Prolia Side Effects (Page 42) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.
Hi guys - I am on two months and 9 days, still not feeling well: fingers and legs numbness and cramps, muscle pains and clamps,, skin irritates, taking vitamins problems, sometines the muscle cramps inside the body makes me feel going to die, so I take more magnesium, calcium and vitamin D immediately. This experience going in and out last 2 weeks. I am not sure this horrible cramp will attack my heart one day. I wish I can post a good news here one day. This Horrible Prolia really hurting my life deeply. I can't go anywhere as afraid of something gonna be happened to me suddenly.
RM, I can tell you on another thread there is a lady named Janey, She is two years post Prolia and still having the same old problems. She did have more than one injection tho which could be why she is so very slow to get better. My 'magic' day was Nov. 5 and I still have a couple of problems -- the autoimmune disease and a muscle from my arm to my mouth. Will have to have dry needling to break it up. I already told them to expect me when I am allowed to leave the house on my own. The pain meds I am on keep it from bothering me but some day, I will have to quit them so I need to be WELL as in totally well. We know for sure that Prolia attacks muscles as that is the only place our bodies can store what Prolia needs to exist. We don't store protein in any other place in a human body. That is also what leads to the ONJ - Prolia eats the muscles that hold the jaw and then everything falls apart.
I don't believe I stated my calcium intake correctly 2-1200mg capsules two times/day with food with each containing 1000IU's of Vit. D. When tested, I just came in a little bit high, not not sufficient to worry about. When I started to get a muscle cramp, I took a large dose of Magnesium. One has to be careful with magnesium as it can cause loose stools if one takes the wrong kind. Again, let the net be your guide. Amgen states that spasms, twitches or cramps in muscles or numbness and tingling in fingers and toes or around the mouth is directly due to lack of calcium. Column 1, 4th Paragraph. I think it is from the insert sheet that comes in the package that we don't get to see but they do have it written for us to read. It's on page 3 of 3. Go to Amgen's site and print every piece of info they have on Prolia. This is the only way we can combat our ignorant MDs. Mine just took one look at me in about month 4 and went crazy about how horrible I looked and how much weight I had lost, etc. She then got busy and did more bloodwork to help discover what Prolia had done to me. I also know two people got Sjorns which is where bone is deposited where it should not be like on the face. They had to go to Mayo to get a proper diagnosis. It seems that with Prolia EVERYTHiNG is possible. Never, ever, believe it is just YOU. You are only the innocent victim. Learn everything there is about Prolia, other websites, many places have lots more info on Prolia than Amgen does. They only tell us what they want us to know. You should know by now that you are going through chemo even though you don't have cancer. Expect the worst. Know that your immune system is totally messed up and hardly, if, working at all. That means you can get certain cancers too so be very vigilant. Perhaps Canadian has been too vigilant but she knows the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I am not a nurse or a MD. I am just a person that has survived this poison to the best of my ability with a lot of pain meds and sleep meds too. I don't know when they will stop and that's the gospel truth. I'm hoping for next spring but I may be wrong. Maybe the Prolia will still be causing a couple of problems. We are in an unknown, uncharted world right now with a company that sent mice into outer space with Prolia in them. What that has to do with humans leaves me very confused. On another thread here a lady has started to have red, itchy eyes as in hay fever. Is it Prolia? Probably. Since it can cause autoimmune it certainly can cause immune histamine responses. Be well all~Pood
Cheer up. There is light at the end of the tunner. I am getting better except for
the rash on my arms & legs and it has improved. I cannot believe what all of us have been through and I think that the Amogen company should take it all off the market. I am one to tell you that I have been through it with this medicine and I told my family physician that it is not going to happen My calcium level is already high and I have just now got it back down to normal. My other levels of potassium and all are good so I have come a ways to improve if I just get rid of the rash.
I haven't posted for a while. It has been 10 months since my last prolia shot.
I am currently tapering off of prednisone again. This is my fourth attempt. I really hope be Prolia is reduced enough that the symptoms don't come back. The past year has been miserable. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Happy holidays everyone
Micky , I came here looking for help my doctor could not give me after Prolia injection ? I do have other things to do and not just writing to read my post . Prolia almost killed me !!! Maybe it's because I only have one functioning kidney , but Doctor assured me it was safe for me to take . Just because you were one of the lucky ones does not mean you should be so critical of us . Count your blessings , lucky you !
RM - Your mom took epsom salt by mouth or just a footbath (place your feet into the water dissolved the Epsom salt)? The liquid mag and oil you bought - is it the liquid one from innotech? Is this brand and iconic form save.
DM - yesterday, In the morning, I went for the ECG and cardiodiogram test. my body feels good and no tightness condition at that time. Late afternoon, the tightness chest and muscle cramp at upper abdominal happened again. So I took the liquid iconic mag 30ml liquid separately, plus cal + vita d liquid, feels a bit release the tightness. At night I took a APO-backlofen hoping it could help to release the muscle. This morning I felt better when I woke up, only a little bit tightness at the stomach. Went to see the doctor just now, again she said I should take 1200 cal and 1000iu - 1500 vita d, no need magnesium even I told her that calcium need magnesium to balance the muscle. Anyway, I would still preper to take the iconic magnesium separately to find out the cramp will be gone or not.
Thank you very much for your kindness for sharing your mom situation and answering my questions here. Also thanks for JoyceB and Wise Up Janie and Poodle's sharing recently.
Excuse me Mickey~who do you think you are here? We all all victims of Prolia with a common cause of sharing information and doing our best to get through all the side effects of Prolia which are more than numerous. Our MDs do not help us at all. We do net research in an attempt to mitigate the damage Prolia has done or is doing to us. If you are a MD, we welcome your opinions. If you survived Prolia without all the horrid side effects we congratulate you. You are a rare person, indeed. If you have zero to share, we cordially invite you to leave. Be well~Pood
Micky - Please don't mistaken! I think I may be the latest victim here asking for solution to fight for my side effects.
