Stopping Belviq
UpdatedI stopped taking Belviq about 5 days ago. I have had a headache since. Before I stopped taking Belviq, I was feeling worse with feeling dizzy or aura like a migraine. I think I passed out because I fell and don't know what happened. I had also been feeling really sluggish. Low blood pressure. I called the doc. She said stop taking Belviq & HCTZ. Blood work normal. Still have a headache. Some dizziness still. What will make this headache go away?

I also stopped taking Belviq on Sunday and since have had headaches, anxiety, racing heart, shaky and irritability. Are you feeling better yet?
Finally feeling somewhat better. Headache is better and last couple days have had sporadic times of lightheadedness. I've also had some strange dreams too.
Sorry to hear about both your experiences coming off Belviq. From the looks of things, you're definitely not alone. There's actually another similar discussion thread here (linked below) suggesting that multiple other patients were also having issues like this when they stopped taking it:

Hard to say if they are rebound effects, withdrawal symptoms, or simply common side effects from whatever amount might still be left in your system.
However, I think one of the best things you can do for your body is to just "take it easy" on yourself until the symptoms begin to subside. Everyday stressors from driving, shopping, work, etc probably take their toll even more when your body is adjusting to not having something it's typically used to.
Have either of you thought of trying various herbal preparations to help alleviate some of the symptoms?

Re: David (# 3)
I stopped taking Belviq 2 days ago and have felt like I was going crazy. Headache, anxiety, chest pain. Thought I was having a heart attack. This is not good, people should be made aware of these side effects before even beginning this. Hope it stops soon!
Re: Rachel (# 4)
Hi Rachel,
I feel the exact same symptoms. I too, was only on it for two months. It’s been about 4 days since I’ve been off of Belviq. I feel very cloudy, dizzy, and unable to focus. How long did your symptoms last? I am hoping this is the worst and last of it.
Any experiences on how long the withdrawal lasts?
Thank you all,
