Feeling light headed. Not sure if I should go to ER ## Cookie when is your next dialysis? ## Tomorrow I'm training for home dialysis. I had a treatment today also. Going 5 days a week ## Cookie, If you haven't already done so, I would encourage you to seek some type of medical attention for an evaluation or at least contact your prescribing doctor in order to see what he/she recommends as far as your health and safety are concerned. I know that activated charcoal is something that's widely used in hospitals to eradicate excess pharmaceutical drugs / toxins from the body in cases of overdose, so maybe you can mention that to your doctor if the effects of p...
Round small white pill One side blank Other side says H L 0 2 ## Based on the description provided, I believe your pill could potentially be a 500mg Metformin HCL tablet, most notably used for treating type 2 diabetes, but also has a few other off-label uses as well. This particular pill is white and round with the marking H 102 on one side and blank on the other. For verification, it is reportedly manufactured by Heritage Pharma and carries a National Drug Code of 23155-0102. Perhaps the "1" may have been mistaken for a lowercase L ("l")? Just a thought. I hope this helps!
I finally have an appointment with a R, Symbicort (2xs a day) heumatolgist on 8/21, my present doctor will not renew my prednisone because I have already had two sets of 3x3, 2x3, etc. I only need 8 pills. I do not understand. Two weeks ago I had a horrible experience. I had never experienced such pain and I could not move. It took me over an hour to get out of bed. I could not move without awful pain. I am taking Citalopram HBR (20mgs) for depression; Zolpidem Tartrate(5mgs) for insomnia, Lisinopril (20mgs 2 pils once a day) for my blood pressure, Symbicort for my COPD, Proair HFA as needed. So, the question is, can I use this expired medicati...

Read more here: Do you have any questions? ## I'm not certain you understand the wide variety of maladies or the many complications this drug carries. It's used commonly as a anti-inflammatory for serious lung and breathing afflictions as well as many other diseases. It also puts the patient at risk for many delayed but long term side affects. The short term affects are brusing, bleeding excessively from minor scrapes and scratches, sleeplessness, loss of appetite and many other short term effects. Long term and in heavier doses it can bring on cat...
Hi, I was just prescribed 60mg of prednisone for 2 weeks and after that tapering off a pill a day. I have never taken this before and am nervous about side effects. Do you think I can get side effects being on it for only 19 days total? (Irritability, sweating, "moon face", etc.) 60mg a day for two weeks is kind of scaring me and I'd like to know what I am getting myself into. I know everyone reacts differentl, I just wasn't sure if side effects are more due to long term use. ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? Generally, with short term use, you'll experience side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, insomnia, nervousness and heart burn, as listed by the FDA. The moon face and other more serious ones usually require long-term use. As you are aware, there are always except...
Can you taper prednisolone.. 30mg/day for a week by 10mg/day each week after without side effects or is it best to go from 30 to 20 to 10 to 5mg? ## Hello, Jacko! How are you? How has your doctor directed you to taper it? Sometimes, if you've been taking it for less than 3 weeks, tapering isn't necessary. Usually, however, when it is tapered, it is done by 10mg increments, but not for a week each, in most cases, it's usually just a couple of days. But you need to follow your doctor's instructions, they are the final decider as to what is safest for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this steroid as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, insomnia, weight gain, fluid retention and acne.
My husband is a 52yr old avid bodybuilder & health nut and has been for 30yrs. He's never missed work for so much as a cold. On 3/16/11 he fell ill w/the flu. Four days later he was in ER w/what they said was dbl lung pneumonia. Four days he was transported to our capital city hospital. There he was originally diagnosed w/ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) but after a lung biopsy it was found he had BOOP (Bronchiolitis obliterans with organizing pneumonia). After six weeks on 4/29/11, of extensive physical therapy, being on a ventilator, fitted w/compression hose for blood clots in his lungs & legs & suffering from orthostatic hypotension (his BP dropped to 70/48 everytime he stood up & he passed out) he went home on blood thinners, medication to raise his bl...
I have chronic osteoarthritis through my whole body including my spine, plus other bone abnormalities. I have had chronic pain since I was 12 (18 yrs ago). Doctors have never taken my pain seriously until recently when I was properly diagnosed. I am now on Endep, Lyrica and Gabapentin which together helps with all my nerve pain. But even strong pain killers didn't help with my joint and back inflammation. I had heard about people having success with Prednisone but I had never really considered it for myself because I'm still young and had heard of all the horrible side effects. My pain had been causing me to become deeply depressed. Doctors were treating me like a drug addict whenever I went to ask for a prescription. I was getting to the point of being completely crippled and b...
Hi! Ive been feeling not quite myself Over the past week. Nausea, headaches, profusely sweating at random times, out of breath, cramp in calf for 2 full days, anxiety... I just this morning realized my potassium is probably out of whack. I have some klorcon20 that i had been prescribed last time this happened. Anyone know an average of how long it takes it to start easing symptoms? Ive been on prednisone for 10 days and wondering if that could've triggered this? ## I am very sorry about how you're feeling. However, there is a chance that the symptoms you're experiencing are actually due to the Prednisone and not low potassium. Thus, before taking the supplements, it would be best to have it checked out by your doctor. Taking too much potassium can be just as dangerous as not...
My cortisol level was very low 1.3 for for asthma I take a lot of prednisone but will oxycodone or morphine effect my cortisol level ## My cortisol level was very low 1.3 I have severe asthma and take a lot of prednisone and solu medrol question would oxycodone or morphine time release effect my cortisol level ## Adrenal insufficiency is usually caused by taking steroids in high doses and then withdrawing from the abruptly. So no, it isn't likely that the narcotics have had anything to do with it. How much Prednisone do you take, how often do you take it and for how long of a time period? While taking high doses for a long period of time, your adrenal gland detects that there are already enough steroids in the body, so it stops producing cortisol. A slow withdrawal must be done to a...