DM - i could find The Invis. Minerls - Mag. article (not sure I can write the exact book name) from google and have read part of it. Same author as the book you recommended. It is a good book. Now I understand my tightness chest and spram muscle in my abodmen could be due to excess of calcium extraction. Magnesium could reduce the cramps. I Hope that this solution really can solve my problem. BIG THANKS TO YOU! I learnt from the book that Excess calciun could cause muscle spram in heart and could cause Angina and thus could lead to heart attack.
Ever so glad to know you only had 'some' side effects. Also happy to know that you are smart enough to not do it again. Why have you not been contributing if you know some of the answers to our questions or did you only have very minor side effects? You may want to note Mickey, that MD's come to this very site to read our posts so they can be more able to help their patients. That's a waste of time?? Apparently, not to Docs that want to know what we write about. Stay well~Pood
None of us are doctors, but what we experiencing is real and you cannot tell us that it would have happed if we had or had not used Prolia. I have a friend that has
confirmed while working for a cancer doctor that 90% of patients came in with
Basal Cell Carcinoma and had to have it removed because of Prolia. Not only that
but I have never had Acid Reflux, itching, rashes , coughing stiff joints and
several other problems because of Prolia. I never had these things until I went on Prolia, so don't tell me that we are playing doctor, We are stating facts that are real and depressing and are caused by Prolia. I talked to the company that makes the
pill and they confirmed that these are possibly real and can happen. Why don't you
just admit, none of the professionals want to admit that Prolia is not what it is supposed to be and never will be.
M~Please forgive RM. He is writing for his mother so that is why he doesn't know the form Prolia comes in and I doubt if he really cares. He is also not very skilled as a keyboarder either but we can figure out what he means. Obviously, Canadian's native language isn't English, it's French. Do you have any more problems? I have numerous credentials after my name and can hold my own with any medical doctor. Any more problems with us? May I also point out here that Prolia is supposed to be subcutaneously injected. Mine was not. I watched and whole needle straight in the arm. What can I say. End of the day and my Doc was tired so it just got jammed straight in. She messed up and apologized deeply. Apology accepted. It was also given in the arm that is not supposed to have anything as it is the radical mastectomy arm with zero lymph nodes. Do you have anything positive to add? Did you get better in the 5th month and totally well by the beginning of the 6th? Did any MD help you in any way with your side effects from Prolia? Did you call Amgen or the FDA? Obviously something not too nice happened or you would have marched right in for another. Specifically, why are you withholding information that could help another person other than 'it's mine' and 'none of your business'. People here need to know there is life after Prolia and it is a good life when one finally makes it all the way through that tunnel to see the sun again and be happy and well again. I made it and Janey is coming along too. A far cry from what she was previously. Otherwise, you may decide to not comment or possibly leave. We care none. Stay well~Pood
Poodle and RM - I am surviving after a couples of life threatening night. The magnesium supplement Was playing a big role In these days. It's a magnesium miracle. The tension in My throat, tightness chest, heart/stomach/back/muscle pains cramps released a lot. Will write more later! Sorry to hear that Mickey has these side effects also. Take care!
My god - feeling miserable and not feeling well again, look like the Prolia still executing it's power on me. It won't let you to have your real life so soon!
Poodle - I will keep in mind to ask the Dr can we get this prescription drug "Oxycodone" in Canada. Thanks again for your time writing such a long posting in order to help me and calm me down. I am so sorry I wrote so many short posts asking for help. This is the only place that will give me hope, strengths and immediate solution to deal with my worries from Prolia. Your true care and concerns really help me a lot.
Probably a wise decision since they are now writing we need 10 years of Prolia for it to really work. Maybe you would be one of the lucky ones that just skates through Prolia. I know of two but I seriously doubt they will take it for 10 years. Yes, numerous cigarettes play havoc with the human body later in life and they portrayed them as so very fashionable. Stay well~Pood
Canadian, mag will improve your condition. It might take a little, month or 3 but you will be feeling better little by little! You atlre taking the liquid one? Try also combining the mag oil, it can calm faster your muscle pain too! Aim for 600 little by little. Have in mind that other meds can deplete magnesium. I am glad it is helping you! It is said that the ionic mag is much better than mag pills. So expect feeling better soon. In the bk there is a chapter that recommends a combination of vits and minerals to be taken with mag to help more. But the main thing for muscle pain is mag! It relaxes! Try an epsom salt bath before bed. Keep me posted! I am waiting for the say my mom tells me she is alright!! Blessings
Thanks everyone. Today went to see the family doctor had the blood test again including mercury, calcium, potassium and everything including rediography for Kidney, bladder. RM - I stopped taking the ionic liquid magnesium. Blood pressure up and down don't know related to what. Doctor said wait until he see the results.
Good for you Carolyn. Hope it all leaves and you can live in peace. Keep getting better~Pood
After 20 months I can say I am totally back to normal Thank God !
It has been 4 months, 2 weeks, & 3 days now since I had the POISON PROLIA injection. I woke up this AM feeling less pain than I have had in the last few months. I pray that all of the sleepless nights in pain are going behind me now. The constipation is horrible & hope it soon leaves. My hair is falling out & am now on prednisone to help stop it. My Dr. said I now have dermatitis on my forehead from this awful shot. Prolia is a cancer drug (Which I wasn't informed of) What is Amgen trying to do - kill the cancer patients! Go to FDA.gov & look up cancer drugs. There you will find all of the info you need to be better informed about this nasty drug. Funny the Amgen website doesn't reveal this information. Shame on them & the FDA for for approving this life threatening drug.
