I would like to know of any side effects others may have experienced after receiving Prolia infusions. Up to now I have none.

Poodle, you can bet your life that the deleted page on prolia was more than likely bought & paid for by Amgen.

It's strange you just wrote that Jan. I went back to my dentist basically for a cavity on the front tooth which was no big deal and then he took X-rays and the bad news came out. On the left bottom I have to have two pulled and implants put in. Somehow they managed to decay under crowns. There is only one culprit here and I'm pretty darn sure it's name is Prolia. I take very good care of my teeth and gums and brush at least once a day with salt and soda so I will have very healthy gums. I cannot wait for the X-rays on the other side.

I am sure it is Prolia that is causing your dental problems. Mine are breaking off at the gum line. All happened after my Prolia injection. I go Thursday to have these pulled and start my bone grafts to start on my implants. I am so mad. I have lost 7 teeth.

How long ago was your last prolia shot? Why does your dentist feel your Body will handle the bone building graft now? Does dentist plan to give you more healing time? Has your dentist worked on other prolia patients?

Im so sorry about your dental news... I am currently trying to get my dental nightmare figured out. I have impeccable good dental hygiene and since prolia have gum disease. What??? I am concerned that moving forward. My mouth will not heal properly for holding implants due to the prolia still lingering in me...

My one and only Prolia injection was December 31, 2015 so it has been 15 months. My dentist thinks most of the Prolia should be out of my system. I am very worried about the grafts and implants. It will take 8 months for all of the healing to take place and I can finish the implants.

Kitty, re calling an investigative reporter, I did send an email to one but never heard back! I'm now going to try another one. I think the problem here in Canada is that we're all too polite and afraid of rocking the boat! If I could even just speak to one reporter about my problems , one with a sympathetic ear, maybe they would listen and take some action!

I had one and only one Prolia shot. Never again. I suffered jaw bone pain and loss, verified by my dentist and a terrible skin disease called Folliculitis Decalvans. Within days, I started to get itchy bumps that were pustule like and many left bald spots. I went to 4 different Dermatologists before I was able to have this identified and am still being treated for it despite the fact that my Prolia shot was Feb 2016. This disease was also verified by my dr to be from this shot. I truly would rather suffer from my Osteoporosis than go through any more of Prolia's side effects. Stay clear, my friends, stay clear.

Judy, I am years past it and still dealing with some side effects. I'm quite sure my back has broken in about 3 places as when the Dr. looked at the X-ray he just said "it's a mess". When I go to bed at night it is extremely painful and I am on pretty strong pain meds waiting for my total knee replacement. My brother bought me a 4 inch foam topper for my bed for Christmas but even it does not stop the pain. Last night the cramps started again so I took Magnesium and a large handful of salt. Then I could sleep peacefully. My hair is still a mess and I don't believe my Dr.'s statement about old age because I'm not that old yet. I sit around picking it off of my clothes, afghans, coats or anything near me. When I wash it, it clogs the drain so the water cannot go out. so I take out a handful. I don't know when we really do return to 100% normal. I had never had cramps before Prolia and my hair was thick and beautiful. I also had healthy teeth. Pood

I really do not understand how it attacks teeth at the gum line. I was totally shocked as I wrote in a previous post, but I don't remember any teeth going bad from the gum line on it. I think that one is only found here among us. I still think you should call attorneys in your area since you have 7 implants and that's very expensive. Even if you get 50% of the money it's going to cost you back that would be a huge help. The lawyers take a 60/40 split and you get the 60. I'm sure you can find someone to help you go against Amgen for this KNOWN side effect. Hugs~

Judy! I hope you find someone to listen! That's what I always wanted also, but no one, not my family (other than my husband), not the doctor who prescribed the killer drug for my dad, no one at the infusion center or hospital where the drug was administered! No one....They all just got mad including my brother who's wife is the office manager where my dad's doctor is. My dad died 8 months after the shot. You can look back at my posts if you want. October 2014ish.... Best of Luck to you. I'm still angry to this day.

C Louise, today the oral specialist I saw did listen and validated what I was dealing with. I also spoke to the pharmacist today telling him all I was dealing with. He checked in his own drug info and also validated all my side effects! Fortunately I do have friends as well as family who are furious with the doctor who prescribed it and then when I told her my side effects , said it was all caused by anxiety ! My daughter is so angry that she wanted to confront the doctor about her callous remarks to me. Thank you for your support. I am so sorry about your father. Was there a reason given as to the cause of his death?

Coincidence? I'm in the process of mega dental work too. Yes, the procedures to fix the gum line as well. Weird - coincidence? We will only know as more victims of this drug come forward. My jaws ache when I open them, chew, yawn...The Dentist has a big sign hanging in his office that he will not work on people who had any off of the osteo drugs, a list he has in prominent sight, after a certain period of time.

In addition, it has just been found I have a huge hiatal hernia, the kind that is ballooned up on the side of the esophagus and it is full of ulcers. Anyone else? I guess I need to have it taken care of by surgery, before it gets worse. Battling anemia.

Diana, what are your symptoms? I've also been having problems even though I've been on acid reflex meds for years. I've debated about seeing my doctor because I'm so sick of going in with a new complaint! I beginning to feel that maybe I'm just a hypochondriac! Thanks Prolia!

I am so unhappy with my side effects, but mine are mild compared to what others are dealing with. I use collagen daily and bone broth protein. Try to stay on an anti-inflammatory diet.

Funny that you mentioned your hernia. I thought I just had the loss of 7 teeth to deal with. I had my Prolia injection on December 31, 2015 and two weeks later I had a hernia episode and my stomach went up in my chest and I had to have surgery. Do you think the Prolia had anything to do with this?

My mother had also been on acid reflex meds and she had to have them increased because of the Pro;ia.

Judy! Thank you. Like so many others, one more of the nasty side effects dad got was breathing problems so of course he ended up being put on oxygen so the even though my dad hadn't seen his doctor for months who prescribed the Prolia (between being in the hospital, going to a nursing home and then coming home on hospice), that doctor is the one who gave the reason for dad's death. Simply listed it as something like breathing problems. Pretty disheartening. He should have had no part in signing dad's death certificate OR being able to list the reason for dad's death. Just seems like a big cover up to me.

Jeanne, I'm also on acid reflex meds but didn't know if I should up the dose. I am constantly having discomfort in my stomach and belching. A lot. I see my doctor on Monday. I also have been having heart palpitations for some time and wondering if anyone else has?
Adding to my problems my younger sister has just been diagnosed with stage 1-2 pancreatic cancer and will be undergoing whipple surgery next week. As the oldest of 5 I find it so terribly upsetting and I feel so utterly helpless. Have been very weepy. I can't kiss it better like I did when she was a child.
