Rhodes Pharmaceuticals Percocet (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been taking 10/325 for years and my pharmacy filled this one with Rhodes pharmaceutical product. I have been taking now for 3 days. I have been sick to my stomach, neck, and jaw pain and it does not relief the pain it is prescribed for. Why could this be?

I hear ya. I've been on 10/500 for years, then the 10/325s. Always liked Mallinckrodt the best but insurance wants to be cheap so Walmart's Rhodes was it. Now with the opioid crisis those of us that depend on our meds are suffering because the illegal users and dope heads overdosing are causing us more pain and unable to buy or get our brands, and the govt is not helping. I feel your pain now. We need a movement.

Re: Nicole (# 20) Expand Referenced Message

Same deal here with me in ohio on 7.5. They're junk - neck surgery, disc c-2 c-9 gone. Was on oxycontin 10 mg for 3 yrs. New law kicked in, got screwed on that. We as pain patients need to band together and sue the fda and cdc. That's who's behind this BS. Anyway, I'm tired of being in pain. I'm 52 AND CAN'T EVEN ENJOY MY PARTNER. SO ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEAS FOR GOD SAKE, LETS DO IT! BEST REGARDS, TOMMY OHIO....

Re: Sue (# 37) Expand Referenced Message

I know I'm about six months late, but your best bet is Endocet. It's expensive & a lot of insurance plans don't want to pay for it, but it is the most consistent as it's made by Endo Pharmaceuticals (The makers of Brand Name Percocet.)

I know this entire thread is bashing Rhodes brand, but I personally did very well on that particular generic. They are no where near as strong as Endocet though, maybe 50-60% less potent. I know that's messed up, but if that's all your insurance will pay for (It's all mine would pay for for about a year or so.), they will work in a pinch.

You just have to tolerate the inactive ingredients (Most everyone here had horrible side effects unfortunately.) Conversely, I know some on here have raved about Actavis Brand-- That generic gave me the EXACT SAME AWFUL SIDE EFFECTS mentioned in this thread.

I guess my point is, it all depends on your body chemistry, & what YOU can tolerate. What REALLY SUCKS, is that you have to "roll the dice" for 30 days at a time. :-[

Maybe your doc can write you a 7 day script to see how you do? Just spit-balling... Hope this helped.

Such bs!! One of the reasons my husband and I got citizenship in another country. Percocet and Norco are sold over the counter, no prescription needed!

Hi Susan,

According to NIH, "severe stomach pain" is listed as a side effect of Acetaminophen; whereas they recommend contacting your doctor immediately. [Note: nausea and vomiting are also on the same list] - Just mentioning this in case it's attributing to your "sick to the stomach" feeling...

As far as the neck & jaw pain is concerned, I haven't found any specific details suggesting that it's related to oxycodone or acetaminophen - but my opinion is if you haven't had this issue before starting treatment, then it may very well be from either the active and/or inactive ingredients.

Based off this information I would strongly encourage you to get in touch with your prescribing doctor and maybe see about getting a different manufacturer's version of Percocet; or even a different medication altogether.

I hope you've gotten around to feeling better since you last posted!

The worst side effect of Oxycodone w/Acet (Percocet) 10/325 is the 325 mgs of Tylenol, which causes liver and kidney damage in long term use, hence the extreme stomach pain. Get off of it asap. Google “side effects of Tylenol” and you will see that It is life threatening over time.

Re: RONALD (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

I live in Rhode Island and Rhodes is the only brand that CVS is carrying at the moment. Rhodes made me feel out of it with no pain relief. Walgreens and Rite Aid are only carrying Camber. They say that they can not order anything else. Whatever you do, steer clear of Camber!!!! The side effects I got from that were severe and intolerable. I felt so weak that I could barely stand. Body aches (withdrawals?) Severe nausea and vomiting that did not respond to Zofran. Zero pain relief. I call the pharmacy now before bringing my script in to find out what brand they have. Have been using Walmart for the past 2months. They carry Mallinkrodt and I have not had any side effects from that. Also, try a Mom and Pop pharmacy. They will most likely order what you need.

Wondering what ingredients are in this Rhodes Percocet? Never used this brand. Makes my lips tingle and cheeks flushed. I have been on a different brand for 3 years, was out of my brand and used Rhodes 10/325 Percocet.

