Suboxone 8mg/2mg And Roxicodone 30's (Page 5) (Top voted first)

I am currently taking Roxicodone 30's each day. I have suboxone 8mg/2mg to help get off of these. I know the suboxones are the best pill made to help with the withdrawals but I'm wondering if for the firsrt 3 to 5 days when I'm having trouble sleeping and feeling clammy, if i should take like half of a Roxicodone 30 (which i have done in the past), as it helps me to sleep and takes away the clammy feeling? Any other suggestions that you may have? Thanks to anyone answering this for me.

Stop the need. It is hard decision to make, but the longer u wait, the worse it will be. I'm 2 months clean on pills 8 a day plus 4 80s a day as well, and 8 days off subs and I feel about 80 % normal. Do not stay on subbs for more than 3-4 weeks or ur body will be addicted to the subs as well. It's a hard road, but well with the peace of mind. Not having to depend on a drug just to get out of bed, priceless. Also talk to a Dr. About a 4 week taper program. I did 6 weeks but I was not well informed. I hope this helps

pleasehelp, i just started suboxine 8mg, i was taking 3 10mg of perocets a day. i am very dizzy on the suboxine, i thingt 8mg is too much for me since i was onle taking 3 10mg of perks a day for a year to a year and a half. i also take .5 klonopin and 60 mg of cymbolta a day, my dr says it is fine but i read that klonopin and suboxine will kill me, i can't stop thinking about it, it is getting me more anxious than ever. why would my dr say it was okay if it isn;t. what dosage og suboxine do u think i should be starting out with, this is day 3 and i am dizzy, anxious and scared. can i wean off suboxine after a couple of days. sorry i am a narotic and i am getting myself physically and mentally sick, i need some reinsurrance please. kindly respond back a.s.a.p. thank you. i never been on this forum before so i hope this gets to u.

HI Pleasehelp... My question is this. What kind of a Dr will prescribe Suboxone? I am going to a Pain Mgmt Dr and they have me on 15mg oxy 4x a day but I am taking much more than that because your body builds up a tolerance and then you need more and more. Will they make you go into rehab or will a Dr just prescribe Suboxone for you? You are a true angel on here to all of us who have questions. Thank You!!

My primary Dr. prescribed the suboxine for me with no problem. If your doctor won't any nurse that is trained for addiction will. I took 3 percocets a day, they gave me 8mg of suboxine film to take. I just kept in mind that this will be another to wean off. The first day 1 took 1 8mg fil, it mad me so very dizzy, same for day two. On the third day i called my doctor's office explaing how i felt and i was told to take only half, i took a third. The 4th day i didn't take any suboxine to see how i would do, I was fine, still no craving for any percocets. I have'nt taken and suboxine or percocets and this is my 9th day clean and i feel fine, now i have to start working on getting rid of my depression, then smoking. I was told to conquer one at a time and that is what I plan to do. I just want everyone that wants to get off percocets and can't seem to go cold turkey, suboxine is the way to go, if I did it anyone can. Thank you up above and good luck to all of you!

Your stupid and have no compassion, these people, these people have a problem and they are trying to seek help from others that are going through same thing, evidently you have never had a drug problem, because if you did you would know how seroius it is, you are an inconsiderate and everyone gets what they deserve, you'll have yours coming you jerk

I was only on about 60 mg's a day of roxi/oxy/perc and I am on 1 mg a day of sub and works fine started at 2 switched to one real fast and just stayed there and works good for me

Momma,

I'm sorry about your situation. The relapse rate for people that try to do a rapid detox with subs is VERY HIGH. Have you considered going to a sub dr and getting put on them that way. Opiates do a number in our brain and it takes time to heal. Subs allow you to function while that healing takes place. Most insurance cover at least the medication now.

Just a thought. Opiate addiction is tough. Good luck with it. You can beat it.

