There are some other alernatives that are, such as Gabapentin, the generic version of Neurontin, which is approved to treat the same conditions. Have you tried talking to your doctor about this? this pill is coated and the letter L is in black on the top... I am not sure it is a prescription drug or over the counter. The pill is 3/8 round and the top and botom are not flat. ## what is it?? did you ever find out ## Is an L the only marking or are there any additional numbers or letters? ## It turned out not be a prescription at all... I found a small bottle of 81 mg aspirin and that was it (why it had an 'L' on it, don't know). Funny how it happened... I saw another of those pills on the floor near the breakfast table and started to search and found the bottle in my husband's pantry where he certain foods stuff that he likes.
