Rhodes/purdue Buprenorphine Hcl 8mg Rp B8 Vs Roxanne 54 411 (Page 48)

Updated

I have made the switch from the 8mg films to 8mg buprenorphine tablets only. With all the research I've done and experience I do my best to stay away from actavis mylan and nowadays sandoz. I noticed everyone has enjoyed the Roxanne now westward generics amongst hi-tech coming in second/mylan. I have no experience with mylan bup and don't want to take the risk even as mylan has always been a waste imo. I'm not a fan of allergan (actavis) taking over watson so depending on the drug dispenses I most stay away. There are as of now 7 manufacturers of generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg (generic subutex). They are in order of my preferred with not much experience except with brand name:

*roxanne (now westward pharma)- 54 411
*hi tech- 8 ^(arrow)
*mylan- M924
*teva (allergen/activas owned) crooked b 799
*actavis- moon 153
*sun pharma- 460 white round
[And the brand new released generic made by Purdue and distributed by Rhodes Pharmaceuticals the new Rhodes generic]
*RP b8- white round bevelled and pretending edges.

I currently have had a smooth switch to the Roxanne/westward and declined mylan, actavis, teva, hi tech, sun pharma as most research and reviews conclude the Roxanne/westward generics the 54 411 seem to be best reviewed. I was unable to find the Purdue/Rhodes pharma newly released generic RB b8 imprinted generic. All I know is Rhodes and Purdue are professionals in the process of making quality meds and not just quality meds but pain relief medication, as they even were the company to CREATE oxycontin. I was able to come across one image of them on the web and they look very similar to the Roxanne 54 411s in size color and mostly shape except for the rhodes/Purdue ones protrude or kind of pop out on each side beyond the bevelled edges. They look really well made and on one side they have RP and otherside b 8 which the b and 8 are fairly far apart. I have been doing great from switching from brand films to the Roxanne westward 54 411s so far. I'm hoping to get some feedback by next month on these newly released rhodes/Purdue generic buprenorphine hcl 8mg. They are the newest and just released October 2017 and look very shinny and quality made. I'm hoping someone here who has tried both the Roxanne/westward and the new Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8 tablets. I am going to try and have my pharmacy special order the new Rhodes generics made by Purdue again imprinted RP b 8 white round shinny tablets fairly similar to the Roxanne but look better quality imo but do not have much experience with generic just brand and am very well versed on pharma companies and their medicine and their quality each one has.

Has anyone tried these new rhodes/Purdue ones imprinted RP b 8? How would you compare them to the Roxanne 54 411 tablets... I hope for a response or it will be trail and error for me when ordering Rhodes next month if i stay on this route and will see how they compare to the Roxanne/westward but will not be til a month away. Please if you have any experience with these generics and especially the new rhodes/Purdue one let me know. Again I was able to locate only one image of them and they look great. They do not look small like hi tech more like a combined Roxanne and mylan with the shininess and how they pop out on each side..they look a little larger like the mylan and Roxanne not small like hi tech or teva or activas they are round tablet imprints RP b8 with b and 8 fairly far apart. Any feedback would be great and I would want to switch to rhodes/Purdue from roxanne (now westward being a factor) generics as they make quality are new just released and approved this year 2017 of October and no one how even mentioned them yet that I can find. With westward buying out Roxanne and them making changes a new generic made by Purdue may be just the one we have been waiting for and needing..again on the 54 411 ones now and looking for feedback on the new Purdue Rhodes ones and if the switch from Roxanne westward to rhodes/Purdue would be better maybe with better quality as they have always been a great and reputable company who makes outstanding drugs. Any feedback would be great.

Did you ever get this figured out? I think someone made a clerical mistake somewhere because it sounds so outlandish. Kudos to your state for how they handled the election process.

Hi me and my hubby also have been on the Hikima 54 11’s for years now and I’m also trying to research on the manufacture Rhodes myself since the Hikima 54 11’s have been so hard to come by. I assume u pay cash as well and this medication is very pricey plus the doctor visit it’s expensive to stay clean lol but so worth it. Please if any1 can tell me anything about the brand Rhodes I’d greatly appreciate it have a blessed day!

Omg! Where did you get yours at?! I always get mine from Walgreens in the sealed Rhodes manufacturer’s bottle. They have NEVER been chalky and powdery! Always hard, shiny and very professional looking!

Re: Tim (# 934) Expand Referenced Message

I've had the same issue with a prev pharm here in VA. Some pharmacies are a pain and very judgmental on the medication suboxone esp subutex. Due to a lot of people abusing them it affects us the ones who are trying to get some relief from pain or to stay clean but are allergic to the naloxone which is the ingredient in suboxone incase some didn't know that. I'm also allergic to this as well and have been on subutex for approx 6 or 7yrs now. It's to the point that my body has gotten so use to it that I'm now no longer receiving any relief for my pain and I have switched didn't manufacturer's. Since i have stuff on my health records I'm not able to be prescribed narcotic pain meds due to a prev addition but anyhow I would have your dr send them the proof they need or you can request from ur dr and talk to them but i would suggest that you let your dr handle it since they're wanting to be an ass about it. Hope this helps...jus know that you're not alone even up here north they're actually worse so I've heard.. have a good day stay safe

Hi thanks for your response. I'm still unable to get a scriot for my anxiety it's a shame bc i suffer each n everyday its sad its like the drs n psychiatrist don't care they're willing to write anything else but a benzo the one medicine that i actually do need. It's now been 13yrs since the passing of my brother gma n papa and it still feels like yest. I have ptsd and many other things going on but with me being on subutex no dr even wants to even consider to have you taking both@the sometime at least up north that is here in va. I've lost all hope in our Dr's n I've came to reality that I'll never get my script back that i was prev on back in 2013 due to me being on the subs shame that they put u in this predicament.