Im glad to read that you are off the roxys but I am afraid you are in for a rude awakening if and when you try to come off the subs. I started taking opiates in my mid twentys and was soon introduced to roxys. What started as one a day morphed into three a day and two years later I was up to ten a day just to feel normal. I quit cold turkey with the help of my best friend and my husband. Went through about two weeks of severe flu like symptoms including restless legs that prevented me from getting good sleep for a while. What followed was even harder for me, the psychological effects. I had to get used to feeling normal without opiates in my system. My normal wasnt what everyone elses normal was anymore. It was hard. Ive slipped multiple times with other opiates. Never got back up to regular use but still fight the fact that I will forever be addicted to opiates nomatter how long I am off them. Several months ago I slipped up and started doing K8 once a day for a week then switched over to Dilaudid 2s that i would take 4 at a time. The following week when those werent available and I refused to do roxys because of how bad I remembered it was. I then switched to crunching up about 3 Loratab tens a day just to feel "normal" I was afraid that my problem was raising its ugly head again so I had a friend with subs and I bought about forty 8s to get myself off the cycle again. What I found is that the subs were as bad as the roxys. I am only taking an 8 a day but I know that Im about to go through some nasty withdrawals from them. It does help in a way because I turn down Ks because I know the subs are such opiate receptor "pigs" that it is a waste the throw a K on it but that fact still remains that once the subs are out of my system by body is going to want opiates and I will once again have to go through the flu like symptoms and the emotional crap that will follow. I am certainly not a doctor but I will advise you as one addict to another that the only way to get better is to eliminate all your friends and connections to opiates, set your mind to go through the withdrawals. Not just the physical but the mental ones. It will get better over time, each day without an opiate will make u stronger. Always keep in mind though that you will forever be predisposed to be addicted to opiates and take one day at a time. Be proud of yourself for each day,, month and year that passes. Good luck with you journey. Look to family, friends, and in my case god.

I am sorry but I do not read that ALL people talk about is getting high. Most are asking for advise, opinions and help..maybe just to feel that they are not alone and need someone to listen. I am sure it is not a place for people to come and feel ...what if they post something that one may not agree with ...like yourself, will they be attacked or have a negative comment posted that is insulting in tone? I am guessing that you need help as well, you were troubled enough to be here, and even more troubled to post in a negative manner, I hope that that gave you the positve result and feeling that you were looking for when you wrote it.

I know everyone posts how bad suboxone is to get off of, and it is when usng it ong term , butshort term during the first week is your BFF! After taking 30 mg roxi 4-6 X daily I was able to take 8 mg Sub and break it into 1 mg pieces. I would take 1-2 mg th first morning , ten hours after taking my last pill. The next three days were still ugly with the night sweats, however the as soon as I took the suboxone, it subsided. You do have to be very careful not to replace the subs for whaever you are stopping, this is easy to do as it makes you feel so much better. I have detoxed 100% cold turkey from 7 a day ( all of these are Dr prescribed I have a brain disease) and htat was the worst experience, however am glad I endured it and know what to expect. There are so many people on here that do not realize how much you have helped. I myself read them and feel like you wish you could pick up the phone and see how hey are doing, talk about your own progress adn just talk. We all have so much in common after all don't we? Well some of us anyway are positive. I did well, an dhad surgery on my hand on Wednesday with the Dr giving little to no pain meds at all.

Its is not advised nor is it safe to take sub and ANY benzos together. U can and many people love the high u recieve from the combination. However, it is VERY dangerous as you may stop breathing from the coctail. My old doctor used to prescribe both together but 99% of doctors will not do so anymore because of the danger. Be VERY careful if you are going to do so. The "coma" state is probably a good sign not to do so. Keep in mind most accidental overdoses don't occur because of taking too much of a particular drug. It is almost always because of a combination of 2 or more drugs. I have mixed many drugs in the past but it is ill advised to do so. Oxycodone, hydrocodone, suboxone, morphine, fentanyl or any pain killers are not to be mixed with xanax, klonopin, valium or any benzodiazapine. Just some advice that should be greatly considered.

