Oxycodone 30mg Pain Clinics (Page 45)
Updatedi have been having trouble getting a good dr who will write oxycodone 30 mg. my back has been broken before and i was going all the way to Florida (a 16 hour drive) just to get my meds. So if anybody knows of any it would be helpful. i live in KY so as long as it is closer that's fine. Thank you.
An alcoholic cop husband is the scariest thing you wrote; very comforting. I bet the wolves were easier. The reason doctors can't write pain meds for more than 50 percent of their patients is that they would have to register as a pain clinic. The three states around you are scared of the state medical boards. The lawmakers have all been trying to help me but the medical board is scaring away our doctors. Some have just closed their practice. Mine move several miles away but I'll make the trip rather than start over. They're going to try for botox injections because they stop muscle spasms (if you aren't allergic). The insurance company says if it's coded correctly they can do it. It's 28 shots in to the muscle every three months but nothing compared to the pain. If that doesn't work, I'm going to IL. The medical boards are just going into a doctor's office and pulling records at random. Even if the meds work for you and you've never failed a drug test; you pill count is right and you use only pharmacy, if they think it sounds like a strange regimen the doctor has to go to court to defend it. Most get off but it's not much fun and extremely stressful on the doctor. They honestly don't want to stop helping their patients (most, at least) and the lawmakers have been very helpful to me. I can't say the same for the medical board. They're tough and don't care about you as a person in pain. There are nine states (at last count) that are just trying to get the numbers down on the pain patients. They want bragging rights in the papers but the lawmakers are disgusted with this too. I know that doesn't help but explains a little. Finding a state without those new laws are basically your only hope or you start getting injections. In my case I had them all and they didn't work except I haven't tried the botox. Also many of them are insisting on wasting health insurance money by requiring yearly tests, a psychologist visit, and PT. When you've had pain for 18 years (in my case) you've pretty much been through all that and you know what will give you a life. Demographics don't care.
I live in the lexington area of ky I've had cancer and I have back problems my dr of three years just quit seeing people for pain so I have nowhere to go please help
your a pharmacist nightmare
To Over it - you got it. The law makers know it was a bad move but the KY medical board stands behind it because "too many people were overdosing on pain pills". I never heard of any. I do know that they are making meth like crazy but who is worried about that. It's easier to focus on legitimate doctors and patients with legitimate pain. Little bitterness here about the KY medical board. Doctor knows I need the meds; insurance doesn't care; pharmacist doesn't care but the medical board think they know my needs best.
@ ladyann I would like info about the doctor in Lexington if you can share or point in into the right way on here
Do you want to info on the only one that still does medication? Most have closed their practice or have changed to injections only. They were good doctors but couldn't take the pressure. The one mentioned a few posts back wasn't good, but some were great. The one that is in Lexington now is on Nicholasville Road. It's easy to find info on the internet. However, you have to have a referral and you're told to get their fifteen minutes early but you wait at least an hour or more for a u.a. Then you wait longer and nurse (male of female- but it doesn't make a difference). Mine was male; I think he is with the doctor I saw which once was a good doctor. My other doctor said he is a good guy; he's just got caught up in all this. The male nurse asked me questions I had already answered, didn't believe me that I don't drink, smoke of drink caffeine and made me feel like dirt. I told them my previous records had been sent there. He quickly pulled up the tab and glanced at them and scoffed and said that wasn't even legal. My other doctor and numerous lawmakers have told me that there was nothing illegal about them, if the patient needs them and it can be documented. The doctor came in and said my previous doctor was a good guy. The nurse acted like he agreed. The doctor barely glanced at my records. They didn't take my vitals, and didn't examine me. I tried to get him to at least glance at my back but he wouldn't. I barely got in a word. He said, "Get your pills down to five a day. Stop your muscle relaxers but you will have withdrawals, and come back in December. You will have to have an MRI, CAT scan and see a psychologist and physical therapy every year. I will give you five pills a day." I tried to protest and ask him to read my records and he said that was what he had to do. (It's not according to the law) Then he said he was following the rules of the owner but the nurse had told me that doctor was the owner. He would have given me five pills that day with no examination but I told him I didn't need them yet. Oh, you have to see him every month. In less than two minutes he was gone and the nurse asked how to write it up. Then I got the information from the insurance company. It was for over 1,200.00 just for everything I said. The coding on the back included some labs but as I said, they never even took my vitals. I got the information from my insurance company on the insurance labs and it was for over $600. I was told the required u.a only costs $49. Two weeks later I got more information that the doctor had billed for an additional $600 plus on labs but they never did any. All together they billed over $2,000 for that visit but of course, my insurance company didn't pay that much but they still paid too much and it was for work that was never done. But as I said, it's a pain clinic on Nicholas Road, across from Central Baptist hospital but not straight across. If you're coming in from the Lexington part, you will past the hospital first. If you're coming from New Circle, it's before you get to the hospital. I doubt they ever read the results of those tests they require, but if you're will to spend a couple of hours waiting, pay that much money (or have your insurance pay what they will) you can be prescribed at least 5 hydrocodone pills a day. You have to follow those rules and usually they don't examine you; go on the bases of your old records, they will write the prescription every month. He said that he thought there was too great of a chance of you getting hit over the head by someone stealing your medication if he gave more than five. That's crazy because if someone wants drugs badly enough they will do that for eight, five or one. Just look for the pain clinic on Nicholasville road on the internet and you will see the name, the address, phone number and even pictures of the doctors. If they have removed that page, let me know and I will try to give you information in a different way. Good luck.
