believe the people who say they were 'normal' after a few days off it. I've been off it for years and sex is a lot better but I still have some issues.

Talk to your doctor and find a different pain med.

So glad I just looked this subject up as I have been on Tramadol for a week now for a disc problem and I have completely lost my sex drive and can't keep and an erection nor can I climax !! Was starting to think it was nerve related due to back but it seems coicedental it ties in with ny medication as suffered with back problem for years and never had any issues down there ! Finish the dose then I will be looking for an alternative I think !

Yes. I am a 50 year old male with chronic pain. The tramadol worked great short term for my pain but it absolutely stopped my ability to have an orgasm. After quitting for 3 days sex drive came back.

Yes. I have the same thing going on. I took 400mg a day for a month and decreased to 300 last week. I have a spinal injury.

I have had decreased sex drive.. I can still orgasm but it takes ages. It's like my senses have been dulled.

I stopped taking it totally yesterday I had 100mg at breakfast then 50mg at lunch, then none. Had the worst nightmare, I got up feeling depressed and have had a truly terrible day. I'm hot and cold, flu like, down in the dumps. I feel like s***.

I had no idea this could happen. I wish I had been been prescribed something else for the pain :(

New plan is to gradually ween myself off this crap.

I love this thread!! I have been on tramadol for a while and for about the past year have not been able to reach orgasm, at all!! At first I thought it was some sort of vitamin deficit or nitrous oxide deficit, but have never had problems with erection. I have always been able to satisfy my wife into multiple orgasms. I feel great with sex but the finale just never comes. I think it frustrates my wife more than me as she feels I'm not getting satisfaction from her. I'm going to try to bear some of the pain and come off tramadol somewhat to see if it's the tramadol. So good to hear I'm not the only one!!

No, I think it just has a different effect on guys with premature ejaculation issues. When I researched the topic it surfaced quite a bit as a treatment in rare cases.

Guys, i have suffered from premature ejaculation for 14 years but when i took only 50 mg it relieved my PE. However all those complaining of not being able to perform on tramadol must have taken doses from 100mg and above as this is the effect of high doses.

For my boyfriend and I, Tramadol has saved our sex life!!! I was ready to end it. IF we had sex it was over before I could even get started. Last night he took a few (I thought he was trying to feel high on pain pills) but explained that it was the ONLY thing that helped him, sexually. I called his bluff expecting another disappointment but figured I could at least end it over the pills without embarrassing him but ... He blew my mind!!! All night, for the first time ever, and he stayed HARD the whole time AND he still came (which is a turn on for me....AFTER I come). He says Viagra, Cialis do nothing, only Tramadol works so I am happy!

This drug was just reclassified as a narcotic in the last 1 to 1 1/2 months. I am experiencing ED big time, and it SUX. I can make my wife have all sorts of "O's" but when it's my turn, all of a sudden I'm like a wet noodle!