I have been taking Roxys now for about 4-5 years and at one point I was up to 8-10 30mg a day, I unfortunately live in the the worst part of florida that has the biggest problems with these pills. I have been taking Subs on and off for over 2 years now to try and get off the roxys.(we call them blues here) it all depends how many mgs you take a day, if your only at 3 a day one 8/2mg pill or strip will absolutely work. you do not need any more then that, anyone who says otherwise is crazy. I knew people who were shooting up 30-40 even 50 30mg pills a day and they are good with one 8/2 mg sub to stop the withdraws. Pasco county florida is the worst county in the US for theses pills. (where i live) everyone i know is hooked on them, whether they wanted to be or not. Lawyers, doctors and everyday ppl are hooked on them here. along with the scumbags and whores. any type of lifestyle you can think of. its baddd... and very sad. trust me unfortunately i know ALOT about them. doctor shopping is a natural thing for some ppl round here. I can prolly call 10 plus ppl who have them or can get them... subs r the best way to get off of them. But you can get hooked on them as well... taking them for a week will not get you hooked, ive done it. half of these ppl on here just want to get the same high but if your serious about quitting let me know... i'll help you.

This is in response to "pleasehelp" I know you wrote this a really long time ago (a year)...but I need help. I am getting ready to start my subs (strips) on sunday. I have been in a clinic for a long time (3 years) and have been taking opiates for quite a long time. I am medically addicted and I am tired of these opiates running my life day in and day out. I want off and free. My life is a little complicated so I can't go to doc but I do have subs and quite a good amount. I have tried several times to use subs to quit but have struggled due to some of the side effects and always went back to the opiates to just feel normal.

Here are my questions. I want the subs to hopefully one day feel normal again, wake up with out feeling sick, sweaty, clammy and gross. I want to laugh...like a real laugh again where I can "feel" happiness again.

How long after taking subs do you start to feel normal and not have WD symptoms. I have noticed after waiting 24 hours after taking last opiate then take sub I still feel the cold sweats and WD symptoms. I don't understand why. Then honestly after taking subs for oh say 3-5 days sold I STILL feel WD symptoms. I don't understand that. If I have at least a time line like oh after 1 week you will start to feel really good then mentally I can handle it. And not relapse because I can't take the WD and want normal.

I am so beyond committed to quiting. I am to the point where I envy those people on TV that laugh and smile and I say man is that what normal people feel like?? I want that life again.

So how long after starting subs will you start to feel normal?
How long should I take subs before I can safely start to ween off subs and live a clean and normal life with out subs or pills? (I don't want to come off too early)
Also should I start with taking 1 full 8mg sub for the 1st 3 days then may go to 4mg a day for the rest of the time? (I was taking 2 30mg oxycodone daily and 2 30mg ER opana daily for approx 1 year). so not alot...but enough to be very very addicted.

I just cannot find any advise online as to how to start taking subs, how long before I feel normal on subs, and how long I should take subs before starting to ween off as my goal is to be on nothing as quickly as I can.

Other comment, it took me a month before I laughed. It caught me off guard and when I laughed it was a gfenuin laugh that I have not experienced in a long long time. You will know it when it happens, it is a deep down belly laugh. Also, the two times that I have stopped using I became ill with a respatory infection, i spoke to someone else yesterday who said she does the same. also by immodium for the first two weeks and do to be afraid to take it you will need it.Try to sty hydrated. I hd t do all this while going t work I do not have the luxury of laying in bed for aweek until it passes, I am a single mom and have to do ths wihout anyone knowing. Alone is no fun, support is thebest thing, if I can help please let me know

Yes, it will work. A little sub goes along way. I have a Ministry called "Life after methadone with Jesus, and as much as you may want to take more of the sub to get energy or make u feel "normal", don't! it was equally awful coming off the sub as methadone. I hope this helps. But I would def. wait till u feel flu symptoms b4 taking the sub. years ago, I was on oxy and then went to subutex and threw myself into complete and shear hell...I will pray for you all. I am currently taking Suboxone Strips 8mg twice daily. Well they were wrking wonders for me until My doc started to lower my dosage down to 1 8mg film once a day and 1 4 mg strip once a day. now I can't eat, Can't sleep, body aches, puking, and withdrawal symptoms. And from what I've read, its beacuse now im not taking enough of the Suboxone now. I've only been on them for 3 months. and never have heard of any one getting winged off of them in such a short period of time. I can't go about my daily activites cuz i feel like Sh!t now. it sux. what should I do? Can someone please help me and tell me what I should do?! Thanks
