Since I started the 60mg op I have been feeling lots of discomfort in my chest, like pressure against my heart like a heart attack, but what I think is going on is it's backing up my bowels causing all this discomfort I never felt when I was just on norco. I've read here where op causes constipation, I'm wondering if this could be the reason for all the discomfort I'm in? I've noticed a change in my bowel movements, like smaller sized stools, not nearly as much is coming out like it used to do. Should I consider using a stool softener or a laxative to see if my discomfort subsides or should I head to the ER and say I'm having a heart attack only to find out I've got side effects happening related to this new drug I'm on? Hello, I am new to Newport News, Hampton, VA. I have been under the care of US Military for almost 15 years. When my husband retired from the Army and move back to Virginia. I was cut off of my pain medication. I was told that they will not be taking care of my long term chronic pain, that it was for active duty only. I was in shock. I was seriously injured after 18 years of owning and installing wallpaper working with liquid herbicide, pesticide, plasticizers, vinyl acetate. It destroyed my hands and feet, it comes out in the form of hundreds of blisters, peripheral neuropathy: toxic neuropathy, toxic encephalopathy,severe dermatitis of both hands and feet, bladder damage, chronic fatigue syndrome, reactive airway disease. Can anyone tell me if Xtampza works the same as oxycontin, and strength comparisons of mg between the two? If I take 60mg of oxycontin what would be equivalent for the Xtampza? ok I was on oxycontin60 + oxycodone15mg moved...then i was taken off the oxycontin and they gave me oxycodone STILL. I misused oxycodone. took too many and ran out. Someone gave me suboxone, took 16mg 8 at 11 AM 8 at 5PM. this is in reply to all who are complaining to the new oxycontin 80 OP. I have been takeing them for 2 years now. My last scrip is still the OC. I pray they are pulled before we get them here. There are other meds we all can go to such as the fent. Patch which comes in a lolly pop too. I bet they will be pulled & back to the old ones before the year is out ## Pharmacies are allowed to continue to dispense the original product, until their stocks runs out, then all will only be able to get the new Oxycontin OP. I'm a 46yr old mother to a daughter who has a rare disease and has had twelve brain surgeries. I was involved in a bad car wreck in 1985. Ironically, I had just turned fifteen two days previously. I've had multiple back surgeries, many trips to Dr's. I went a pain Dr. 3X's a week for a whole year. They would have start IV's and the whole spill. Found two small, round, white pills. I know generic oxy can be white. One has a KU on one side and perforation on the other side (along with something you can't read.. seems to be a O or a zero). The other pill has no perforation, but has PA on one side, and 308 on the other. Have been taking OxyContin 5mg every 12 hours for about a year. How difficult to come off this drug? Am very tired and the dosage is not enough now. Don't want to take them any more. ## I think you'll be fine. If you are truly on only 10 mg a day, total, that is a crazy low dosage, and of course that wouldn't do anything for you really. Oxycodone is the drug in OxyContin,same as Percocet or Oxycodone IR except OxyContin is made to be time release. Most people with chronic pain are started out on 10 mg 3 times a day, which is a total of 30 mg per day. Even on 30 mg. I think withdrawal would be minimal.
