I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Hi, I am Lala and took only one injection of Prolia 6 months ago and will never take it again. Tomorrow I have an important meeting with my reumatologist, although he doesn't tell me that Prolia is at fault but he feels that I should get another type of medication. I just can't. My mouth hurts, my tooth, my gums…. they take turns. I am tired. I feel my heart. I am so tired and emotionally I feel drained. I had blood analysis today to check on my thyroid as usually I have it very low, but I don't know if this is also caused by the Prolia itself.
Question: What do the doctors say? Do your have osteoporosis?

Hi lala yes I have osteoporosis very chronic I'm still in bed, am so tired yet can't sleep, no energy, can barely move can't go for walks back in bits, every bone in my body aching, jaw feels like it going to break, gums very sore 2fillings crown & root canal!!! Xxx

Sorry to hear and I pray for your health. What do the doctors say? Do they recognized Prolia as the agent?

Reggie, I only had the one injection but it will be the last. May makes one year since I took it. Feel bad 90% of the time. I hope it wears off soon

Yes, as a matter of fact, cannot prove it as some say some of my Meds might be part of it!

Hi, Reggie. How do you feel? If you are not taking Prolia, what would you do for your Osteo? Are you still in bed? You should try to do some exercises.

I have been feeling better and especially no mouth pain. Now I don't know what to do about substituting the Prolia. I am also planning to visit a nutrionist. Keep in touch. Hope your energy comes back. God bless.

Had my 1st IV in June of 2013. I trusted my dr. All I can say is RESEARCH all you can and then and only then, make your decision. I have had insomnia, headaches, pain in m legs and so many other things. I will never get another IV. Years ago a drug company had to have clinical trials for a drug like 10 yrs before it was sold to patients. Not anymore. That's why you see all the commercials for drugs you may have been harmed by. Years ago you didn't see any commercials about drug companies.

I have had three, maybe four Prolia injections and have had a few issues. The main one being hair falling. I have weak thin hair at the best of times but it started to shed really badly. Went to a dermatologist who thought it could have been Lipitor. So stopped taking that, but hair loss continued. I now think it was the Prolia. I was due to have another shot in November, but have declined it so far. Hair seems to have stopped falling as much but I am 4 months past the expiry of the last treatment, and my GP originally told me it does not stay in the system, like some other medications do. I am thinking I will decline further Prolia, but have a dermatologist appointment and will ask her opinion. Only other symptoms I can think are also related are a couple of episodes of sever back pain, not just an ache but real pain. These were not related to anything I had done, or overdone at the time.

I have been curious to find out how long Prolia stays in the body. There are some reports of 6 months, 8 months and even one reference to 18 months. Where can I find out this information?

Do not do it! Read all the adverse side effects, not worth it! It is poison!
Take Boniva and Forteo Injections, they helped me most!

Have you done the Forteo injections, I had no side effects just hassle of
doing them every nite for 2 years. But they are what really put my numbers
back in place.

weigh your options. Do you have help at home? Are you able to drive.
I read up on all of the reactions, and yes it scared the hell out of me, but I am on the high risks list for fractures and my balance is not real good.. I don't want to break a hip. So, this was shot 3, this week, and yes it does seem that the side effects seem to get stronger after each injection, BUT, I am having a marked improvement in bone density.
Do, I think it is worth it. I really don't know...

Its been 8 months since last injection for me too . I am also JUST starting to feel better. My hip has stopped hurting at night keeping me awake , mouth pain is gone . I just now started walking my dog again . Cannot wait till this med has completely left my body . NO MORE of this crap!!!!!! I am not a guinea pig !

I'm just about to start my 3rd in two days, thought I was dying after 2nd one, but much better lots of pain but coping, calcium intake increased 3000mg daily for first few weeks after injection, I'm staying positive keeping busy resting when need to,& hopefully sunshine vitD will help.. My scan showed significant improvement! I feel blessed, happy it's working after every side effect u can get I got, hav balanced with pain relief gx

The scan shows an increase in bone because of the way Prolia works,

The bone density improvement is due to an accumulation of old bone cells not new.

You are just as likely to fracture on Prolia than if you never took it!
