I now am paying for methadone at an outpatient clinic because my insurance does not cover. However, I need methadone not for addiction reasons, but I have fibromyalgia. So a Dr. That prescribes it for pain will also work ## Hello Keekee! How are you? I'm sorry, but if you've been going to an addiction treatment clinic, regardless of why, the fact that it is an addiction clinic will be in your records and a private practice doctor won't be able to prescribe it for you. Thus, staying with a clinic will be your only option. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone h...
I was on suboxone 45 days, to help, with withdrawal if methadone. I had completely tapered myself off of methadone but, the withdrawal s was just to much to function... So I had almost an entire script of suboxone 8 milligram strips left. I taper down to .25 milligrams. My doctor told me it would be ok to start naltrexone 3 days after I stopped the suboxone. He said to take 1/4 of a 50 milligram pill. WOW that was cray it sent me straight into precipitated withdrawal... Now I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP. ## Have you informed your doctor of what happened? Usually, they do have you wait 72 hours, which means a full 3 days, taking nothing until the 4th day. What types of symptoms are you having? The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including naus...
I took 2 mg of Subutex on Saturday afternoon and was drug tested on Thursday afternoon ( 6 days ). How likely will it be detected in urine? ## It's a bit difficult to say, because that time frame is actually right on the cusp, since the Buprenoprhine is usually detectable for approximately 5 days in urine. The precise time frame will vary from person to person, depending on your metabolism, overall health, activity levels, fluid intake and etc. Learn more Subutex details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## hello. i used about 7 subutex in a 7 day period. last day was saturday morning. i go to the suboxone doctor friday and know i will get a urine test. i have been taking my suboxone everyday since sat. evening and will continue to do so.my question is will the subutex s...
If you type subutex into the search spot at the top of this page, you will find more info about it. I work in a small CD unit and we're about to start using suboxone for heroin addiction treatment. Subutex (buprenorphine) is Suboxone w/o naloxone, which was added to buprenorphine to make it useless if dissolved and injected for recreation, thus diminishing its street value. Anyway, don't know much more about it than that, though I do see that Suboxone has been used as an antidepressant in clinical trials at Harvard. The citation is Bodkin, JA et al. (1995): Buprenorphine treatment of refractory depression, Journal of Clinical Pharmocology. 15:49-57. ## I take opiates and need to know about the availability of subutex to stop my drug use. Please help me.
I am a severe and chronic pain patient on my way towards a fibromyalgia diagnosis. I just moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan and have priority health/medicaid. Do any of you know a good Doctor whos not shy about prescribing opiates??? I'm tired of being labeled a drug seeker when the drugs i seek ACTUALLY WORK. I don't feel high off them, I'm not a junkie, I just NEED to manage my pain levels because they get debilitating. I've great results historically with low level dose methadone (5mg 3x's daily) with norco (10/325mg, 4 x's daily for breakthrough). In otherwords I'm not looking to be a strung out zombie, I just want enough to take the edge off so i can function. Are there any sympathetic Doctors in Grand Rapids Michigan that won't treat me like a drug se...
What is the correct way to take suboxone pill, white pill, 155 on one side, crescent moon on other? Do you put it under your tongue? Do you wait an hour after smoking, eating or drinking? ## Hello, Based on my research, you should drink a glass of water before taking this medicine to moisten your mouth. Place the sublingual tablet or sublingual film under the tongue and allow it to dissolve. You should not chew the tablet or film, and do not swallow it whole. Be sure to never crush a tablet or dissolve a film to mix into a liquid for injecting the drug into your vein. From what I've read, this practice has resulted in death with the misuse of buprenorphine and similar prescription drugs. Do not take this medication with alcohol. Check your food and medicine labels to be sure these p...
what kinda pill is this? i was giving this and they said it was two tablets of 2mg suboxone. equals 4 mg ## Did you find out if this was suboxone? ## could you please tell me what the oxagan shaped white pill with a M on one side and a 2.5 on the other side is. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A GENERIC SUBOXONE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN? ## It is a 2mg soboxone pill. I take these for opioid addiction. It's a synthetic pill. I find it has less side effects than methadone. ## My buddy gave me a suboxone it was a small white pill with a m on one side but I couldn't make out what was on the other I tasted it and it had a sugar taste. Did he lie to me ## No he didn't. The reason they taste like that is because they are sublingual, meaning you have to leave them under your tongue and let them dissolve...
