Percocet Vs Tramacet (Page 5)

Hi. I'd like information comparing Percocet (Oxycodone / Acetaminophen) and Tramacet (Tramadol hydrochloride / Acetaminophen). Is Percocet a stronger more powerful pain killer than Tramacet? If so, by how much? If you have been taking Percocet are you likely to get the same effect from Tramacet? Is there a chart somewhere that compares or ranks all pain killers comparatively? If so please tell me where. Thanks - good health to you all

I had sciatic nerve surgery 4 years ago. Best gift I gave myself after 27 years of suffering. Look into it. Like my friend said. .. Don't be an idiot they can fix it now! And they did!

However Percocet is HIGHLY addictive. Maybe the could be the reason for your headaches. They were withdrawn headaches. I asked my surgeon about Percocet after a total knee reconstruction. He was very reluctant to give me Percocet, only letting me take it for a total of two days after the initial three doses of morphene IV's. Tramacet is powerful however not as powerful as Percocet, BUT Percocet withdrawal has the exact symptoms you described. Those were not due to tramacet, those symptoms were due to the fact that your body has become dependant on Percocet. Which is not good. Coming from an EMT-P, even I am reluctant to give my patients Percocet.

2 different drugs. Percocet is Codeine. Tramacet is a synthetic Opiate, highly addictive because it has an antidepressant in it as well. It may help at first but after 12 months your body starts behaving worse. My experience. I spent a month in hospital getting off it. Worse drug I ever took. I suffered serotonin syndrome n physical dependence which I've never had with other pain meds. I refuse to take this s***. Expensive n prescribed to keep honest ppl honest. It can't disintegrate like T3, Endocet, Percocet n the likes. That's why it the pain reliever if choice to prescribe but for chronicpain it's a nightmare once you hit the levels they want you on. Omg im dealing with the same situations as u r. Not sure how to resolve issue. I think doctors r afraid now to prescribe pain killers cuz of new laws and its more paperwork so they don't want the extra work instead of properly caring for their patients. Sucks for all of us who r legit and in pain!

I'm curious; why ppl compare Percocet to Tramacet. I believe doctors r putting everyone on Tramacet.

I've used both n they r totally different. I will never take either.

FYI any time you go from usage of Percocet to something less strong you will have those issues. You have to go completely off the Percocet for 2 weeks before knowing if tramacet works for you I know as my mom was on Percocet and ended up with withdrawal symptoms after a month of use

if you got a headache from switching meds.. its probably due to withdrawal.. especially if you take 4-6 Percocet on a daily basis.

In my opinion stay away from and with Tylenol as it affected my liver count and I am only 39. My levels were 3 x higher. You can always add Tylenol to regular prescription. Tramadol is much better than tramacet which includes Tylenol. I had a neck fusion and just switched from oxycodone to tramadol. I have used it before and honestly it works well for me. All pain needs are addicting so be careful. I did here that they will begin to take away I bupropion and tyl as additives to these pain meds.

My dad is a dr and often the tramacet is written in lower doses because it has Tylenol. Tramadol is often higher in dosage. Just pay attention to the prescription. I'm only mentioning because I went through this and figured it out. I know it's same base medication. Often times people take 2 tablets several times a day and are taking way too much for liver to handle. I was feeling ill and was shocked at how high my liver count was. I stopped Tylenol and it's now normal. I just thought it was a helpful warning. Just ask for 50 mg tramadol not tramacet which includes tyl and take what u need.

Percoset is NOT codeine. Please don't comment unless you're educated. Percoset is 5 mg of Oxycodone and 325 mg of Acetaminophen. Oxycodone is the active ingredient in OxyContin & OxyNEO as well, they're the SR forms. I repeat, Percoset is OXYCODONE NOT CODEINE. It drives me insane when people are misinformed on this because patients that are allergic to codeine will refuse Percoset.

I recently broke my arm, rib and have a class 3 ligament tear in my shoulder. I was given the choice of atasol 30, Tylenol 3 or tramacet. I am on a low dose of methadone of 37 mg. Which would be the better choice, I am having a crazy amount of pain!

hi, you can call people what names you want. but don't forget the fact that is not them doing these things is the addiction that drives them,and the same drugs that you talk about are very addictive, and you should know that everyone reacts differently to the effects of drugs, some are very easy to get hooked and some for no apparent reason harder to get hooked, but at the end we're all going to get hooked if we use them regularly. i wish you well and far from the pain that you're suffering. consider me as a friend, thank you.

