Prolia Side Effects (Page 71) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Re: JenjiOz (# 3102)
Vaccination update: second shot was barely noticeable, not a single side-effect.
Re: Lizzie (# 3111)
Money, money, money. How sad that doctors are only after the money and could care less what side effects these drugs cause. My hair is still falling out and I am going broke trying to find anything that will help with this problem. I recently fell and cracked 3 ribs, no broken hop so I was lucky. I stopped taken Prolia on my own and my doctor had a stroke. she then wanted me to take the treatment that I would go in the hospital and get hooked up to something. NO! I only take vitamins now and I pray that osteoporosis does not get worse. My doctor also put me on drugs for my thyroid which made me as cranky as hell. I also stopped those, and new doctors have no idea why I was put on those either.
Re: Nikki (# 3123)
Hi Nikki, I have heard of Save Our Bones but I did not know it was a program you have to purchase. Thought it was Folks who share good information about saving our bones! How much did it cost?
Re: Karen KK (# 3122)
Hi Karen, I am pretty much doing what you have stated you are doing. Doctors opinions held at arms length, and embracing supplements and organic, healthy, plant-based food. Also started a walking aerobics class (Yay to Leslie Sansone of YouTube) last September and think it’s been helping a lot! A DEXA test will tell. This may not FIX any bone loss, but at least I’m hoping it may STOP/SLOW bone loss.! ????
Re: Duce (# 3124)
Hi Duce,
I think I bought the Osteoporosis Reversal program. It's currently on sale for $67. Some of the what is offered I can't afford. But they do have blogs and articles that offer help, too.
Besides the suffering from common side effects read throughout this Prolia forum, I’ve yet to come across anyone experiencing severe oral inflammatory problems. Swollen gums and cheeks causing difficulties in forming words. I could go on. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms?
Re: Nikki (# 3132)
Good for you and your dentist. What annoys me so much is that the MD who prescribed this for me told me she knew of no side effects when I told her what I was experiencing. She also told me she was very knowledgeable of the injections as she worked closely with the drug company! As a retired sales Rep, I know that companies, especially drug companies, offer a lot of perks!
As for me, I’ve just learned to live with the sores in my mouth. However, I’ve told anyone I know about what prolia did to me. I have the implant to prove it.
Alexis ~ sit down with a cup of coffee and start reading all the posts on this thread. Looking up various words on MedsChat helps you find all sorts of comments. Try: Prolia, Prolia side effects, Issues with Prolia, Bony Growths, Immune System Prolia, ~ you get the picture.
Educating yourself is key ~ good for you!
Re: Jolly (# 3138)
Thank you for letting me know how long it took for your hair to return to normal.
Re: Jmatt (# 3152)
Good decision. Don’t fall for the Medicos opinions . I suspect that many of them are thinking of their hip pockets and not your hips or any other part of your bone structure
Re: May (# 3154)
I have now found a new doctor and the first thing she wants is a bone density test. I know what comes next PROLIA. No way> I already had too much damage to my hair by taking that shot for 2 years before I guessed that it was NOT old age causing all the hair loss.
Re: Jmatt (# 3152)
It is all about the money for these doctors. Do not take this drug!
I commenced Prolia 17 Aug 2011 so only one day on it so far so maybe a bit early to say no side effects ??
So far no side effects , will be 7 days 17th Aug. I do have osteoporosis with 9 compressed fractures of the spine and aged 63 I was born with Turners Mosaic Syndrome so behind the 8 ball with a few things ..Prolia is very new in Australia, i seem to be a guinea pig yet again , but have to have something !
Alexis you are ione very lucky lady ...
Hugs Sed
Alexis you are one lucky lady ;-)
Thanks, have being reading up on it and Figured out it may just be the Prolia, took Boniva for a year the pain in my Hips was awful. Hoped the Prolia would work. I have Osteopina. Not to bad yet but need something to reverse it maybe.
I was injected two weeks ago and feel horrid. Aches. Nausea. Dizziness. Tingling in hands, fingers, feet. Insomnia. Terrible and severe exhaustion. I feel so ill with this. Will NEVER take the second shot. Had reactions to Actonel and Fosimax. But this is horrible. With a pill you can stop, with the injection, you cannot take it out of you. At work I just want to put my head down on desk and sleep. When I get up from chair I am wobbly and disoriented. I hate how I feel. My Dr. is having bloodwork tests, ECG and heart workup as well.My blood pressure is not good and this is making me so upset. I am a vibrant woman. I feel like a 100 years old toda.
I took the Prolia shot December 31, 2011, and approximately 2-weeks later the pain in my arms, legs, neck hit me with a vengence. I'm having problems sleeping at night. I called my doctor a week ago today 2/21/12, and she has taken me off my cholesterol medication for two weeks thinking this may be the problem, but after one week off the medication - still no changes. I'm hoping these symptoms will go away when my 6-months are up. I do not plan to take the second shot!!!
I'M ON MY 2ND INJECTION. NOW I'M HAVING PAIN IN MY ARMS, CLAVICLE BONE, AND GI UPSET.
THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR ME.
