Side Effects Of Suboxone (Page 13) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been on suboxone now for just under a month. I think it is an amazing drug, i have had no cravings or interest in returning to opiates, my drug of choice was oxy. I get up every day feeling happy, and am able to take on what ever the day brings me. I am also on lexapro for depression at this time. There is one problem after i take my dose, which is 8 mg. twice a day, I am extremely tired sometimes to the point where if i sit down I will nod off, so I keep moving and can usually fight through it. I am wondering do other people feel this way or does it get better the longer you are on it? Two other things that are sometimes very bothersome are dizzyness and extreme dry mouth. I just wanted to find out other peoples experiences. Thanx

I've been off Suboxone for a year. I got my last shot in July 2022. However, at the inj. spot I still have a lump there and it refuses to go away. Why? I mean it worked and today I feel great. It's just that the lump will not go away and it's starting to concern me.

Your body will not adjust as they are entirely different. Suboxone is designed so that you do not feel the effects of opioids - that's the whole idea. The withdrawal symptoms from Suboxone are apparently severe. It was designed partly so that more poppy plantations in Southeast Asia could be eliminated by the U.S. government, which means more synthetic crap on the streets. I recently read an article by leading law and medical groups that illustrated how the drug situation in the 60s and 70s were a lot safer and more manageable compared to now. People are frying their brains with substances. Plus, people seemed to be a lot more laid back with real opiates.

Poor thing. Your Dr knows nothing. I pity you trying to get off that crap. 16 mg is a joke.

First me I say I am so happy to hear that you're cravings have disappeared! I myself am on Suboxone for pain management. At first it worked wonders! I do not remember feeling tired but feeling more energetic. The effects of dogs with time and I'm now up to 4 a day of 8 mg. I think either it is the mixture of the Lexapro on the Suboxone or maybe it's just a suboxone but either way that it will get better. I really think it's still just you getting used to the drug.

I would talk to your Dr about Provigil or now the new Nuvigil. It truly helps with the fatigue at least.

i was abusing pain madication for almost 2 1/2 yrs, and im only 21, the 1st time i took sub was a horrible experience, i was sick for 20 some odd hours, fully irrected, and had the runs, i was bout 19 at the time, my tolerance for opiates wasnt high at all, til about 7 months ago i was doing atleast 60 to 100 mgs of roxi, im headstrong so my with drawls were more frustrating and annoying than anything, lack of sleep, restless legs, bi polar etc, than i said enough is enough and started on the subs a few months ago!! Hell, i barely do more than 1.5 mg a Day!!!! Amazing!! i Heard Sub With Draws Are Jus As Bad, But il also use Maryjuana to help to, in about 2 weeks i plan on Droppin The Subs, and Continuing self Medicating My Self With THC, Widh Me Luck!! i Will Keep Yal Posted!!

John, thanks for sharing something intelligent! People come on here and give their shoddy advice about how they quit against their docs recommendations etc etc. People some of you are meant to be on subs for the rest of your life and some people can be weaned off in a short period of time. If your addiction was even worth getting treatment for your doctor will keep you on suboxone for TWO YEARS. I have done the research (you all can do your own) and in most moderate addiction cases quitting any earlier has at least an 85% chance of relapse. You need to wean off when your doctor tells you too. You know that guy you pay a lot of money to treat you? Yeah the one who completed medical school! So seriously, just because some yayhoo on the internet tells you suboxone is evil so he weaned himself off and had horrible results ...I must say you deserve any discomfort that's headed your way. Talk to your doctor for Pete's sake people.

Hi Em, how did he come off them? did he wean down or quit cold turkey? and yeah three years is a loooong time to be on subs. thought the max was two or earlier if you we're ready.

I have read thousands of posts and lots of medical info over the past four years, your post is my favorite Saul. Maybe because that's where I am on my taper, but also because your post is clear and concise.

Thank you Saul.

PLEASE get your facts right! Its a very dangerous thing to hand out rubbish,,just as dangerous as the drug of choice,, Suboxone is a mix of subutex and naltrexone! The naltaxone is inert(no effect)if taken propely.I.e. under the tounge but is meant to send you into precipated withdrawl if injected though this does not appear to work. m from rainy ol uk and i read with amazement at the doses most of you are on! A one 8mg pill EASILY lasts me a week,, i think your doctors are paying for their holidays with your money. And for your info buprenorphine(active in subutex/suboxone) is SIXTY times stronger than morphine. Take care, have fun, stay safe!

2mg of Suboxone isn't enough! I go thru full blown WDs EVERY NIGHT! So yesterday I started induction over...no help from physician...just shrugs his shoulders and I do my own research. So NEVER got stabilized 34 horrid nights of WD on 2mg day. Wears off ...doesn't last the whole 24. I know there are ubsorption issues with films and new garbage generic tabs. So my question is...I'm nodding at 6 mg split into two doses...(no sleep at all and 5 mg Valium to TRY for sleep) and 2 mg is obviously NOT ENOUGH!! NEVER stabilized...had WDs EVERY night since day 1....now it's day 34. HELP!!! PLEASE H E L P!!! I'm on my own. Thanks Kare