My experience with tramacet / tramadol was limited to 3 times for acute pain twice for dental and was given before waking up after having my 2nd penile implant. The actual tramacet can has devastating side effects. I gather not everyone will experience what I did. The dentist prescribed tramacet because I was a new patient and she was reluctant to prescribed Percocet and was told its equally effective. I took 1 dos of 2 tablets I was kinda expecting similar feeling to Percocet boy was I wrong! My head felt so weird and seemed to whine and creek inside my head and was extremely on edge. I took a 2nd dose later that day and started feel very blue/ anxious/ down / kinda outer body feeling and PREOCCUPATION IN COMMITTING SUICIDE. WITHOUT RATIONAL THOUGHT I IMPULSIVELY TOOK ALL THE TRAMACET AND OTHER RX MEDS I TAKE AFTER 10 MINUTES I REALIZED I MIGHT DIE I TOLD MY 3 ROOMMATES WHAT I DID THE EMERGENCY ROOM PUMPED MY STOMACH ABD GAVE ME ACTIVATED CHARCOAL AND AN OPATE ANTIDOTE. I SURVIVED THAT ORDEAL AFTER A FEW DAYS IN PSYCHE. I HAD NO PSYCHE HISTORY AT ALL BUT HAD RELATIVES WITH BI POLAR. I put that ordeal behind me but at the time still confused why I tried TO COMMIT SUICIDE. I DIDN'T MAKE THE CONNECTION TILL THE 2nd time I went to that dentist. I had dental work done and prescribed TRAMACET and later that evening ATTEMPTED SUICIDE BY USING A SERRATED HENKELS STEAK KNIFE AND SAWED THROUGH MY ARTERY (NOT VEINS WHICH MOST ATTENTION SEEKERS DO) OUTSIDE IN EVENING DAYLIGHT EVEN THOUGH NEIGHBORS WERE SHOUTING AT ME BLOOD WAS GUSHING ABD SPRAYING OUTTA MY LEFT WRIST THE NEIGHBORS CALLED 911 AND RCMP AND PARAMEDICS TOOK ME IN TO GET FIXED UP. I AGAIN WAS PUT UNDER OBSERVATION. IN MY 3 DAY OBSERVATION A PSYCHIATRIST SAW MY HOSPITAL RECORDS AND TOLD ME TRAMACET / TRAMADOL WAS THE SOURCE OF IMPULSIVITY TO WANT TO HARM OR KILL MYSELF. OMG I WASN'T CRAZY AFTER ALL. TRAMACET=SUICIDE FOR ME AND APPARENTLY QUITE A LOT OF PEOPLE TAKING IT. SUICIDE IS A SIDE EFFECT OF TRAMACET. IT'S RELATIVELY LATELY DISCOVERED. My third experience I had my 2nd penile implant and was administered TRAMACET IV before I woke up!!!! THE UROLOGIST DIDN'T KNOW MY HISTORY It was just the 1 IV dose and was given morphine and oxycodone once the slip up was discovered. I was discharged after 2nd night. ON THE THIRD NIGHT I WANTED TO TAKE 43 PERCOCETS ABD THEN SECURE A PLASTIC BAG OVER MY HEAD WITH RUBBER BANDS!! I WAS MENTALLY UNSTABLE AND CALLED 911 BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE AND WAS UNDER PSYCHE OBSERVATION FOR 2 DAYS UNTIL THE WEIRD FEELINGS IN MY HEAD PSYCHOLOGICALLY AND THE PSYICALLY WEIRD SENSATIONS IN MY HEAD. TRAMADOL=SUICIDAL THOUGHT OR IMPULSES. DOCTORS DON'T USUALLY KNOW ABOUT THIS WEIRD EFFECT FROM TRAMADOL. DOCTORS SHOULD USE EXTREME CAUTION WITH HIS DRUG AND IF THEY PRESCRIBE IT TO A PATIENT THE DOCTOR FULLY IMFORM THE PATIENT OF THIS POSSIBILITY. WITHDRAWAL FROM PERCOCET MAY NOT FEEL GOOD BUT ITS JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS IT'S A LOT BETTER THAN TRYING TO COMMIT SUICIDE. VERY DANGEROUS DRUG. NEW FDA WARNING IN 2010 ABOUT THE POTENTIAL FOR SUICIDAL IDEATIONS AND ACTIONS. AS FOR PAIN KILLING EFFECS FOR ACUTE PAIN IS MARGINAL COMPARED TO PERCOCET.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and have been on Norco(hydrocodone) since 1998. I have tried other meds and nothing short of morphine works for me. Other drugs relieve some pain but not like Norco.

That's because when your young, and never had opiate pain killers before, they make you nauseous and puke... not that they are a joke. If you got sick off them then a perk would be much worse for you...need to build up a tolerance. Try T3s or do what I do and vaporize some top quality Mary Jane... it won't make the pain go away but it will make your mind disassociate with the pain. It worked better than any pain killer I have ever had and believe me they had me on a ton due to an incredibly horrible car crash I was in.... you should not be taking basically opiates packaged in a nice pill so the biggest drug dealers of them all... pharmaceutical companies!!! make their money and of course the government gets there cut.

All that s*** is poison. Avoid it at all costs. It will ruin your life.
