Prolia Side Effects (Page 51) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
I'm sorry Skittie. I always say the very best thing to do when we lose a fur baby is to get out and get another ASAP. It really helps the grieving process. A new one will never replace the old one but I can promise you that in time you will love it just as much. That's the way I am with Poodles. Cannot live without one. You know there is a kitten at a shelter that would just love to be yours. Go find it and you will enjoy having a kitten around as they are so cute. Pood
Jan, I contacted a firm and they said they would take the case if I could get sufficient people and I only had one week to do it. I did not get the number of people needed and others came in too late. I had to tell them we do not have sufficient numbers for you at this time. They were calling me every day and I would not pick up their calls and finally I had to talk to them. Maybe at a later date we can all get together and I'll find another firm. There are many that advertise on TV, so if they are doing one product, they darn well can do another especially with the number of deaths in the short time Prolia has been out because these type of suits are for the victims or the family of the victims. Pood-
I had a toy poodle in college. Snuck her into the dorm in my backpack before tiny dogs rode in purses. I have several dogs now. Love every one of them!
Thank you for all of your information. Hopefully I will have more info to share after I go to the Mayo Clinic.
Since my diagnosis I have given up all soda. What are your thoughts on sparkling water? I have read a mixed bag of opinions on soda, carbonation, phosphates and caffeine - both yay and nay.
Today was a rough day. I also got a call from the school district where I am a substitute because I have not been subbing enough. I had to say that I have been too sick and fatigued to take sub days. The district employee stated her mom had Prolia and was sickened by it, too. What a small world and we really are not alone- thanks for helping me!
Poodle, a lot of these things you have listed on this list are really duplicated. numbers 5,11,12,14 are all fatigue and pain in the muscles, joint pain. These would all fall under Fibromyalgia. It seems the FDA is giving fancy names to things that are one in the same.
I have had my first injection of Prolia. I have developed severe ringing in the ears, I have decided not to take the second injection that is due! If my ears ring badly now. What will a second injection due. How long will this ringing in my ears last or is it permanent ?
Google "Tinitis" and read up on it. I have had earringing in the past and have bouts of increased ringing. I am assuming that my worsened tinitis after my Prolia will get better over time. There are some thing you can do to help it including some supplements and medication. I found in the beginning if I focused on the ringing it would get unbearable. I had to find a means of living with it as a constant background noise like a white noise, instead of focusing on it as unbearable or annoying ringing. It helps to focus on a hobby, have tv or music in the background always, chewing gum, crunching on raw carrots instead of listening to the roar in your ears. There are options to discuss with your doctor or ear specialist. From what I've read on this board, others begin finding symptom relief after 3 and 6 month markers and then continued slow steady improvement. At month 3 I have seen improvement in my acid reflux and frequency of intense itching. I'm hoping all my other symptoms begin to follow this pattern. This is my hope for all who are experiencing the side effects of Prolia. My doctor is under the belief that side effects can get more intense with additional Prolia treatments, I can't take that chance. Being proactive with my current side effects keeps me focused on feeling better and waiting the Prolia out. Hopefully tomorrow my ears will ring less, my itching will be less, I'll sleep better, my pain and fatigue will lessen and my body will continue to rid itself of Prolia. It's not you, it's the Prolia.
Yes I realized that, I was just wondering where it is posted at the FDA website???? Presumably they have to list them there too but a search doesn't find it. I agree, on of the things prolia seems to do is attack the muscles .. actually I think 5 11 12 and so on are separate but they all affect the muscles and could be fybro like symptoms but anything can cause those symptoms. My guess is it is the effect of prolia on the whole caclium/mineral and hormonal balance which happens in it's inhibition of rank ligand maybe.
Thanks Pood, I am too much in distress now, he left me only last week after caring for him for two years with crf/anemia/IBD and lymphoma which took him in the end. I hoped till the end he would somehow beat all this. We have another kitty, but she is not as attached to me, love her very much still. He was a little part siamese cat I trapped by accident and has been the love of my life. I'm just devastated, he has helped me so much with my illnesses. I couldn't give the attention right now to another and especially a kitten. I'm worried they may chew the tubing on my insulin pump. I'm going to visit a friend in CA maybe and then we will decide to adopt again. I was thinking even a dog/pup maybe but I'm not sure. I'm so devastated. I have been through this a few x before but this is just so hard. He has been there for me for everything including two devastating furbaby losses, for 17 years.. he was 18 maybe. I just wanted him to stay with me forever. He was pure love. <3
Tinnitus can be gotten rid of either with acupuncture or hypnotherapy. I prefer the hypnotherapy way of doing it. Pood
I search websites for information about our bones in general and they say
from people who know that we do not need all this medicine for our bones
because they mainly take care of themselves, yes they do thin with age
but our body has a way of protecting the bones. I am still having the rash and coughing but they are getting much better.
