I am currently on 75mg Fentanyl patch, along with Tramadol,Nuerotin & Methotrexate.(those are just the meds for pain) I have bulging disc pressing on my spinal cord & pinching a nerve. I also suffer from severe arthritis that can eventually become crippling. April 2014 I had a full hysterectomy that required a bladder sling, pelvic mesh,I have been experiencing pain & complications from that surgery. Then in July 2014, I broke my tail bone.Since all these things I have alot of break thru pain. What medication can be prescribed with the fentanyl patch that is safe & can best help manage the pain. I have 14 & 9yr old boys,I would love to be able to thru all their practices & games. The last 2yrs I've had to missed alot of them. Please if anyone has any suggestio...

Hello I have been taking higher and higher doses of Lyrica, now up to 450mg, but I still wake up with that urge to get out of bed. I am back to taking Ultram 50mgX2 as it works without the nausea side effect of Requip. my insurance makes me pay $100 for the RX. Dear doctors, the sensation to get up is the same sensation I feel if I take an antihistamine more than one day. I am very sleepy but I am not allowed to fall asleep. Why does the body do this when I lay down to go to sleep, weight transfer, spine pressure on a nerve? Whats the deal? ## Hello, Matt! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're having such problems. I'm not a doctor, but I can provide you with some information. In most cases, no one knows what causes RLS, it just happens in up to 10% of the U.S. population...

I was in a car accident and had xray's, mri's, etc, surgery on January 22; 3 level diskectomy with cadaver fusion. I still have 3 ruptures in lumbar. My neck is in excruciating pain, my back is bad but definitely secondary. At the hospital they gave me morphine and sent me home with 12hrs of dilaudid. that actually works!!! I am being told I MUST use a pain clinic for narcotics. Then told no one really prescribes dilaudid here. I live in North Melbourne/Viera. PLEASE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR A PAIN DR!? My husband, children, parents and I would GREATLY appreciate it! ## Hello, MG! How are you doing? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. I'm sure there are doctors that prescribe it, but you won't be able to look for one by calling and asking them if they will, because th...

Desperately seeking a new pain management dr or personal care provider in the Tempe/Phoenix/East Valley are that will be considerate enough to let me partake in the "mandatory" drug panels by means other than urinary. I am a spastic paraplegic that is incontinent, I use self catheterization which can produce severe discomfort under normal conditions, let alone from a chair or in an uncomfortable position or place. I have actually been hospitalized for a condition which can be brought on called autonomic dysreflexia (AD). I have been on fentanyl and oxycodone for the last 7 years due to a bullet in my spine. My normal blood pressure is 120/80. My blood pressure has been recorded at 160/122 without the dr taking notice that things were going wrong even after my complaints. 160/122...

I would like to view an oxycodone 30marked k 35. ## Hi Wes, From what I'm seeing online there doesn't appear to be an Oxycodone tablet with K 35 as an imprint, let alone 30mgs. The closest looking Oxycodone 30mg pill I found is round and blue with a marking of K | 9. It's also made by a company called KVK Tech; who would subsequently or seemingly be the maker of any similarly marked Oxycodone pills; however, there are none fit that description which leads me to believe that the marking was possibly misinterpreted based on a counterfeit/foreign/or different type of medication altogether. NOTE: There's also a round yellow over-the-counter pill with a K 35 marking that is reportedly identified as Acetaminophen (194mg) + Aspirin (227mg) + Caffeine (32mg). Any chance this cou...

I'm in alot of pain and recently refilled my script for oxy 30s. It came back with a small round pinkish, purple pills. No markings and and a line down one side. seems to have purple speckles on them. I've looked endlessly to figure out what these are. I refuse to take something that I can't look up first. Please help!!! ## Hello, Jilly! How are you? If there are no markings on them, then they are not Oxycodone tablets. All manufactured prescription tablets in the U.S. are required to have imprints on them to enable their identification in case of emergency. Tablets that are unmarked are usually just over the counter products, of some type. The FDA classifies Oxycodone as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as na...

Hey guys found blue and clear capsules in old bottle, no imprint on cap say they are 10mg ir (codrx)? morphine. Orange powder not beads? I've never seen these are these for real pure morphine? ## Hello, Jim! How are you? If they are very old and have no markings, there's really no way to know, unless you'd pay to have them lab tested. There was time that medications weren't regulated as strictly, so they weren't required to have markings. Additionally, even if they were newer than that, if they were done by a compounding pharmacy, they wouldn't have markings, since they usually use unmarked capsules. The FDA classifies Morphine as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsin...

