Prolia Side Effects (Page 52) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Skitty~Mom had migraines too and no problem with Calcitonin. The problem is getting a Dr. to let us have it. They don't think it works and I KNOW differently. Stupid excuse -- you're too old!
Let that Dr. live with the pain they have been through and get back to me after. He will crying like a baby. They are so big to follow science and not care about patient, how much kick back is he getting???
Roni, I still have not stopped searching for one and if I find one it will be posted here. I had one lined up but only had a week to get everyone on board and either they gave up or didn't get the message. I don't know but I had to call him back and say so sorry! It costs us 0. They take a large percentage of the award and we get tiny bits divided between all of us but it would be worth it even if I received 0. Merck has a billion in a fund to just pay people off after they get sued.
Kitty~I read it and did a little research and it is still a rotten biologic drug. I will go to the nursing home before I take anything biologic again in my life. They can promise all they want to and I don't believe a word of it. The Docs can use it on themselves and we can sit back and watch the evidence - yes, every MD in the world has to take this before I would even give it a thought. I've had enough from Amgen to last me for the rest of my life. Right now, the subject is not even being discussed with me from my regular docs. What do the rest of you think? Thank you for finding it. Now that I know it may be available soon I can stay far, far away from it. Pood
I went to New Dr., same office but I refuse to go to one who gave me Prolia. The new said you are due for Bone Density but I see here you won't take any drugs, so no need to go for it. I said that is correct, so I like this one
There is one person that I will call tomorrow and ask if he would be willing to do it. He does a lot of drug class actions but so far has not mentioned Prolia but he doesn't know about all of us. And, there are more and more of us by the month. I wonder how many of us there are. It costs 0 to go in. If he wins he takes the larger share and we divide the left overs -- usually 60-40 but I don't care if I don't receive one cent. Out of our 40% they take out all phone calls, postage and everything they can think of to line their pockets. I just want Amgen in Court where they belong! Was in one before and just got a notice from the Court that I won but no money. I was thrilled!! Pood
Just FYI - may take some research. I had a firm from New York contact me (I probably answered an ad) in regard to damages from an antibiotic. I told them I certainly had coped with some symptoms through the years, but didn't know if it could be proved. They said they would do the work. Still, being a sort of driven "digger of info" I finally found a doctor I went to when I used to have constant bronchitis, and, viola, there it was, yes I had taken that drug over a period of time. So I am preparing to get in contact with them after I have time to read through the lengthy contract - I also have a friend who had taken the med a lot, and her tendons began to split in the back of her feet/legs - but that part is irrelevant. I asked this firm if they had any cases going in regard to Prolia, and they said no. I don't know such attorney groups' criteria for taking a legal case. Maybe I will know a little more when I finish the commission of a portrait I am almost done with, and can concentrate on reading this contract, and if necessary, getting an opinion on the contract. These Flouroquinolone law firm people are calling me after some weeks have passed since initial contact, usually twice a week. I have googled them, they look like a fairly successful high end law firm, specializing in litigation, but as I said, out of curiosity, I checked to see if they would take on Amgen for the Prolia, and the answer was not at this time. In the Flouroquinalone drug legal case, they say there are no costs to the persons suing, all costs are taken out of the settlement, and if no settlement, no costs. (As you previously said, people might not get much, if anything, other than the satisfaction of getting the drug off the market, or more disclosure of the damages it could and does produce in its wake. I agreed to the doctor's suggestion knowing there was a "small risk" but I thought it was worth a risk. As the Prolia devastation proceeded and still proceeds, I know it is much more than a few words on a printout, and the doctor saying "I have 100 patients on it and you are the only one with problems." I would just like to verify, and not sure how, if what this firm that is working on the flouro med is telling me is the truth before I proceed with signing on the suit for the deadly bronchial/lung disease/etc., med. After this Prolia thing I'm just tired of doctors, drugs, hospitals, bills, etc. etc. not to mention being bed ridden two or three days in a row after a mere shopping trip for groceries. So - - this are just some things to think about. I could devote an hour a day or so for research looking for a firm, hopefully decent sized and reputable in regard to taking on legal action against Amgen specifically over the effects of Prolia. If that would help. I wish the New York Company would take it, they said I didn't have to do anywork, and that sounded nice as we as Prolia victims have no idea when or if we will be functional for the day.....or part of a day. But not yet anyway. Probably many folks are out there with the Prolia wreckage that don't research and are just resigned.
It has now been 11 months since I had my one & only Prolia injection! The following side effects are still with me & going strong. Pain in my hips & thighs - Sciatica - Muscle spasms in my legs - Dermatitis - Hair loss -Psoriasis, which is not listed as a side effect, however it is from the immune system which is a side effect. I have NEVER had skin problems in my life - not even as a teenager. Of course hair loss was not mentioned as a side effect until I dug deeper into the cancer websites & discovered that prolia is a cancer drug. I was again on the phone to Amgen for 40 minutes on June 24th to a Pharmacist for the 5th time since Sept. 25th 2015. I have sent form #3500B to the FDA 3 times since Sept. as well. It can be done on line, but when you hit submit it won't allow you to do so. It must be their way of not allowing you to report the devil's drug.
