I was prescribed methadone for my back injury a few months ago. My prescription was stolen and i was withdrawling from it badly. Today is Thursday - on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, I took suboxone 8 mg/2 mg each day....will this show up in a mouth swab drug test? My mouth was dry because i had just woke up, I'm not sure if that will have any effect. I normally never take it, i just felt so sick to my stomach, i couldnt take it any longer. Please help ## No. Suboxone requires a separate test. The "stolen script" story? Baby, that's for amateurs. I would leave that out. Along with cat spilled open bottle into sink, "junkie" relatives, etc etc. They've heard it all. Good luck ## Only if they specifically test for the suboxone. Which they usually don't. I wo...
I've been on methadone now for 3 years. I go 2 times a month. I just got on iss and medicaid. I need to find a clinic that takes it. Please help. ## Have you tried asking your current clinic, or a local social worker to recommend one? I can find listings for clinics in various areas, but this site doesn't have any information on what insurance they accept. Do you have a regular doctor? They may also be able to help you find a clinic that accepts it. ## Where in Texas are you? ## they all take medicade/medical, any insurance as well. well you know here in Ca. they take it. Texas I knew people that was on that for more than 20 years they didn't pay medical paid for it. The state paid. ## Looking in harlingen tx for a Dr that prescribes methadone... My Regular Doctor is on vacation and another doctor is taking my medicine (200mg morphine sulfate er and 15mg ir. And 30mg of oxazepam I use for bad migraines) away , putting me on Suboxone....I've researched it , doesn't sound to nice, lots of side effects and pretty severe! Kinda scared of it, and she said that I need to be in withdrawels before the Suboxone will work. ....ANOTHER BIG PROBLEM, and I would like to know if Anyone has had this happen.......new script for 100mg er pills from Rhodes pharmaceuticals, some worked and most of them didn't. This new Dr said"I've never heard of that ",so I handed her a recall letter about a different medication used for gut cramps.....now I know why those didn't work either...anyways I'm waiting for a reply from Rho...
I currently take methadone for pain but my dosage just isn't cutting it anymore so i keep running out bc the doctor doesn't want to increase it, EVEN THO the label clearly says "if you feel your medication is not controlling your pain, your dose may need increased" due to a tolerance build up. I've been on pain pills for years and have taken a ton of different meds just to find ONE that actually WORKED! It took forever. My doc was retiring and me and his "colleague" did NOT get along, so i had to give a new doctor that would keep me on my current treatment. Well when i called new office and explained to them that i was currently taking 80mg Oxycontin 3x's a day, with 30mg Oxycodine for break thru. So they shrunken me an appt but flat out told me "ther...
Updated in Methadoneis there any difference; longer lasting, stronger, etc. in the 54 142 and the 57 71 10mg methadone ## Both of these pills appear to be exactly the same aside from having different manufacturers. Both pills contain 10 mg of Methadone hydrochloride. Neither of these are extended release or stronger than the other. M 57 71 is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. 54 142 is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories, Inc. Do you have any other questions or comments to add? Please post back if you do. ## I guess everybody is different because the 57 71 lasts longer for me. I found my self taking the 54 142 sooner rather than later compared to the 57 71. ## Hi Jeff, You may also want to take into account your dietary intake before you take these pills. Consuming a meal (prior to taking the m...
I have been taking maintenance methadone for three years at 170 mg I have surgery in 2 weeks I am scare if the surgeon knows he w I all not give me anything for pain. I have been in horrible pain this past year and methadone don't help. ## Hello, Lo! How are you? It is very, very risky to undergo surgery and not tell your surgeon that you're on this medication. You really need to do that, immediately, otherwise you could be putting your own life at risk. They will still treat your pain, don't be worried that won't. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Ho I'm very scared I have surgery in 4 days ...
Hello, I am currently 32 weeks pregnant, I am prescribed 10 mg Subutex a day, but really only take an average of 4 mg a day, sometimes less. I really had my mind set on coming off completely before I deliver and my doctor is 100% ok with me doing that if I feel comfortable doing it myself. I'm looking for success stories. So if you tapered off while pregnant please, your reassurance would mean so much to me. I have trouble sleeping because my guilt eats me alive ?? Please let me know there is hope and that coming off subutex completely before delievering my baby girl is possible! Thank you! -B ## Hey i see there's no replies yet but i wanted to offer some words, not sure if ill help much. My daughter is 15 months. I got pregnant unexpectedly so i had not gotten off subutex 8mg a...
it is a squared shape and it has a m inscribed on one side of it w/ a box around it on the other side it has the numbers 57 71 ## What you are describing is actually the 10 mg of Methadone (generic equivalent) manufactured by Mallinckrodt. Here is an image depicting various possible appearances of this drug ... Do you have any other questions or information to add? Hi. Bit of a random one, but basically I am considering signing up for a clinical trial that involves being dosed with buprenorphine and narolex. The trial involves receiving 100mg of narolex the day before dosing, which is an IV dose of buprenorphine, and then 50 mg of narolex for the best 3 days. I don't actually know the exact dose of buprenorphine atm (I will find out soon) so I guess this could make my question a bit difficult to answer, but basically I was wondering what level of side effects to expect from this? Obviously I know the narolex is designed to block the action of opoids, but should I still expect significant side effects from buprenorphine, ie nausea, as well as perhaps from the narolex itself? I have never used opoids before, so will have no form of tolerance. Al...
