I am a 60 year old male. I have been taking a compliance survey every 30 days for the last 4 months. Have to do this or doctor will not give prescriptions for that month. Since I started survey am getting at least 6 calls a day trying to sell me other medical products. It is fast becoming very annoying. There is a privacy contract with the survey company. It appears that the survey company has sold at least my name and phone info to someone else. I did not have this problem until I started having to take this survey. Does anyone have a sugestion on how to stop this? I have been taking pain meds since 1996 and am getting worried that all of the new regulations are going to cause me to lose my meds altogether. I took a soma the day before my urine test. Will it show up? Also, I have a script for oxycodone with acetaminophen in it but was out and I took hydrocodone. Will it show up the same as oxycodone? ## Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol, it is a muscle relaxant and, as such, it is not a substance that is tested for on urine drug tests. As to the Hydrocodone, no, there is a very good chance that the test they do will show exactly what you took and they will know it wasn't Oxycodone, due to the different metabolites in your urine. I have been on antidepressants, Cymbalta, Lamictal, Ambien & Klonopin. I'm am currently off ambien now and weaning Klonopin, soon to be off. No complaints. My only trouble with Trazodone is major headaches. I do stress exercises daily for chronic low back pain and surgery for l1 fracture. I've just come off five 10/325 norco to 15 mg ms contin 3 a day. My pain is better but not fully controlled. I'm very aware of addiction and dependence, so the less controlled substance the better. What I'm looking for is advice. Is there a rebate card available for Soma? I have ins. but it's still an expensive co-pay. ## Um I get 90 pills for about $1.92, Soma is very inexpensive, on the Walmart $4.00 list ## I have a pinched nerve in my left shoulder and it goes across and down my back causing my muscle to stand up on my shoulder and it's painful and burns. Soma 350mg helps but my doctor said they couldn't write them anymore. I have tried different muscle relaxers and none work but soma (carisoprodol). I am fighting a case so have been given a temporary bonds man..where I have to take a drug test each time I go to court.....I don't have insurance so take what I can as needed for an injury I have...didn't think about it with it being a script of a family member ...I have court Monday so will have to take a test Monday...I have taken somas for my hip the last few days..but all I have script for is hydrocodone, mobic and Tylenol 3. I take a 8 panel drug test and I was wondering if I took a soma will it show up? I have a rx for it but it is a year old and I never took them. Can anyone help me with the name of a doctor that is not afraid to prescribe soma? I understand my prescription can not cross state line. I have been told by walgreens it has to be a local dr. ## I did not know it has to be a local Doctor as Federal Law should apply. Seems that the State is meddling in places it has no right to be, and we the patients suffer. As for the snorting part, tell her to knock that off as she is wasting her soma. To get the most out of ur soma it can be easily swallowed for around 85-90% BAv. snorting is not always best as it messes up the cilia in ur nose and also shes not getting but maybe 60% if shes lucky so if she has the 350 shes only getting a max of 200mg per pill when she could pop a few and get more out of her medication- Just letting U kno! But don't worry as Im rxed and on 3 350mg somas, and 16mg's subox right now and feel fine. also, if she stoped the subox, the soma would work better alone as it metabolizes into an old school pain med from the 50s and 60s...

I have been on soma's and norco for over 10 years my dr claims he can no longer prescribe the soma because of new Indiana law he cut me off cold turkey it has almost killed me my blood pressure is stroke level now never had high blood pressure before is it true about Indiana rules my pharmacist claims it's not he says it's more paperwork for dr's office what is the truth? ## Perhaps you will need Blood Pressure medicine? Husband has myriad of physical and mental issues, the most debilitating to me is his anxiety and depression. Given the meds he has used already for years, what else could he take that woudnt interfere with what he is taking now? He goes for a psych medication evaluation in two days and starts pain mgmt in two weeks. Any input highly appreciated ## I have been on almost everything for depression. .MDD, Oct and anxiety. Im a disabled person that lives in chronic pain every day. And have sever anxiety & panic attacks , so my doctor told me the DEA has Some more New Rules. Because the DEA knows more about how to treat sick people than a doctor. The new rule in Florida is if you are taking Valium or Xanax you can no longer get SOMA. The DEA has made life hell in Florida DEA is treating pharmacies like Drugs Dealers. Stopping the orders from even making it to the pharmacies. I'm talking about big pharmacies CVS Wallgreens and more. It's so bad you can't even get your Legal prescriptions filled. I am on 2 different meds (soma and Percocet) plus Xanax for extreme panic attacks. The soma is because I have at least two disintegrating discs and bad arthritis in my lower back. the Percocet (which I never even asked for, they just gave it to me) because I have bad arthritis in my knees, my hips my hands and my neck. I asked if there were any over the counter meds to help but because my kidneys are in bad shape I couldn't take anything like advil, ibuprofen or steroids. I took soma tablets over the last couple of days due to car accident. My husband had some as they help with pain. I have a UA in about 2 weeks. How long does it take to get out of your system considering that I took high doses over last week? ## Make sure to ask them to check your liver for toxicity. Of course that is where some of the Miltown will be stored as well. Taking high doses over 2 days is more than the recommended maximum dosage I assume? ## I have never failed lab work in 5 yrs... Have ALWAYS made sure that I didn't take anything for 4 full days.

I have been on Soma for about 2 months but it makes my stomach hurt so badly. Dr. has presribed other things but nothing works as well as the Soma. Does anyone know of a medication (nothing narcotic) that works the same or has the effect as the Soma. Now that I have read the addictive information would like to try something different. I have Fibromyralgia, anxiety, Panic attacks & 5 herniated discs in my back. I have been seeing a pain management doc for 2 years. He has me on Percocet 10mg 4 a day & Soma 325mg 3 a day. I went in yesterday & his nurse practitioner advised me they will no longer write Soma. They are going to put me on Zanaflex. I have taken just about every one out there. They all give me either a fast or irregular heart beat. Soma is the only one I have ever taken that doesn't cause any side effects. I have always taken my Rx as prescribed. Does a drug test show soma and baclofen as the same?...I see a pain mgmt doctor on Wednesday and I don't know if she will do a u/a. I'm out of baclofen right now, but I have a few soma and need to know if I can take them. ## Your Pain Mgmt Dr won't be looking for Soma, he will be looking for street drugs or levels of opiates too high for what he has prescribed (ie:you are taking more than prescribed or using heroin). Soma's like other non-narcotics would have to be tested/looked for specifically for you to be caught.

If you were breastfeeding it might be a concern but Soma is just a muscle relaxer. ## No you should be fine! ## Yes soma will reduce testes size and weight and sperm motility will be reduced ## Yes, but you are speaking about Mouse Testicles In a 13-week toxicology study that did not determine fertility, mouse testes weight and sperm motility were reduced at a dose of 1200 mg/kg/day.

Will Soma help with the muscle spasms associated with bulging discs in the neck? I am currently taking Zanaflex, but am concerned about the side effects caused by this muscle relaxer. ## It may help, but the side effects profile is basically the same, since they are both muscle relaxants. The FDA reports that you may experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. What other side effects are you worried about? Maybe those can be addressed in order to better help you. Can you please post back and clarify?