This is my second day with respect and in the evening I had a real bad headache. I wonder if I can take any pain medication like tylenol? Also while on redotex can I take benadryl or zzzquil which is a sleep aid? ## Hello, Milagros! How are you? Redotex is actually not considered safe to take and the FDA has issued warnings that it be seized at customs and not allowed into the U.S., due to the fact that it contains a dangerous mix of drugs to cause weight loss. It's been found to contain diuretics, laxatives, thyroid hormones, depressants and antihistamines, all of which could also cause problems if you have any existing medical conditions or are on any other medications. It would be best to stop taking it and inform you doctor that you were on it, so they can monitor you for any po...

Have severe pain cancer bone pain and pain from being a laborer ## Hello, Keith! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. If you have cancer, then any doctor should be able to help you. However, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. You'll need to set up an appointment with a doctor, make sure the receive a copy of your recent medical records and then discuss your treatment options at the appointment. Are you seeing an oncologist? Do you have a PCP? If so, either of them should be able to help you. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can a mouth swab test tell which opiates are used? I am prescribed oxycodone but if I had to take a morphine, will it know the difference? I know a urine test can pinpoint which opiates were taken. Can a mouth swab do the same? ## Yes they can tell a difference.. Oxycodone is "semi" - synthetic opiate.. Reason why I say semi is because they do need real opiates in them to be considered opiates.. A mouth swab can get exact chemicals from your body.. They can tell which kind of Oxys you have been taking etc

Michigan seems to be cracking down on oxycodone. I'm new to the area and want to find a doctor who will likely prescribe me oxy for my pain. Can anyone direct me to a dr? ## Pharmacies in Oklahoma carry Rhodes Pharmaceutical 10/325. It's unfortunate how all the drug addicts across the nation are making it hard for those who really need PM to get it. Damn junkies..

My daughter is 11yrs old and had stomache pains can she take this med ## Hi yvonne, Sorry to hear about your daughter's stomach pain. Concerning the use of Butylscopolamine + Paracetamol, the indications do state that it can be used for various types of gastrointestinal diseases, including intestinal spasms/cramps. However - I have yet to come across any dosing instructions specifically laid out for children. My findings only show adult dosing guidelines. So it seems to me like it would probably still be best to contact your doctor just to play it safe. I hope this helps!

These past weeks have been very difficult pain-wise. I fell on ice and injured major joint. I am prescribed Fentanyl 75 (matrix) patches for my DDD/DJD, one every 48 hours. I've cutting one up into quarters to get additional pain relief. I will often use 1/4 extra patch, in addition to the one full patch. Now I cannot tolerate anything less! My pain is bad, but now I'm going to be a little short before next refill. If I tell my Pain Management Doc about this on my appointment, will he kick me out, or will he help me? What I really need is a higher dose for my pain. ## Hello, DNvest! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. It really would have been best to inform your doctor ahead of time that your current dosage was no longer handling your pain. There is no way ...

Is 60 Mgs ER MORPHINE twice daily with three 15 mg breakthrough stronger than 45mg of METHADONE ## Hi Debbie, There really isn't a simple yes or no answer for this type of question, so please correct me if I'm wrong in interpreting this information from an opioid conversion chart linked below (under 'Appendix 1'). According to this chart, 120mgs of Morphine ER is said to be equivalent to 48mg of Methadone? If this holds true, that would mean 60mgs of Morphine ER is equal to 24mg of Methadone. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1163279 One other important thing to take into account aside from this, is that there are various types of clinical considerations that may affect the translation or conversion of drug equivalencies to & from Methadone (such as a weaker generic, ...

This new generic form made me itch from top to bottom all day all night i........is this a heard of side effect from the new generic Med. ## Hello, Auntsansan! How are you? While the active ingredient is the same, the inactive ones can be different from the name brand, so there may be something in this one that you're allergic to. Have you had the itching checked out by your doctor? What are the markings on the ones you're taking? That is what would enable me to check the specific ingredients for you. Can you please post back with this information? The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. Have you tried asking your doctor if they can refer you to someone else? That might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need. Alternatively, you may want to call Medicaid and see if they have a list of doctors in your area that accept it.
