Teva Lorazepam Reviews (Page 15)

Updated

I'm seeking insights and reviews on Teva Lorazepam and its comparison with Leading Pharma's version. There's a notable divide in user experiences. Some report Leading Pharma Lorazepam as being less effective or having no effect, possibly due to variations in the active ingredient, leading to side effects or adverse reactions in certain cases.

While there are those who recommend Teva Lorazepam for its efficacy, others find Leading Pharma's version more suitable. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try Teva Lorazepam since it's not available in my area – no local pharmacies dispense it.

My experience with other brands, post the discontinuation of Qualitest, hasn't been successful in finding a comparable alternative. I'm particularly interested in understanding how Teva Lorazepam and Leading Pharma's lorazepam differ in terms of effectiveness and user satisfaction.

If you've had experiences with either or both of these medications, your reviews would be incredibly valuable. Any insights into their efficacy, side effects, or overall satisfaction would greatly help me and others in our decisions.

Re: Richard h (# 280) Expand Referenced Message

Richard that's interesting but you've said countless times you've not experience any differences no matter what your on. Consider yourself fortunate. If I take Leading brand it causes a boat load of troubles. One is snapping at things I normally wouldn't. But after switching back to either Mylan, Aurobindo or brand my mood level balances back out. I've also done this the way I described below putting it in the dixie cup. I could be in a high stressed situation and taking Leading would make it worst. So what I'm saying is my normal personality is quite laid back. And adding something that's not as adequate can cause the troubles many of us have. Again consider yourself fortunate. My suggestion here in the chat would be one of not trying to put a square peg into a hole. Because it seems it's rattled a few feathers in here. I don't think you mean any harm. But with that said you tend to repeat your blessing to be able to take any brand of lorazepam without any problems. That's one awesome deal you have. Any ways I wish you all the very best. Be good, do good and drink plenty of water.

Re: Wilson777 (# 281) Expand Referenced Message

So I should be giving not MY experience but just repeat the complaints of others? One main ingredient that has been omitted from many complaints is that the reason we take lorazepam is for anxiety.........ANXIETY can make one believe things that others do not and vice versa. I gave my experience, I've had panic disorder/anxiety since June of 1967, been through two "clinics" where they practiced cold turkey withdrawal.....you want to experience a drug not working? Do cold turkey, then compare it to the lorazepam you hate the most.....I'll bet you won't think it's so bad!

Richard relax partner. I've been through the cold turkey stuff myself. I think you read more into what I said. I've been reading your story for many years. I'm trying to tell you we get it. It's ruffled some feathers as you've said yourself. If you go back few years you'll see what Henry has told you. Though I don't agree with his placebo theory. Thing is Richard you are blessed that you don't have any troubles with any of the brands you've been on. But I believe you are off on telling the rest of us it's all in our heads. You're right about anxiety. But the truth is many of us are having our anxiety levels increased by these inadequate generics. This medication is given to relieve us from it for the most part. Once upon a time brand name Ativan kept me calm all day long. These generic companies took that away from a lot of us. I hope you can wrap that around your brain. My spouse would tell you to the blind test I've done is like night and day for me and others. You can't fake that stuff. Y'all take care.

"Thing is Richard you are blessed that you don't have any troubles with any of the brands you've been on. But I believe you are off on telling the rest of us it's all in our heads."

Let me make two things clear that perhaps got misconstrued through my lack of writing talent. I've ALWAYS had issues no matter what brand of generic I was taking and that includes Wyeths name brand Ativan I was on from 1983-2010 (before that was valium (1967-1083). No meds ever made my anxiety totally disappear. Benzos would lessen the anxiety in various degree but cessation of panic attacks was never accomplished through meds....it came from encouraging the attacks to come so I could get on with what I was doing....but the daily GAD continued to this day.

Secondly, if you have read my posts that carefully you will note that I have consistently stated that we all react differently to many medications-especially benzos- whether it be our metabolisms, reactions to the fillers, the TYPE of anxiety we have, the percentage of active ingredient (thank you George W for changing the required active ingredient variation from 5% to 5-20%, or -more-importantly- our perception and constant surveillance whether a generic drug is working. From a financial standpoint, do you think any of the generic companies decided "lets make a drug that doesn't work so we can lose money" or does the likelihood lean more towards "it works for most of the people so they don't bother writing into Medschat"?

I'm not saying all generics work the same for everyone but you have to keep trying different brands until you do find one you believe in....the key word here being BELIEVE...it's really important if you understand how and why anxiety is so stubbornly powerful. I do notice a similarity in posts complaining about their current generic....people loved the generic they were on originally but it stopped being manufactured. If this original brand was all the same for everyone it would be a valid point. But some say the only brand that worked for them was Watson, others Mylan, Aurobino, Actavis, etc. - some brands listed that worked also appear in lists that didn't work.

And as one or more wise souls mentioned.....if a generic TRULY isn't working for you......your body lets you know in no uncertain terms....there is utterly no doubt its not working (on multiple occasions while my mind was focused on work I've taken a baby aspirin thinking it was ativan ....in two/three hours there is utterly no doubt.

Re: Wilson777 (# 284) Expand Referenced Message

So, here’s my opinion for what it’s worth. I’ve been on Lorazepam for over 20 years and have probably tried most. Until about 3 years ago, I honestly didn’t pay attention to the mfgr. Since the past two years there has been a carousel of availability and mfgr issues. Went from Watson to Actavis to Leading to Aurobindo. When I received Leading for the first time I was very anxious, had read some horrible things and sure enough, it didn’t seem to be very effective, but I had no alternative. After about a week, things got a little better. Next script I got Aurobindo and for a few days had an adjustment period, but is now fine. So, my point is twofold: I truly believe that the quality of these generics has gone down over the past several years.. I also believe that for me personally that a positive mindset, excercise, deep breathing exercises impacts the effectiveness of the medication. There are obviously other factors involved like your personal situation (stress factors, health concerns) that impact your medication.

