Hi, I started the Tylenol 3 because I feel jittery on Norco 5/325. I've found it is mild, but better to take for pain while I'm at work. Is it okay to take one tab twice a day of Tylenol 3, then in early evening take one 5/325 Norco? The Norco works better for the pain, but don't want to take that at work. ## Yes. Any suggestions for something stronger than vicodin? It really doesn't work anymore. I take two 7.5mg doses every 4 hours 3 x a day and A LOT of motrin. ## Wow! Does your doctor know that you are taking the Vicodin and Motrin? It is really not good to be taking both of those. The Vicodin contains Acetaminophen and the Motrin contains Ibuprofen. As to what else you can use for pain, there are many other options on the market, if the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin is no longer cutting it. One option that would be stronger is Percocet, which contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. My father turned 74 on May 2, he had a kidney stone broke up with the laser procedure and a stint put in to help him pass the pieces of the broken up stone. His doctor gave him Percocet 7.5 with directions of "take 1 to 2 pills every 4 hours as needed for pain. He's taken 35 pills in the span of (Friday 3p.m. to now Wednesday night 11p.m.) and he still has 15 more left. Is this too many or too much for him to be taking? ## That averages out to not quite 6 pills a day, so he is taking them as directed according to prescribing info you've provided. I have severe spinal stenosis and herniated disks with the MRI to prove it. I had a doctors prescribe me heavy opiods for 4 years before disappearing without notice. Every pain management doctor I've called or gone to will not write any scripts. They want to do injections, which I'm all for, but I have to wait two weeks for insurance approval and I'm in a ton of pain now. I cannot find a doctor to help me. would like to know how the pill look ## Hi tuffy, If you run a search on google images for "vicodin 5 500", you'll come across a number of photos that accurately depict the different shapes and colors that these particular pills come in. Most however, tend to be white and oblong shaped. All Mallinckrodt brands & Qualitest brands of prescription only narcotic pain relievers need to be tested immediately only from the already shipped out from the manufacturer level from customers who have just walked out of the pharmacies with it so as to get a researchTRUE reading of he almost zero and possibly most likely 0 to 2 mg reading from a 10 mg pill. I was just given this med Oxycontin10mg twice a day by my dr for pain but I don't know how long until it starts working. I have Vicodin but I don't really know how much of it I should take to help with the pain. I have only taken one dose of the oxy ## Oxycontin is a time released formulation of Oxycodone and it will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes, after you take it, to start working. Then it is slowly released for approximately 12 hours. As to the Vicodin, you shouldn't take more of that than what your doctor, or pharmacist has instructed. It is generally one, every 4 to 6 hours, as needed. I supposedly tested positive for Fetanyl and Xanax on my first drug screen at my first appt. She says I wasn't under her care previously and she is not discharging me but I did not do either substances EVER. My pm doc prescribes Percocet 7.5 mg 3x a day. I also take Gabapentin, Zoloft, Buspar and Meloxicam and occasionally Trazodone and Flexeril. Not daily for those. I don't think it's likely that I tested positive for both of these substances and they sounded way TOO determined that I was guilty which didn't add up.
