How much hydrocodone is equivalent to a 75mcg fentanyl patch every 48hrs? I'm trying to replace my patch with oral hydrocodone. ## With regards to medication equivalency, I feel that there is no effective way to compare Hydrocodone and Fentanyl on a milligram to microgram basis. Not only does each individual react/respond differently to the same substances, but we also have to factor in the numerous binders and fillers which affect absorption/bioavailability, the variances across each manufacturer's quality assurance, tolerance, weight, one's unique level of pain (that fluctuates intermittently throughout the day), and most importantly the route of administration (transdermal vs orally)... Working closely with your doctor through trial and error may help you determine an eff...

My husband is on a 12 mcg ratio-fentanyl patch every 3 days for pain management..I've noticed there is writing on the patch when I put it on him, & when I take it off, the writing is gone..I assume that's the way it's supposed to work.. The patches in the last box still had ALL the writing on them when I removed them, & he hasn't been feeling well for over a week or so..I opened a new box & it's doing the same thing- - writing still there..I plan to contact the company, but it's a holliday here, drugstore, doctor, all unavailable..Any ideas ?? Is the writing a clue that the patch is, or isn't working ?? ## I have never heard of a patch that used such a thing to show that it was working. It may help if I could check it out more closely, what countr...

I was administered Dilaudid at the hospital last night around 6pm. Can i take tylenol 3 now? I have sickle cell anemia disease. ## How long ago were you given the Dilaudid? I'm sorry, but there is no time stamp on these posts. Can you please post back and clarify? The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications?

I took a tylenol 3 because I've been having major abdominal pains. It was from an old prescription of mine. But the pain hasn't stopped and I think I may need to go to the hospital. But I don't want to be labeled as a drug addict since I am not one, (seeing as the medicine was my own - just old), so about how long until I can pass a blood test? The hospital always takes blood from me when I'm there. ## Dont worry .. you dontbhave to give fine details .. just tell them the truth , pain Hurt so bad and you took a pill from an old prescription, and did not work. . End of details , ..that is normal you were in desperate pain relief mode. ## I missed my pain dr appt and they didn't have another scheduled for ONE month! It is described as being a yellow, round, flat tablet with OX over 15 on one side and APO on the opposite. My doctor has me taking norco 10 325 every 4 hours for pain. I have tramadol as well. The tramadol feels like it does absolutely nothing. Because the tramadol doesn't give me a high feeling I thought it might be better to take. Will tramadol work as well as norco and if so, at what dose? I just want to get rid of the pain!! ## It really depends on you, how much does the high feeling affect you? Because it will eventually wear off, as your body gets used to the medication. It is just a side effect. However, it is one of the reasons that some people end up abusing certain medications, they like that high feeling, so they keep taking more and more of it to get it back, whenever it wears off. And no, the Tramadol will not work as well, it's not anywhere near as effective as the othe...

I been taking 4 10 mg. loratab for years for broke back. This month I ran out. I got urine test in 5 days will it still be in my system as needed for urine test? ## The chances of hydrocodone (lortab) being detected in urine after not taking for 5 days is slim to none. Lortab is fast acting and leaves the system quite quickly. Sorry. ## Pain can be variable. As a virtually undiagnosable "migraine" victim, I know. I could go from 0 pain to Dilaudid 4mg pain within 24 hours. (Turns out I had pieces of 12 disparate diagnoses. Since I'm a shrink, too, my two shrinks insisted I participate in the tx plan, which was a good move. Miraculously, they disappeared with only one recurrence about 10 years ago.) Most docs aren't orgres and Hydrocodone isn't a world-class analgesic...

Need a doctor that takes Georgia Medicaid in N.W. Georgia who's not afraid to prescribe oxycodone for a disabled older man with 3 herniated disks in my back. ## Hello, Johnny! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. If you require such a medication on a long-term, ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist, due to the new regulations that were enacted last year. Those regulations also mean that all doctors may be very cautious about what they prescribe and why they prescribe it, or they risk losing their license to practice medicine, as well as possible fines and jail time. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do...

Used it when I had my total knee. Two syllables, I think. Can't take most pain meds, so need to find out. ## Do you remember the pharmacy that filled it for you? They would still have the records in their computer and should be able to look back and provide you with the information. Off the top of my head, the only pain reliever I can think of that starts with a T that is commonly used is Tramadol, it's a centrally acting analgesic, though it is related to opiates and causes similar side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more: Does that sound familiar? ## I thought it had two syllables. Don't recall what pharmacy I used then. Guess the orthopedist's record would have it. ## Talwin? I took this 40 years ago for a 2nd degree burn. Only 2...

Can this pill imprinted "no24" be used for my husband's toothache? He really is in a lot of pain. ## This tablet is manufactured by Northstar RX and they list it as containing 50mgs of Tramadol, which is an opioid that is used to treat moderate to severe pain. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. I have one white oblong pill with an imprint/stamp of a (small) l & the #'s 484. Came back as oxycodone 10 mgs first, but then acetaminophen 500 mgs. Which is correct? ## This is an over the counter medication that is listed by the FDA as containing 500mgs of Acetaminophen. It is a generic or store brand of Tylenol, often carried by various stores owned by the Kroger Company. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and headache.

Can I take half of my prescribed 30mg Percocet dose if it is my first time taking this medication? It is for tooth pain in the back of my mouth. ## There is no Percocet that contains 30mgs of Oxycodone, the maximum dose contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, dry mouth, and constipation. I took two tablets, one at a time, 4 hrs a part for pain killer. I had some acidic food on that day and also on following day (pickles). I got gastric symptom on the third day, It seems very strong for someones. Not for pain killer, paracetamol better of aspirin PH8 is much better. ## Between the Aspirin and the foods you ate, it is normal that you would experience some gastric symptoms, according to NIH reports. All of those are acidic and can be very harsh on your stomach. Has there been any change, yet? Are you on any other medications? Have you considered altering your diet to avoid these acidic foods?

I took 2 Naproxen 200mg earlier today. Can i take 2 Tylenol tabs for a slight headache? ## Since both medications can be used to treat the same conditions, it is best not to combine them, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. How are you doing? Was there any change to the headache? Are you on any other medications?

Wow. If u want to judge ppl stop a blog that no one will read. If u want to act like someones mom do it somewhere that ppl dont look for real life answers ## Amen! For years I have been taking Watson brand Percocet 10/325 6 tablets daily. A few months ago I went to fill the prescription and was given Endocet by Endo Pharm. and told it was a generic they had, so I agree to take it. Then last month when I went to get the same script filled I was given Oxycodone/Acet by Actavis and told it is the generic brand but the company bought out Watson and that is why Watson is no longer available. Again, agreed but shortly after taking them I started to notices slight shortness of breath, fast heat beat, extreme dizziness, fall asleep within 30 minutes after taking them, less energy and still having pain. I never felt this way when on Watson and if they are saying it's the same company why am I having theses symptoms? I always take 6 a day, but with thes...

The magnesium sterate is it plant based or pork ? ## Where can I find Hydroocodone made by Watson in Atlanta GA. Is Watson still manufacturing them since they lowered the Tylenol dosage? ## @Peggy, Based on my research, Watson doesn't appear to list these types of details on their webpage. However, what I am finding is that most drug manufacturers who do use Magnesium stearate as a filler in their tablets, also derive/source it from beef. If you have any reservations about this, it may be best to talk with your doctor or pharmacist about any allergies you might have to certain types of animal products. This way problems like that can be avoided in subsequent prescriptions. For additional product information you can also reach the manufacturer directly at: +1 (800) 272-5525 @Rebecca,...