Re: Richard h (# 289) Expand Referenced Message

i tried to search or it after i read your post i could not find anything but a pharmacist that i know personally that worked with my mom for 15 years told me that it can vary up to 20 percent by law and he said that's why some people perfer one band to another especially when it comes to controlled substances like opioids and benzos

Re: Richard h (# 285) Expand Referenced Message

Richard your trying to preach to the choir sir. Actually your deflecting and looking for validation.

Also blaming George Bush Jr for our current circumstances. Plus you don't like any medication manufactured in India. I'm not going to break down those two comments. I could but I'm just not going to do it. I'm not wasting my time going round robin.

What you said about putting the tablet under your tongue the most of us can taste the difference. At least I can.

If I read what you said about taking a aspirin you can convince your mind you took some lorazepam?

That's the kind of talk you need to be careful about while telling your inner personal feelings out here.

That's the kind of talk that could convince somebody that's not well maybe I can just stop taking my meds all together it's all in my head.

I wasn't trying to attack you in anyways in my first reply to you. You took it personally.

Yes I've read a lot of what you've said out here over the years. Sometimes it's like going to confession when I read your text.

I'm going to hop on with Henry about you seem to have some type of connection to something. Not sure what it is.

The only thing I don't agree with is he thinks we're on a placebo. Henry I get what you feel about that. I just think that it's how each generic is made.

We've just got to be careful what we say out here folks. Hopefully you all understand we're in this boat together. Peace!

Re: BigJoe (# 25) Expand Referenced Message

Leading is terrible and doesn’t work.

Teva is like poison. It doesn’t help me sleep at all. I felt so sick on it that I had to go off it. I previously took Watson/activis. Not sure what people do now that this brand of lorazepam isn’t available. There doesn’t seem to be oversight by the FDA.

Re: Linda (# 293) Expand Referenced Message

you have to remember that the drug companies have averaged 233 million dollars a year to our REPRESENTATIVES in washington, this is one of the gifts the drug companies get, a lame fda which does nothing when it comes to bad medications

Re: Linda (# 293) Expand Referenced Message

Im sorry to hear about your horrid experience. What are you doing in the meantime since you obviously cannot take Teva? Also, A question I have for anyone on this thread is are there still generics available besides Leading and Teva for Lorazepam?

Re: Larry (# 295) Expand Referenced Message

There’s Aurobindo, which I had been taking. Recently switched to Teva and for me it’s been fine, the first few days it had given me a headache, but otherwise effective. Sorry to hear that it’s not effective for some.

i am 16 days into the switch everything is back to normal except i find myself searching for words when talking ......to me the teva felt a lot strong then the watson/actavis pill but my body adjusted about 8 days in......... so it has been smooth ever since other then the word problem which is not a huge deal ..... and i do feel a lot calmer on the teva as well minimal daily anxiety

Re: gsrmike98 (# 297) Expand Referenced Message

Hi,

Can you tell me what issues you had when changing? And what dose and how long you have been on? I just had to switch from Watson/Actavis to Teva, and I have been having awful symptoms. I am very tolerant because I have taken 3 mg per day for almost 30 years--since childhood. I'm already on edge normally but with mental anxiety not physical. This has thrown me into what feels like physical withdrawal. I've had high blood pressure, pulse, not slept, and stopped eating. My mind feels just --I can't describe it--not "covered" like there is something missing--the Ativan, I would guess. When I take it, I feel it work to alleviate the withdrawal symptoms for a very short time and in a very minimal way. My mind is too shaken to think clearly and for very long. I can only write this right after taking the dose. Normally I can write long, creative writing and do normal things. And now I've taken to bed just waiting this out. Normally when I took the Ativan before I didn't notice a difference before or after doses--it was a steady state. This has definitely thrown me into a withdrawal--to the point I had my psychiatrist call in an atypical antipsychotic to try to calm down the agitation. I took the brand name before, which was OK but not as good as Watson (though none were as good as Mylan or Qualitest), but I don't think my insurance will pay for it anymore. I don't know how this could all be in my head, some of it I could see, but not all of the physical symptoms. I don't feel like myself at all. Even right after a dose I'd say I only feel the very edge taken off of these new symptoms. It's very scary knowing this isn't being made anymore. I didn't go into this expecting problems, as I take another med from Teva made at the same plant in the Czech Republic so I thought it would be OK.

Hey guys here's something to think about. The war on opiates took place and for the most part it would seem the government has been successful in curbing use of them. With that said I've been reading that benzos were next on the list to take away from user. Whether from folks like us or those abusing them. So what's the chance that pharmaceutical companies have been asked to make a less quality generic? Maybe they've been asked to dumb down the active ingredient? This thought has been going through my head for many years. Especially after Mylan stop making theirs. I think Mylan for one was getting a bad rep about the other EpiPen. Bought that time they bailed out of making lorazepam. I've mentioned out here over the years that some of the representatives to Mylan said what I just did. They didn't want any more black eyes from government lobbyist telling them were slowly getting rid of benzos. I've heard doctors, Np's and nurses talk about this. I thought they were nuts. Just maybe this is the start of removing this drug. My thoughts keep going back to those that misuse this drug like opiates. Yes I believe companies like Leading aren't making them affected because the cost to make them right is too much. But I think there's a bigger fish in the pan. This is just a thought. Not by any means do I think I'm right. Still could be pharmaceutical companies just don't care about the effectiveness and want to make more money by tanking other companies so they can take over the market. Just a heads up and more two cents worth I guess but by no means do I think I'm right.
