if the 10 mgs of hydrocodone(loracets) are the same as any other pain relievers containing 10 mgs of hydrocodone (ex: narco, loratab....) why do the 10 mg loracets seem to work twice as good as the others. ## Because the different amount of Acetaminophen plays a role, it basically enhances the effects of the narcotic, so it works better. However, they do have to limit the amount of Acetaminophen that is used, because if a person takes too much of it in a day, it can be severely toxic. Thus, these amounts have been carefully formulated to provide safety and efficacy. Are there any other questions or comments? ## not experienced in this field. I have severe back and knee problems... herniated disks,severe nerve damage that cannot be repaired. I also keep getting torn minicus in rt. knee 3 so far 2 surgeries. Nothing else can be done. left leg goes completly numb giving out on me and fell twice so far, last fall I fell down a flight of stairs. Very serious landing on tailbone and lowerc back. I now have a lot of swelling in lower back and right knee. I used to take Roxycode when I had a car accident and it was the only thing that worked.Now I'm taking Norco 10/325 and it works only for an hour or so. I take about 20 (50 milligram) pills a day. I had a pee test done by Dept. of children and families and it came up positive for PCP which I didn't even know what that was and was assuming it was because I take a lot of it every day. I took 100 mg of Tramadol last Thursday and have to have a urine test at my pain doc next Thursday (2 weeks between dosage and test). I have been on 5mg oxycodone 3 to 4 times a day for 2 yrs. 5 days ago i started taking tramadol instead, I am out of the woods yet with the oxycodone addiction ## It can take several weeks for all possible withdrawal symptoms to disappear, especially after being on it for so long, so you should still proceed with caution. For 18 months my pharmacy for 18 months gave me the same white round pill then changed it to a very round light gray pill and don't worry its the same 30 milligrams of oxycodone I've been giving you. I usually have severe abdominal spasms after a rich dinner. They last almost all night. Usually thebpain subsides with Buscopan (butylescopolamine). But doctors sometimes refer no spa (drotaverine). Are there any side effects if I take both together for pain relief and cure? If yes, what would be the advisable dosage? ## I feel mild pains in my lower right side, sometimes to my lower back right side. I did an Abdominal Ultrasound Examination. What excuse can you use to ask the doctor for the pink oxycodone instead of the other ones? ## Hi black, If you can inform the doctor of a legitimate reason as to "why" you would prefer one version over another, then that seems to me like it would be your be your best bet for convincing him/her to change their decision. Usually there are certain inactive ingredients (that may or may not be present in each tablet) that can have an effect on how well your body metabolizes the pill as a whole. And in some cases your body simply responds better to one over the other. Not only that but the addition of Acetaminophen can also lead to liver toxicity with prolonged use. Perhaps this would make for a good debate if he/she questioned you on your reasoning behind wanting to switch tablets. ...

Does anyone know what a green / yellow capsule would be? It was brought back from mexico ## Hi dean, Because there are no "identifiable" markings, it may be difficult to determine what this capsule really contains. However, if you know the person you got it from, they could probably trace it back to a legitimate retailer or distributor who should be able to offer them more specific details on the tablet. Whether or not you can trust them is another story...but maybe some additional clues can help others help you as well in your search. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, you could try asking your doctor to prescribe something without the Acetaminophen in it.
