is a 80mg op stronger then a 30mg perk ## The OP, as you call them are Oxycontin, which is a time released formulation of Oxycodone and, in this case, that would be an 80mg dosage. Percocet contains a combination of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen and it is only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone, there is no 30mg dosage of it available. Can a urine test pick up the difference between 1 OP 30mg Oxycontin and Oxycodone 7.5/325, which is my regular prescription? ## It can't tell the difference. Both pills contain oxycodone as their drug. The only difference in the two pills is their time release matrix in the OxyContin. Both drugs break down into the same chemicals in the urine. OxyMorphone is a different story I'm trying to figure out.

I live in Virginia. Lynchburg VA 24501 to be exact. I've been on opiates 15+ years now and my doctor is retiring in 3 months. I found 2 pills both are green the larger one has D on one side and the #1 on the other side. The smaller one is round, green and either a W or and an M on the other side ## are these OxyContin or oxycodone. ## Hello, Squirt! How are you? My son had knee surgery. He has been struggling with nausea. He was able to eat some crackers and sip water. Concerned that his pain block was wearing off he took 10mg of the prescribed OxyContin. He threw up 29 minutes later. I am concerned that this wasn't enough time for it to get in his system. I left a message for his doctor, but he hasn't returned the phone call- after hours on a Friday. ## Oxycontin is a time released formulation, so the medication is slowly released over a period of 12 hours. There is Oxycontin, which should have an OP on one side and 40 on the other side of the tablet, which is manufactured by Purdue Pharma and there is Xartemis, which is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, I believe there are couple others the FDA has approved, but they are not commonly available, yet. I live in NE WA State and have Interstitial Cystitis and have been dropped by my doctor for no good reason. I have been a good patient, have never failed a U/A, and always came to my appointments. They said they were being "nice" to give me 30 days worth of pills to find a new doc.. Well, those 30 days are past and I have called all over the place. No one will take a chronic pain patient! I can't believe this! What country are we living in? If anyone has any suggestions, please, please let me know! I've stretched my pills that are left just about as far as they will go. I take Oxycontin 30mg 3 x day, and Hydrocodone 10mg 4 x a day. I cannot face the pain that will come when I run out.

I have oxycontin 15 mg for cancer pain. Finding it difficult to determine how much is released into the bloodstream at intervals. Does it 'peak' at a certain time? Even if you try to crush it, it retains its time released function. Side effects still include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth.