I haven't taken any drugs lately but I did take a quarter of a 8mg suboxone strip this morning (saturday). I may now have to take a UA for probation come Monday, maybe Tuesday. What's the chance I'll pass? It seems to stay in your system from what I hear. Please help! ## Yes shows for 8 days or longer.....dry I got busted too.... ## Tomorrow morning at 8 am I am going to pain management doctor. I might have to take a urine test. I only took a quarter of a 2mg hence .5 mg this morning. I think it will show up from what I'm reading on the internet but if it doesn't I'll definitely post it tomorrow

I'm just looking for a bit of insight. I've been on methadone for about a year and a half now, but have been tapering for the past couple months. The most I've been on is 60mg, but I went down to 35mg after about 8 months of being on methadone in general. I went down 3mg a week from 35mg until I reached 20mg, then from there I have done 1mg per week. I know it seems like a while, but I think that was a really good choice for me. I have accidentally missed two days worth of a dose one time due to the weekend and I literally felt like dying. I starting withdrawing after only one day and was puking up stomach bile that very night. I am currently at 10mg, still going down 1mg per week from here on out. I want to know what I should expect as far as withdrawal symptoms go after I ...
Updated in MethadoneI have been on suboxone for almost two years now and have to pay $150 out of my disability, Medicaid covers the prescription but I was shot and am now partially paralyzed from the waist down n it doesn't really help with the pain, does anyone know if tri county methadone clinic accepts medicaid? My friend has been going there for three years n he says they do n they pay for the gas money it takes to get up there I think if it's under ten miles they give u $180 if it is over ten miles they send u close to $300, does anyone know if that's true or not, plus it would be hard for me to get there cuz I'm in a wheelchair due to the gunshot wound but I'm willing to give someone the card if they can help me get up there everyday,,, let me know asap plz
Updated in Methadonei am prescribed methadone, xanax, zanaflex, & gabapentin. Took a klonopin and 1 Norco. Shown positive for morphine & oxycodone. Have NOT taken these - what would make me show positive for the morphine and oxycodone??? I am truly a wreck over this... I am so afraid I am going to lose my PCP. PLEASE HELP ME... I HAVE NOT TAKEN EITHER OF THOSE DRUGS. ## Hmmmm, the medications which you are prescribed and/or the norco is kind of similar to the ones which you tested positive for. Just bring in documentation showing what you are prescribed and hopefully they will conclude that you most likely tested positive for substances based on those. Of course I can't guarantee that because maybe the test you took was very specific for certain types of opiates. I'm hoping for your sake it...
Has federal funding for methadone decreased since the "opiodemic"? I started taking opiates in 1992 because of extreme pain in my hip which I had suffered with since 1979. The medical profession gave me NSAID's and a small script for Tylenol-3. I have since had 2 hip replacements. I am 59 yrs old. I was on and off methadone for years and have been on it steady for 10 years and stayed clean. During this time I have gone from paying $0 to what will start next month at $360.00/mo. ## Manufacturers are free to set their own prices in the U.S. according to supply and demand. Thus, it really has nothing to do with federal regulations, but more to do with market competition and capitalism. The FDA warns that Methadone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effec...
My Dr has been holding my meds. If I miss a day at the clinic then as punishment they hold the following day's worth, but from my understanding they should not be doing that while I'm pregnant? ## While it may not be the best thing to do, while someone is pregnant, no doctor is required to provide you with any treatment, or medication, unless you, or your baby are in immediate life threatening danger. Thus, they can refuse to treat you, or provide a medication, any time they see fit. I know this doesn't help you, I'm just telling you the way the laws currently stand. Why have you been missing appointments? Are they not willing to accommodate you for when you need to go in? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effec...
I got an RX for suboxone the other day and i will be finishing up all my norco and starting subs later tonight. I have been taking norco for about 4 years and i can take up to 60 pills of 10mg norco in a day! i take 4 at a time and keep taking them until i feel normal. my tolerance is incredibly high. so in the morning ill usually take up to 20 and i will be good until later. then at night same routine and usually more then 20 and i still function completely normal and nobody even knows im on anything. It is crazy to me how I am a 25 year old female 145lbs and can take that many in a day. well i have spent all my money and savings and i am done with Norco. it has ruined my life and i had to end up quiting my job in the medical field because it was so stressful wondering if i had enough ...
I'm hooked on opiates and want to stop. I've heard that methadone can help, Is this true? How does the program work? ## Hello, Victoria! How are you? Methadone can help, but it may not be an ideal solution. Most people that use Methadone to treat addiction end up requiring a lifelong maintenance dose of it and you have to go to a clinic daily to receive your dose, though after awhile, you may earn the right to have 2 weeks of take home doses. Another option, however, would be Suboxone, which has allowed many people to become completely drug free, it also helps prevent the abuse of other opiates, while someone is being treated with it. In some cases, your first dose is supervised by the doctor or your pharmacist, but usually after that, you get a month's prescription and retu...