Re: Nicole (# 20) Expand Referenced Message

I was just raised on my dosage to 10/325 and found out that Hyvee carries Mallinkrodt brand ~ the only one my regular pharmacy can get is Purdue, which I can’t find any info on. I had been taking the Mallinkrodt in the 5/325 with okay results. Well guess what??!! Not so for the 10/325 Mallinkrodt! I have been extremely ill since taking it 2 1/2 weeks ago, plus NO pain relief. Symptoms are really bad upset stomach, nausea, extremely fatigued, headache, hard to urinate and just a general all over feeling of being sick ~ like the flu. So even different doses can make a huge difference. Hyvee said they can order Endocet brand if the doctor specifically puts it on the prescription (as medically necessary). That is the only brand that seems to be the best in most people’s opinions and trust me, I have done lots of homework searching all the drug forums and other sources for as much info as I can get. This time I think I will have my doctor prescribe for just one week to make sure they work for me. I can’t go a month being extremely ill anymore and not knowing if any permanent harm has been done to my body. It seems from everything I’ve read that most of the problems are happening in the 7/325 and 10/325 dosages. I had the same problem with the 7/325’s six months ago when my pharmacy switched brands on me without telling me. The new brand was AMNEAL and they also made me extremely ill. This is all so frustrating as we, the patient, shouldn’t have to do investigative work until we find the right generic brand. I think it’s criminal on the part of generic pharmaceuticals to make people ill, plus still have to deal with no pain relief. I found out that I have to be my own advocate as no one else will be. So wrong!!

Re: Larry (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I realize this is an old post but the info could help someone down the line. I am an RN. As Larry said, neck and jaw pain accompanied with nausea could very well be symptoms of a heart attack or stroke. Please don’t down play these symptoms, go get checked at your ER. If it isn’t either that’s wonderful as those symptoms could be other things, but NEVER take that chance. Way to look out Larry!

Re: Tookie (# 24) Expand Referenced Message

Rhodes medication is carried by all pharmacies: it is a terrible drug that causes terrible side effects. The pharmacies carry it because it's cheaper! Pharmacies today have no regard for the patient!

Re: Tookie (# 34) Expand Referenced Message

I really think & know by trying different brand generics this past year that all generics of percocet have definately been altered/changed in formulas & horrible fillers. All these years taking this med as a managed chronic pain patient NEVER have I experienced any bad side effect til this “crisis”... In fact I feel something has been removed eliminating the energy & positive feeling factor.

Because most pain relief generics are junk. The only good ones are made by Mallinckrodt. Been on them for years (strength 10-325). My pharmacists know for sure if the Boss won't order the Mallinckrodt I'll pay the piper and pay $63.00 for a month's supply of brand name PERCOCET.

Re: Emily (# 39) Expand Referenced Message

Yes Endocet is the most consistent. My Dr has written that for me every month medically necessary as well. However not one pharmacy can order it for me saying it is unavailable!! Its unbelievable the run around Ive lived as well this past year or so. Ive been a chronic pain patient for 15yrs & have never experienced such hell every month. I have no choice but to settle w/ horrible side effects from these new generic low quality pills. There's been a definite change in formulation to silently detox &/or slowly (hate to say) kill us. God bless us all innocently victimized by this. Our lives were fine until now as our lifeline that took us years of trials, failed surgeries, etc to receive this med has been taken away from us.

Re: MeJane (# 38) Expand Referenced Message

Go to a Mom POP pharmacy, have your Dr write Mallinckrodt only ... they have to fill it! Also get a note saying you can't take medication with dyes & fillers ! Don’t ever take any Rhodes meds, they make you violently ill !

Re: Juliebelle (# 42) Expand Referenced Message

All these horror stories from all of us! OMG we HAVE been victimized. There has to be an attorney out there to represent us in Class Action. Mr Morgan of Morgan & Morgan understands pain as he pushed & fought to legalize medical marijuana. ATTORNEY MORGAN PLEASE I HOPE YOU HAVE ADDRESSED MY LETTERS TO YOU!! I myself am highly allergic to even the fumes of marijuana. In college I ended up in the ER from breathing residual smoke from it at a concert; that was yrs back when cannabis could be smoked anywhere!

Anyway everyone, all of you good LONG TERM NON ACUTE CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS we should be “grandfathered” into receiving what we need. I can understand new strides for new-comer’s but for us our bodies are physically/medically dependent. 20 yrs ago I was a guinea pig study in pain mgmt w/ use of opioids. In the hands of the best medical professionals. I've written to all the higher-ups. I pray they consider us. Amen.

Re: TOMMY (# 46) Expand Referenced Message

IM ready... Been asking for the large population of over 55 community who is getting royally screwed with no quality of life at present with the pain meds being pulled, the anxiety meds and everything else that made life tolerable now intolerable. I'm ready, as I'm not ever going to a street corner and wind up eating catfood so I could buy ILLEGALLY OBTAINED MEDICATION THAT'S BEEN TAKEN AWAY OR CUT ON STRENGTH! We are an awful large population of people who also suffer the stigma of shame at being needy and addicted to pain meds as a way of life. Our MD's threatened to reduce everything or else. Lobby time
