Yes zanax is a benzo and benzos are in drug class of barbituates just like hydros are narcotics and in opiate drug class. Google it says everything you need to know

Xanex is not a barbiturate; it is a benzodiazepine.

Zanex is a barbituate. That is why you tested positive.

Is quetapine a barbiturate... it definitely looks s sedative? I know it is used to control anxiety.

Except due the anesthesia part the rest of mine is exactly the same I take a benzodiazepine and suboxone and tested neg for benzos but positive for barbiturates but I didn't even knew what drugs were barbiturates until they gave me my results and I asked. What is the answer please, this is being held against me from the VA!!!

I keep testing positive on my urine tests for barbiturates and am not using any but I am on Topamax,zantac and doxepin as well as methadone maintenance can someone please tell me why this is happening for I am on probation and do not wan to be violated for something I did not use

my daughter is in methadone program x 3 years. she tested + for barbiturates in random drug test. Denies using. She does use medication for allergies and asthma.

I take Doxepin for sleep but although it is a Tricyclic, it shows up positive for barbituates on the Profile V MedTox drug screen. It should not because it is a entirely different classification of drug but it does.

I have taken a drug test today and tested positive for barbiturates. I take zanex on a regular basis as well as seriquil and suboxone. Recently I was put under anesthesia that took two days to feel normal. I am not sure why the drugs I am taking especially the zanex I took last night did not show in the screen but I am positive for a barbiturate. Is there any reason ?

I know this is old but i tested positive for barbiturates. I have never taken them. Wondering if anything I'm on can produce a false positive.