Re: TT (# 947) Expand Referenced Message

Yes that’s bull...I suffer from pstd and panic attacks. I’m so lucky I have a understanding Doctor. I’ve been with him for 13 years. As long as I test clean it’s all good. I’ve never had dirty lab work. Just thinking about abusing it scares the s*** out of me. And I don’t feel the subutex, I just don’t have a craving for other opioids anymore. I sure wish you luck. Keep checking around. I hope you find someone that understands.

Re: TT (# 947) Expand Referenced Message

It helps if you add a stimulant. Physicians feel more comfortable if they know you’re also taking something to counteract the CNS potentially fatal synergistically repressive effects of Buprenorphine combined with Alprazolam alone.

Re: Davemp88 (# 950) Expand Referenced Message

Hi, I am currently on a stimulant for ADHD Disorder Vyvanse 70mg 1 x day but he isn't wanting to hear me out when I try and explain to him my situation on still having issues with my anxiety he brushes it off as if I don't even have the disorder and gives me some dumbass suggestions on how to remember my brother n GMA passing bah bah bah the same ol s*** its all a bunch of bs. I have prev history of being on Xanax 1 mg 3 xs a day for approx 6 years after my brothers passing but since I went to suboxone/Subutex the 1st physiatrist that I saw straight up told me he had no problem writing me out the script for them and was going to do so until he saw where I had gotten a script filled for Subutex so that shot it all to hell talking about a big disappointment and was out of $200 for the visit as well as the 2hr drive I drove to see them...I suffer every day and it seems like it's getting worse every day It's to the point that I'm not even feeling my Subutex any longer and I am wanting to take more just because of my anxiety/depression. I wished I knew a dr here in VA near me that could and is willing to help sad that it comes down to this. These Drs don't understand they really don't.

Sounds like you should find a “better” physician.

Rpb8 is the second best. 54-411 is top dog. Most of the time the pharmacy will have rp-b8. I'm assuming it's a cost issue. I've been hearing that rp-b8 makes some people nauseous.

Re: Goozer (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

I've just switched from the 54 411 I guess Roxanne to the RP B8 version which is Rhodes Purdue. I've been on the 54 411s for 4 years now so I'm nervous it might not work as well as what I'm used too. Did anyone end up having to try both and if so which did u prefer?

Hey, figured I'd chime in.

I know this thread is a few years old now.

I just picked up the rhodes pills from Walgreens, here in Woodbridge NJ. For a script of 25, with the GoodRx coupon, it came out to $16.50. I couldn't believe how cheap it was.

I've been using the roxannes for the longest now. I searched the web to see the opinion is about the rhodes and I stumbled on this thread.

It sounds like a lot of ppl like the rhodes so that good to hear.

I'll report back and share my experience with them.

The take away message from my comment however is to use the GoodRx app and you will save money.

Re: Megz (# 954) Expand Referenced Message

Have u tried yet and if so, how do you like them? The Rhodes ( RPB8), are huge and taste horrible , but they work good. I switched from Walgreens to rite aid and they are giving me those super tiny hi tech/ Akorn things. They seem ok, but thank god I squirrled away some Rhodes so I take my one tiny Akron and about a 1/3rd of Rhodes. I’m probably going to ask them at Rite Aid if they can order me some Rhodes. Please let me know your experience, please. Thank you all for the good info!

In my opinion the Rhodes stink! I was taking the Roxanne, which are the best in my opinion, and then I used a different pharmacy and got the Rhodes. Next month I will definitely make sure I get the Roxannes.

Re: Tnice2 (# 957) Expand Referenced Message

Medical professionals do not seem to understand you can suffer from opiate addiction and hopefully get relief from suboxone, etc, but when you mention anxiety/ panic attacks , they ate slow to respond to chemical treatment. That’s total crap! I have both and PTSD and need meds for all of the above. A prayer for some compassionate doctors to come all our ways...????

I have been on the B8 for a while but recently got the 411 again and I have to say the 411 are stronger and I can eat less of them daily. I originally thought the B8 were very similar to 411 and switched with no trouble but I eat two a day of B8 and only one of the 411.

It's nice to see a forum of people that understand exactly what I'm going through. I've been on bup for a few years now. Started on 54-411 and then couldn't get those anywhere near me. Took the orange ones for SO long and felt terrible. I assumed it was just my addictive nature. My pharmacy just told me they have Rhodes brand for 1/2 the price. I took it and feel better today than I've felt in over a year on the orange ones. People say generics are generics...I humbly disagree. When you take something every single day, you are aware of its impact. I'm grateful I stumbled upon this blog. At times it's easy to feel alone. I don't want to take a pill every day of my life, BUT I sure don't want to go back to the use of illicit pain medication. I would like to eventually get off these, and I've tapered slowly. The final jump feels so scary and painful. Any thoughts?