Small white round pill with the numbers 54 755 on the same side. ## I was using perk 10s for over a year and having a hard time coming off this opiate being told if wanting to be free of this addiction and using subutex the right way will be very helpful in my recovery ## Yes, this tablet is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories, and they list it as containing 2mgs of Buprenorphine, which is most commonly used to help treat drug addiction, and to treat some forms of chronic pain. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. The inactive ingredients may include: citric acid anhydrous, corn starch, crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, mannitol, povidone, sodium citrate, though they may vary depending...
My doctor has recently prescribe 90 suboxone films a month, My insurance will only pay for 60 of them and the pharmacy said unless I have my doctor to write a new script to reduce my films to what the insurance will pay I will have to pay Cash for all of them, Why can't the pharmacist bill insurance for the 60 that they will pay and let me pay cash for the other 30? Has anyone eles had a problem like this? ## Hi Suger1960, Sorry to hear about your predicament. What pharmacy do you go to? It sounds like insurance and the pharmacy are both giving you a hard time, probably to save more money on their end. They'll often choose what payment scenarios work best for them as a profit-driven business. Nevertheless, it would still be a good idea to ask your pharmacy why they can't be ...
Is Methadone completely out of your system in 72 hours, or does it take longer? Since Methadone seems to last longer that 4 - 6 hours, I was just wondering? ## Although your system can rid itself of the methadone within about 72 hours in most cases, traces of it will still be detected in your urine for up to 3 weeks...longer if you get a blood test. ## It took me 3 months to kick methodone. After that, I had paws for another 4 months. Don't get started on that evil stuff unless you plan to stay on it for life. It's by far the worst withdrawl ever. Beware, you have been warned. Take Suboxone or subutex instead. I can't stress this enough. I wouldn't wish methodone withdrawl on my worst enemy. I went to treatment for one month to kick it. I was twice as sick after my 30 da...

Please help me!!!!!! ## you may need to post what state you are in and your city of one close by. ## Sorry to say. Subxone is not a pain drug. It is used for patients with a drug addiction to needle drug abuse. Found this out the hard way. When you do find a doc to prescribe legitimate pain meds. You will be discriminatied for ever taking this med for pain. Repeat it is not pain medicine. ## Hello Amber (and Goldie), I too suffer from chronic pain due to degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, and bone spurs on my cervical and lumbar spine. I have taken 100mg of methadone around 0600 then I took another 100 mg about an hour later. Now I have been taking .5 mg of klonopins about four times today...I don't feel imparied...I'm not nodding out....should I be concerned that I won't wake up? ## Possibly yes I've recently lost two friends that overdosed on benzodiazepines and opiates. Be careful. Moderation is key. ## I'm also on suboxone and klonopin. I take (24) of subs. And (3) of klonopin every day. As long as u take them as prescribed, u don't have 2 worry. But, don't abuse them, because, u can run into trouble. I don't know everything, but I'm a nurse and I can tell u what I do know. Any other ??? I need to know if medicaid will pay for my methadone treatment in ky? ## It won't where I live. Medicaid hasn't been expanded here but even if you could get it the insurance won't cover mmt., only detox. ## @Margie, With seemingly ever-changing laws surrounding the dispensing and coverage of controlled substances, I think your best bet would probably be to contact a methadone clinic directly for more specific details on their protocol. It may be that you'd have to contact a number of different clinics and compare feedback. I'd also encourage you to look into Kentucky's medicaid Drug Formulary (or Preferred Drug List) to for up to date information on what their medicaid covers; as coverage seems to vary from state to state. ## I live in Harrodsburg ky.. I need to ...
