I am taking 60mg of methadone a day for pain management, given to me by a rheumatologist in Pa. We are moving to NJ. Will it be hard to find a doctor in NJ that will prescribe it for me there? I have been on it for about 6 years. I also take Percocet 10/325 for breakthrough pain. ## I am not sure how hard or easy it will be to find someone, some doctors are more understanding and liberal than others. How much liquid methadone can i give to my 80 lb dog by mouth? I know that vets have given dogs methadone for pain but I just don't understand when they say you give them 0.1- 0.5 ml per kg.... I’ve really been struggling when my methadone dose went from 100 mg to 40mg. Barely does anything except I’m not violently ill. I have this "screw it all" attitude and am taking other narcotics instead. Not easy to find. My question is...what can I do to get decently priced help? The Doc put me on 5 a day 8mg pills. In all 40mg a day. It makes me really tired during the day, then at night I have Insomnia. I guess it's better then taking Opiates again. It's truely changed my life? If only I can sleep! ## My doctor started me on four a day, which happens to be way to much. After my doc saw the severity of my herniated discs, spinal stenosis, spondylothesis, deg.disc disease (severe), I was given Fentanyl (Duragesic) patches 50mg. My doc told me to start it 24 hrs after removing my Butrans patch i had on for only 3 weeks. Im eager to get this one on asap for pain relief. I am somewhat upset about a phone call that was made to my home phone about a week ago by the doctor office I go to for addiction treatment because now someone knows that I AM receiving addiction treatment services, where I receive those services and the medication I am taking for the addiction. Let it be known that I did NOT give this doctor office consent to talk to ANYONE other than myself about my treatment, EVER. Hi. Im on suboxone and xanax xr and prozac 40-60 mg day. Subone was great first two wks, now i have a ton of anxiety and major body jerks. I was on 8 mg subs so i went down to 2 and woke up today in wds. So i took a 1 mg subs and a 1 mg xanax xr. No prozac yet. Hi I have been going to a suboxone doctor for a little over a year now, and about 2 weeks ago I went in to my appt and the doc made me sign a paper stating that after September 1st I would no longer be getting prescubed subutext due to the DEA asking questions in their office.. I have been on morphine for about 7 weeks. I take about 100 to 200mg a day. I am about to switch to methadone in the morning. I am going to take 30mg tomorrow morning and 20mg the next morning. Then on the third day I plan on switching to suboxone. I only have 6mg of suboxone to take on the third day. But my question is, Is it safe to take the 6mg of suboxone 24 hrs after taking the methadone for two days,(30mg the first day and 20mg the second day)?? I'm scared to death of going into precipitated withdrawal when I switch to the suboxone, but I can't get any more methadone and all I have is the 6mg of suboxone. I've been going to the clinic now for a little over a month and my current dose is 100mg a day. I'm going up another ten tomorrow. I have had no luck with getting to a dose that works all day. I hear people always saying how great it works and how it fixes everything but thats not the story for me. I go in around 8am and from 9-4 I do ok I guess I'm somewhat happy and upbeat able to deal with life and want to be a productive member of society but mid afternoon comes around and everything seems to turn to s*** I start becoming kept to myself and just depressed. The little subutex with the arrow do not work as well as the 54-411 big round white ones they are the best. I have taken subutex for a long time now if you ever come across the orange subutex shaped like a football they are garbage. I don't know what it is but they do not work I can take one 54411 and be good for the day. If it's the orange football ones or the small white arrow ones I can take three of those and still feel like carp at the end of the day.. ## hi I took the moon ones then they moved me to 54 411 they seem so strong should I just lower it down ? I'd like to know how much stronger in milligrams the difference is between 30 mg of Methadone and 30 mg of Oxycodone? Of course, the Methadone always worked better and the Oxycodone, same dosage, is not nearly as strong. How does one figure that out? ## Each 30mgs of Oxycodone is equivalent to approximately 6mgs of Methadone, so yes, the Methadone is much stronger. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have just started Suboxone 8/2, since the Fentanyl patches (150 mg) were not making a difference in the severe pain that I was experiencing. I was told there was nothing else they (Dr.s) could do for me. They said they could not go up on the Fentanyl. I saw 9 specialists at Emory University. Eight of the docs said there was nothing left to do and I would have to live with it. Only 1 doctor, a surgeon, said he could take out a portion of my brain so that I could not feel pain anymore. I opted for the Suboxone trial. It worked better for me than the Fentanyl patches. I divide my doses so that I can take the med every 4 hours around the clock. My son has a very severe drug addiction to pain med. He has turned to one of the strongest on the street and is now using needles. He has really hit bottom and wants to quit. Someone told him about Suboxone and said that it would help him to break his addiction. Is it a safe drug to use to quit, or does it only replace one addiction for another? I've been trying to find a doctor that writes subutex for pain management and dont have to be preg or have hep to get the help you need. I was attacked by a police dog and was severaly injured. Had to have surgery and had massive muscle loss and hard to sometimes without my meds to even work. So if anyone knows any doctors in tri cities please let me know.
