I have had ulcers (bleeding) but am fine now. Can I take Ibuprofen 600mg? I am concerned that it may cause bleeding again... Also, is ibuprofen 600mg a narcotic? ## No, it is not a narcotic. This medication is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, and, yes, it does increase the risk of bleeding, stomach irritation, and ulceration, or worsening existing ulcers, according to FDA reports. It would be best to check with your doctor to discover what medication is safe for you take. You may need to stick with one that is milder, such as Tylenol/Acetaminophen. what is the difference between liquid and jelly types ## I'am on 75 mcg of fentanyl patch jelly form. I found when i used the other fentanyl patches with the glue all over them i would break out from the glue. So what is the difference between the patches and do they work as well. I was told to use a steroid nasal spray under the patch before applying it, but everyone i've asked has never heard of using the spray before applying patch. So i've decided to just stay with the jelly form. Has anyone else had this problem and do the patches work the same jelly patches versus the ones with glue all over them. I'm still not getting much relief anyway, i've had chronic pain for some time and i'm only 52 but due to all my health problems i really don't have a life any...

I'm just curious if a pharmacist could tell me why they have to "verify" my oxycodone script? when they verify these prescriptions with the prescribing doctor, what exactly is being verified? Does the doctor himself have to take these phone calls all day from pharmacies? if im already in a pharmacies computer and getting same meds for a year, then isnt that adequate proof that my script is legit? or is something else being looked at? I was told today, taking 2 Tylenol and 2 ibuprofen is equivelant to taking morphine for pain! Is there any truth to that? ## Hello, Keith! How are you? No, that is not accurate. Alternating the two, say by taking Tylenol in the morning, then Ibuprofen 8 hours later can sometimes result in better pain relief, because it can help reduce swelling more significantly that just taking one or the other, but it will not be anywhere close to Morphine and doubling up on them, at the same time, could be dangerous, due to the toxic effects they may have on the liver. What is equal in mgs? I have been prescribed a 60 mg. of OxyCotin ER. Now the dr. is suggesting I use 30 mgs. of Morphine Sul ER. Can you give me the mgs. that equals the 60 mg.OxyCotin ER . Was on 360 30mg Oxycodones a month for 5 years. Doctor has now switched me to 240 30mg Oxycodone and 25mcg Fentanyl patches. I seem to be hurting worse since going on the patches. That's very unusual, that would be 12 a day. 240 is still 8 a day, which isn't the typical amount prescribed, either. Fentanyl is much stronger than Oxycodone, but it is a time released patch, so it will not hit you all at once, like the Oxycodone did. Can Oxycodone be given with Xtampza ER for break-thru pain? ## Hi Red - Well, Xtampza is an extended release form of Oxycodone, so I think that technically what you are asking is if you can take both an immediate release and extended release Oxycodone in conjunction with one another? Unfortunately I'm not qualified to answer that without knowing your specific case, but I have read other comments on this site where someone is given one medication for breakthrough pain and another which is extended release. Your doctor or pharmacist should be able to provide some insight, or perhaps your doctor can even give you a proper prescription for a breakthrough pain medication. I was on the Oxycontin 80mg 3x a day for 16 yrs. I have been tried on alot of other things . I went on methadone w/ 2 40mg of oxy then they quit making the methadone that iI took. None of the kadian or other things in that class have worked. I am now taking ms contin 100mg. a day w/15 mg. 2x a day it is not enough and my Dr. who gave me a hard time off and on about the oxy's now refuses to do the irs that are still available with any other meds. Walgreens and Cvs in Tampa FL are not carrying oxycodone or dilaudid. Most pharmacys will fill for cash. Out of curiosity what is stronger Percocet 7.5 (325 mg) or Oxycodone 10 mg Immediate Release (IR)? I know the only difference between these two is one has Acetaminophen and one doesn’t. The 7.5 mg Perc didn’t say if it was IR or (Extended Release) ER. If needed more details I’ll explain replying to your post(s).