I was giving this medication because of sinus inflammation. My order was one pill a day I only took it for 11days and I don't like the way it make me feel, I was wondering if I can just stop taking the pill and also what is the best non steroidal inflammatory medication. ## Hello, Kim! How are you? You should double check with your prescriber, but usually a taper only needs to be done, if you've been taking it for 3 weeks or more, thus you should be able to just stop taking it. What side effects did you experience? The FDA lists the typical ones from this steroid as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, fluid retention, weight gain, acne, nervousness and insomnia. There really is no best NSAID...

supposed to be prednisone 20mg?? ## The skin specialist prescribed OMNACORTIL 40mg for 2 weeks and taper down to 20mg for 1 week and 10 mg for 1 week for my wife's skin problem. She had taken the same in Sep,08. She is finding her right eye with blurred vision. We checked up with Opthalmologit and he conducted the tests. He feels the Ratina is slightly swollen and it may be due to some intake of medicines. Please let me know whether the above medicine taken by my wife has the side effects on her eye. If so how do we cure the eye problem now. ## The active ingredient in this is Prednisolone and yes, one of the possible side effects can be blurred vision. Most side effects go away once your body adjusts to a medication or the drug is discontinued. I suggest she speak with her doctor a...
The vet gave my dog prednisone for his skin problems it has cleared up but the spring time he starts straching again. Can I give this pill to him again ## Hello, Shannon! How are you? Even in dogs, Prednisone risks causing some serious side effects, such as high blood pressure, fluid retention and heart failure, so it would be best not to give it to him, without your vets approval. What is causing the itching, is it an allergy? Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, headache and nervousness.
My pain management PA put me on Presidone10 Mg five times today tampering it down by one pill a day for five days. I have renal function of 31 and was told by my renal dr not to take any pillsfor inflammation. Question I too five doses today Tomorrow I'm scheduled to be admitted to the hospital for surgery for a condition Cauda Eqinus Syndrome. What should I do? I looked up information and Prednisone should not be taken prior to surgery. Do I stop now? ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? Prednisone isn't actually an anti-inflammatory, the FDA considers it a steroid class medication. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, weight gain and fluid retention. However, before stopping it and having your surgery, you should double check with your do...
My grandma has been taking prednisone 10mg a day for almost a month. She just all of a sudden stopped taking them because she felt better. Now she's having pain in her leg. Is it from stooping the prednisone ## Hello, Lisa! How is your grandmother doing? If she was taking it for 21 days, or more, there could be some problems caused by stopping it suddenly, rather than tapering it. However, only her doctor can check this out and give you a definitive answer. Typical side effects while taking a steroid, such as this, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain, acne and fluid retention, as listed by the FDA. Is she on any other medications?
I have bad anxiety, and labyrinthitis, I was prescribed to Prednisone and Azthromycin. I took 2 10 mg tabs of Prednisone yesterday around 11 am, and I started freaking out last night and ALL DAY today. I called my doc and pharmacist and they told me don't take it again. It's been an all day anxiety attack. Sweating feet and hands, my mind playing tricks on me, constantly feeling as if I'm going to die, impending doom, dizziness (which also could be my lab), brain fog, just feeling like I'm going to shut down and die. Help please ## Hello, Joshua! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the bad experience you've had. The FDA classifies Prednisone as a steroid and it is well known to cause those types of side effects, in some people that take it, along with nausea,...
Will this medicine have effects on intimacy? ## I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT BEING ON PREDNISONE IF INTAMACY IS EFFECTIVED AND WHAAT IS UP WITH THE MAJOR SWINGS AND NOT FEELING LIKE YOURSELF ## Well it is a type of steroid, so it can affect your bodily hormones and cause some mood swings and etc. These side effects are not very common and if you are taking it for awhile, they will normally wear off within a few weeks. And in this same way, yes it can sometimes affect intimacy for awhile while your body is adjusting to the medication. ## It doesn't list it in the side effects but yes I did notice a bit of a change for the worse. It actually made me feel like I was on some type of muscle relaxant.
I just started prednisone 10 mg pills for bronchitis and asthma. The dose is 4-3-2-1 3 days each. I lost a pill at the beginning. What is my best day to reduce 1? ## When u r down to two do not take any away from the beginning that is when the medicine that is when the medicine is trying to pounce on the problemwhen you get in a lower doses it doesn't matter as much not really going to text you a whole bunch anywhere but in a perfect world right before the end but not at the end is best but does not so much matter