Can I get the info
I replied and didn't think I said anything too specific but my reply hasn't shown up on here. I'll try again. Look on the internet for pain clinics in Lexington KY. It's on Nicholasville Road and if across from Central Baptist but up (or down, depending on your direction) from the hospital. It's like 1731 or some similar number. They have several doctors on staff. The waiting room is stuffed and you wait one or two hours to do a urine test. Then you wait longer to see a nurse, who has no compassion and then the doctor. They did not take my vital or examine me. He would have written out the script for five hydrocodone 10's but I said I didn't need them until this month. He told me to get my current medications down to five (from eight) and to stop taking my muscle relaxer but I would have withdrawals from that. Then he said that I would be require to have yearly PT, an MRI, a CAT scan and see a psychologist. I would have to come in every month but I would get five pills per day. I was not examined; only had the urine test and a lady sitting next to me, told me it was always that way. If you have your records, they will do a script for the amount I said and if you follow those rules (whether they read them or not). I didn't see the nurse very long and saw the doctor less but they sent my insurance company two bills; one for over twelve hundred dollars and one for over six hundred dollars. Those bills were coded with labs but I did nothing but listen to them talk for about five minutes. The lab on the urine test was also over six hundred dollars. My insurance doesn't pay that much but they paid more than they have to any other doctor or lab. The reason he gave me for getting my pills down by three was that I would be less likely to be hit over the head for my meds. Strange reason - like three pills would make a difference. Three pills makes a difference for THEM with the KY medical board. Hope this one works. Post again if you need me to try again.
Thank you. I was going to Central Kentucky off Nicholasville but they keep changing doctor and hear that the DEA was in there but that doctor in their now is a smart butt. I was only getting 100 psychosis per month. Maybe they can.help
My previous doctor said the doctor that I saw was a good guy but he's got caught up in all this "stuff". But he will prescribe that medication if you follow those guidelines. My previous doctor was on Nicholasville Rd also. I really like him but he is giving up and going to a hospital to give injections. It might have been the same one. I'm following my former doctor. May not see much of him but at least he know my case and can be a help so I don't have to start over. It's scary for all of us. Good luck.
just so happens I'm allergic to Ibuprophen,,,, sulfa drugs and morphine so I'm scared to try different meds.. I need more than a pain clinic because i havent been diagnosed with all the injuries.. and he drunk cop is an x for yrs now and the wolves were so easy as long as you have full blooded and not the hybrids.. best animals ive ever had.. raised 2 and aunt and neice that were 5 and 6 generations captive bread, but i was the first and last human to touch them both, god I miss them, the younger died at 9 and the older at 13... but what a responsibility... vets ha ha ha, afraid of em, and vacations are out cause you cant board them for fear ppl have and they adopt you as pack members so they wont eat unless their mamma feeds them... but they knew me inside and out, could read me better than my parents or kids.. any info you can give on the doc issue I'd appreciate... thanks so much n have a great christmas
I'm allergic to morophine and methdone too. Sounds like you do need a pain clinic. I'm not sure what's in your area, but I'm making the drive to the pain clinic in Somerset. They aren't going to give you drugs; they will try to find your problem. Maybe if you need medication they will give some but I'm not sure. I do know they will try different types of injections. It does sound like a strange medication they put you on. I'm not sure about the whole thing there but I know they will have at least one doctor on staff that's good. You probably need to have your records. I don't think my doctor would go there if they weren't good. I think you start off seeing a NP and they send you further to the doctor that you need. I haven't been there yet but that's what I've been told. I'm not sure if you need a referral or not. I believe it's the only pain clinic in that town and it's in the hospital.
Just re-read your message Vanna. We weren't going to the same doctor because there was only one doctor where I went. Good luck with the new ones. My doctor said he had a friend that the Medical Board came in and pulled files and even went to his house. He said as far as he knew that doctor was not a pill pusher but we're all on here because our doctors are scared too. My doctor never got sanctioned or lost his license but he did have to go explain cases a couple of times because the medical board, having never seen the patients, didn't agree with the treatment. He was always able to explain it but they're checking hard these days. My doctor said that it's very stressful and I can't imagine what they are going through. It's really rough on the good ones that are trying to do whats right but have someone looking over there shoulder at any time.
Email me,
Wish we could all talk but they don't let that happen. Remember when we could just yell at each other and it was so easy. Of course, I had a guy that I wanted to report but didn't know where he was because he thought I as a teenager. he was a pedophile. He said it was innocent; just internet stuff but I think he was weird. He was in his fifties and emailing young teenage girls. I got rid of him but I kept that account. I'm getting nervous. My appointment is next month at the pain clinic. I don't know if I'm going to get botox injections or not and I scared of going through withdrawals.
