While the active ingredient is the same, the inactive ones can be different from the name brand, so there may be something in this one that you're allergic to.
Have you had the itching checked out by your doctor?
What are the markings on the ones you're taking? That is what would enable me to check the specific ingredients for you. Can you please post back with this information?
The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