Skittle~I know a breeder of excellent Poms when you get in the mood and health to add a new one. They have fantastic temperaments and do not go over 4 pounds in weight when full grown. My friend got one and named her 'Flirt'. I thought my Pood would be terribly jealous but she enjoyed having the little Pom here and she was like a little playmate. She does not over-breed her dogs so there is a good lag time between litters. When you feel better, let me know and I'll try to arrange one for you. They are not cheap in the least but the best never is. Be well my friend~Pood
DO JOT TAKE PROLIA WHATSOEVER, ANYONE !!!!! IT CAUSES BROKEN BONES, TERRIBLE EYE PROBLEMS ( I am losing my eyesight from PROLIA b/c of a epitetinal tear from this drug.)
THIS DRUG SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF OF THE MARKET AT ONCE.

Hi Skitty- sounds like you are going through a rough time... Hospitals are no fun, glad you are home- that's a good thing! Be gentle with yourself. Managing a diabetic diet is never easy and it's worse when you can't eat... Sending you positive thoughts! Hugs...
I too am having vision problems along with muscle & joint pain & it' been 9 months since my last injection. This stuff is like poison to me. It should be removed from the market, I agree.
Marti~I believe your vision problems are probably due to cataracts. Prolia causes them. I had mine removed as soon as I hit the 6th month mark -- actually a couple of days before. Have you been to an optometrist to confirm any damage to your eyes from Prolia? If not, GO!! Muscle pain is Prolia wanting more calcium. The only way to counteract that is with a minimum of 500 mg Magnesium every night when you go to bed. Sometimes I may take one (250mg) in the day time if I start to feel any cramping. This is a year and a few months after only one injection of this poison. Just because the Prolia goes 'poof' does not mean in the least that it's nasty side effects leave with it. Some do and some don't. Be well~Pood
I am due for my third shot of poison in Oct. I will NOT take it. I requested a form from the FDA to report the drug name and all side effects. No I am seeing a thoracic surgeon because I have a growth on my thoracic bone. I had one biopsy done in which the result was not difiinitive. Now I have to have a PET scan done. I'm so sick of all the diagnostics I've had done and the radiation I've been exposed to. I have been in the beginning stages of cataracts for the past six years. I see my eye Dr in Oct. I may go earlier because my left eye has been tearing a lot. I do not know if this poison caused all of the above. But one thing I'm going to do is post this on FB to all of my friends and have them forward and so on down the line.
Kudos to you for drinking bone broth- I bought several boxes of Pacific brand bone broth... I gagged with every sip- I drink them all but haven't bought anymore. Do you make your own? Or do you have another brand you like? I need a more tasty version!
Antoinette~you need to get to a retina specialist immediately. That tear is nothing for them to fix and even if your retina starts to fall down, they stitch it back up; It's just amazing what these docs can do. Please go ASAP -- like an emergency. The tear can cause a small hole in the retina which means you have zero vision in that tear. Get it fixed. A Dr. that does cataracts and general eye surgery cannot help you. You have to have a retina specialist. The worst that happens to you is you have to sleep on your back for a few weeks as they don't want the head moving around when one is sound asleep. Medicare pays for it so no worry there.

Every month or so I like to post these phone numbers so they will be on the front the this blog.
FDA 1-888-463-6332
Doctors are not required to report negative side effects. Report your side effects.
Amgen 1-800-772-6436
Keep reporting negative side effects. It seems like the FDA reviews complaints every six months and updates warnings if necessary.
I was in training for a run/walk marathon and then got the shot. within 2 days I could no longer run or stay up on my feet for any marathon. I am wearing all my clothes in August and sleeping under quilts because I am so cold.
I had the shot a year and a half ago, not sure when the symptoms will completely go away but doctor told me no one else has ever complained about this Prolia drug....He called me for 3 weeks to get the 2nd shot, I just smile and hang up. No way.....
Prolia shot was January 26,2016...almost 8 months post Prolia and still have all my side effects, though some are a bit better... I tend to cycle through my side effects, loose teeth, weak hands, leg cramps, bone pain, dry eyes and mouth and lady parts... Gerd, headache, fatigue, diareah, insomnia, constipation, more diareah...uti, acid reflux, nausea, upper respiratory infection, chronic cough...
So,
I saw an advertisement on CNN for a tens- type unit called QUELL... It was supposed to help with chronic pain in the myscles and bones...$249.00 plus a 60 day gaurantee... I'm desperate for some relief so I decided to try it... They claim 81% of people trying it get relief for their chronic pain... And I seem to be one of those lucky people... It's the most pain free I have been in the last 6 months...
Just wanted to let you all know- relief has been long in coming... Maybe it could work for you?
It's like a tens unit, but is not- I have had tens units in the past.
I have used the QUELL for two weeks now and my feet are no longer curled into cramps each morning. My leg calf cramps have decreased... I'm Waiting now for relief in my ribs, hands, hips- and more... I still have much discomfort but the improvement in pain has been a gift... I hope I continue to feel a bit better daily with my quell- as I patiently wait for the Prolia to leave my system...