I had my first prolia shot just over 3 weeks ago I am 53 and wish I never had it. I am so tired and fatigued, in sever pain, headache, not hungry confused and unable to look after myself. I would never recommend prolia to anyone. I live in Australia the heat affects me badly. Help what do I do?
1. Take your list of concerns to your doctor.
2. Tell family members how bad you feel so they understand.
3. Be gentle with yourself and know it's the medicine and not you.
4. Tell family and Doctor that many others have many of the same symptoms as you do---and don't allow anyone to make you feel like a hypochondriac -
5. Get help from your doctor for all your side effects.
I am taking Proila for osteoporosis which is made worse by medication for estrogen loving breast cancer. I'm dealing with urinary pain, bladder infections, UTI's blood in my urine. Is anyone else on Prolia experiencing this?
I have the same problem, for a year and a half, been to several doctors including a urogynocloogyst and no one seems to be able to fix the problem or CARE! I am at my wits end. I was beginning to think I was the only one :(
I understand. I've been taking peridium for the pain, but it only takes the edge off. I've had several UTI's since January, but then realized that that all the pain I'm experiencing isn't always a UTI...it's just urinary pain. Going back to urologist and my oncologist. It's lousy feeling this way all the time!
fOR EVERYONE TAKING PROLIA. dO not take anymore. They tell you it is good for you but it is not. I still have the rash problems, along with acid reflux.
I also had urinary tract infections while on Prolia every three months I had
to take those pills to clear up my infection. Now that I am off Prolia I have
only had one infection and I am taking a medicine for 3 months that should
help me not to have anymore after I discontinue this prescription. Also I am
drinking Cranberry Juice once a day to help keep down UTI.s Don't do Prolia.
Before I was on Prolia I took the infusion Reclast and I did not have any effects
but I am still not sure about that medicine either because they are all in the same
family. Beware of Prolia and any other thing they recommend.
Janie~I had one Reclast at the hospital and thank goodness the girls were both here at the time because it really affected my mind and I was told that my eyes did not focus and just sort of rolled around in my head and it lasted a good month. I certainly would not recommend this one either. I'm on Salmon Calcitonin now and no problems. I know it's slow but slow can win the race. Had zero problems with it before. I think someone got nose cancer from it and it got a gad name but it really is a good drug. Mom used it for 26 years and did wonderfully on it. Never broke another bone and hers was really bad - could not even shut a door but what a rib or back bone would snap. I took her to an out of town Dr. and he gave it to her and no more problems. Pood
Jan~that does not read well to me at all. You are getting no real pain meds, apparently no antibiotics for UTI's and it generally only burns after having a catheter in for a few days and it takes a week or so to heal up. Someone is missing something somewhere IMO. May be a dumb question but are you drinking a lot of water as it helps or have you cut back due to the pain? I promise 500mg of Magnesium/day will help with the muscle pain -- that is Prolia attacking a muscle trying to get more calcium since that's the only place in our bodies it can get it other than the supplements we take. Wish I could just give all of you a great big hug and tell you it will be okay and it will be in the future, not too distant future I hope. Pood
Susie that is Terrible. How is your treatment going?
Roni! I know how you feel and that's awful. Same exact happened with my 81 year old dad. His Doctor (we're in Michigan) gave him Prolia for Osteoporosis. That was after the doctor left him on Prednisone for over 5 years! Osteoporosis? Not! Prednisone ruined his bones, Prolia put him down within 2 days and he never recovered, ended up getting a Vena Cava filter (not sure if that was necessary either) in the midst of the turmoil, and now I've heard there's a Class Action suit for the filters!!! Please, please keep all of us updated on your mom. My dad was also 81 when he was given the horrible drug. Thinking of you.
