There are new effective insomnia meds out there. I like Ambien and Lunesta. Be care full, they are a addictive just like placdidyl. If you want non adictive meds. Of course check with your doc first, Trazadone, Seroquil, Geodon, (most of these are anti psychotic drugs but they do work. And if you don't won't to go those routes ask for benzos.
Updated in Ambienmy husband works third shift and cant sleep well. he doesnt have any drug or alcohol problems but he doesnt have insurance so we dont want to waste our time going to a dr who cant help, ## HI, Jen! Ambien isn't a controlled substance, so any doctor can prescribe it, there are no restrictions on that. However, the issue may be the fact that your husband always works this shift and Ambien is only intended for short term treatment of insomnia, it's not meant to be something that you take for a long, ongoing period of time. Learn more Ambien details here. It causes the risk of some serious side effects, some of which could affect his ability to work, such as the next day hangover like effects, which tend to be very bad. Thus, it likely isn't the best choice for your husband, any...
Im currently taking temazepam everynight because my antidepressent is not letting me sleep! I am in college and want to go out drinking friday night but do not know if I'll be ok since the half life is 20 hours? I just want to make sure I'm safe about everything because Im a huge hypochondriac! ## Hello, Gigi123! How are you? It's generally not a good idea to mix prescription medications with alcohol. It can aggravate the side effects, so you could get more dizzy, drowsy and nauseous than usual. Is there anything else I can help with?
Small, white oval #3 on one side #79 on reverse ## Hello, Alyse! How are you? Is the marking possibly E 79? This tablet contains 0.25mgs of Triazolam, which is a benzodiazepine, but it's most commonly used to treat severe insomnia. Hi, I found that a drug called seroquil ....even though it its a antipsychotic drug, many addictionologists will prescribe it for sleep and it actually works...for me anyway. AND for me it will give me the endless "munchies." My problem is taking it at night for sleep and I have a condition known as GERD that is a problem of food that backs up into the esophagus and causes me to inhale my food into my lungs. For seroquil, they even list on the side effects that it will cause weight gain. Though I have heard from a VERY VERY few that for some it causes them to lose weight. If you do not want to go that route, there are over the counter natural herbal supplements you can try such as Melatonin,Valerian Root(you may find that it has an unpleasant odor but once you take it, it goes aw...
These are white round pills with the element symbol and the number 56 on one side of them. Does anyone know what medication this is? ## a white round pill i cant not read the rest off the numbers becauze it broke but its start with the numbers 56 any ideas.. like possible ambien, flexeril, xanax.. or even a pain medication maybe..
Are two 1mg Lunesta tablets the same as one 2 mg tablets? ## Mathematically yes, but when you take two 1mg tabs, you are also getting double the amount of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers); which are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. As far as your reaction goes, there is really no way a doctor or anyone else for that matter can know ahead of time how any medication can affect anyone. They can only assume that it will be effective based on medical records, current health, age, what the condition is, whether or not any other medications are being taken at the same time, etc. Any of these factors as well as others can affect how you end up responding to this drug. If one tab just isn't cutting it while you're weening off, I would encou...

My pain doctor tolded me about it today, I forgot how to spell it and I have been online for an hour trying to find some info on it and so far no luck, can someone help. ## The only medication that I can think of that's close to that would be Lunesta, but it isn't a pain medication, it contains the active ingredient Eszopiclone and it used to treat insomnia. Learn more Lunesta details here. Are you sure he said it was for pain? I was just prescribed levothyroxin and been taking ambien but I now can't sleep cause of muscle spasms and tention been up for two days can it be because I'm taking both pills I take one in the morning and one at night ## Hello, Shanta! How are you feeling? It might be due to your body adjusting to the Levothyroxine, it does sometimes cause that in some people that take it, but should improve once your body gets used to it. Have you consulted your doctor? You may need to try something else to help you get sleep in the meantime. Are these the only medications you take?
is Zotic a reliable manufacturer of Ambien 19 mgs? ## Hello, Jimmy! How are you? I'm sorry, but that is a manufactured for a generic from India, since they are not approved by the U.S. FDA, I have no information on them. That is one of the hazards of ordering in such a manner. Does anyone know more about this Ambien?
How effective is melatonin for sleep? Appreciate a answer to my query as i'm contemplating melatonin for some of elderly people residing in a old folks home. (btw their ages range from late 60s to late 80s). Is there any other medication for elderly folk with insomnia? Is it advisable for old folks to take sleep medication on alternative nights only to prevent dependency.? Tq for any answer to my query.
Updated in MelatoninI am 66 and used seconal in the very early 70's to decompress from 2 tours in vietnam and i am having sleep and recurring issues again along with many physical problems I am not sure my Dr will give me a script for them...are they still manufactured...how can I find an agreeable DR ## Hello, Alan! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you're having. Yes, it is still available in the 100mg dose. However, there are also other treatment options available that are much cheaper, which a doctor might want you to try, now. Something else may work even better for you. Do you currently have a GP that you see regularly that you could discuss it with?
I've been suffering with insomnia for many years, my doc. Prescribed many sleeping drugs but they don't work on me . I was visiting in the Usa and because of not sleeping I got very high blood pressure , the doctor gave me 2tablets of Ambien Iwas asleep within 10 min . My doctor prescribed sublinox 10 mg. Sublingual, after Taking the med I waited over 2 hours and no sleep ,after several hours I finally dozed off, but woke up aftre 2 hours frustreted because I didn't feel rested. My question is :Sublinox is supposed to be the equivalent of Ambien how come it does not work the same? Also is sublingual the only form or there are in pillform? The taste of this tablet is not pleasent. P.s Can you explain why the Canadian government allows Ambien in Canada? Lida ## Hello, Alida! Ho...
I know exactly what your taking about and they are fine. I suffer from chronic insomnia and could no longer afford to see y doc everytime i need a refill and then the refill is expensive too, at least for me. Decided to get my refills with this brand instead. If u found a pharmacy to get those blister packs, save your money its the same ingredient zolpipem and works the same way as ambien worked for me. just my experience, everybody can react differently. ## Is there a pharmacy I can get my script filled from in the US that will carry this brand? Maybe I can ask my doctor to prescribe this specific kind for me?
I am taking this medication and it makes me hard to breathe and I am tired all the time. What Company makes this medication? ## Hello, Donald! How are you? I'm sorry, but this is a generic, so there are several different companies that make it. What are the markings on it? If you can post back with them, I can check who the manufacturer is for you. Thanks!
I have been taking this medication for 6 years. If it just supposed to used short terms why do the doctor keep giving it to you. ## Did you try any others? Is this the only one that worked for you? Doctors don't have to follow the dosing and usage recommendations, they can prescribe according to their ow experience. However, it would be best not to stop it abruptly after taking it for such a long period of time, it would be best to taper it. Are there any other questions or concerns?
