i was on oxy for 6 years went to the dr yesterday and tested positive for methadone which ive never taken b4 so good ole doc changes me to methadone what are the pros and cons of methadone and how did i test positive for methadone ## If your doctor is using the less expensive, non-certified tests, they are known to show false positives anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time. In such cases, synthetic and semi-synthetic opiates, such as these, are well known to cause false positives for others. Hey everybody. This is my first time here, so please excuse me for just butting in. I just started methadone on Tuesday. Trying to get my life back. Anyway, just wondering what to expect. Some moments I feel great, then a little while later I feel as if a car dropped on me. I started at 30 mgs the first day..they up it by ten each day, so I'm at 50 today where I will stay for at least a week. So is there anything I can do to help me thru the shaky bits? I'M A PATIENT WITH FIBROMAILGA, MERSA, REAUMATOID ARTHRITIST, RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME, ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION I TAKE THE FOLLOWING MEDICATION FOR PAIN PERCOSET 10/325, MORPHINE 15MG. lost daughter n law due to her having 143 m/l of methadone, 80.8 vicadene, 11.4 hydromorphone morphin, she also had anoxic-Encephalopathy, the autopsy report stated death due 2 a massive over-dose of methadone. I finally hit the ceiling and have no use, no cravings, nothing, just do not want to be a prisoner no longer to suboxone. I'm tapering down from 8 my a day. I plan on doing a 4-5 month taper, 2 my every 2 weeks, till i hit one, then. 50, then skipping days. Besides excercise, a healty diet, plus vitamin b, I'm looking into the natural supplement SAM-e or HTP 5. I do not want antidepressants, but need something to boost the serotonin levels & dopehine. I have been on Suboxone for a couple of months now and it seriously has been a lifesaver. The issue is I split my prescription with my boyfriend because he doesn't have insurance and wants to get clean too. With some recent stress and lack of self control, we took more than we should have and fell short at the end of the month, thus causing us to relapse. I have been taking Morphine and Hydrocodones for the last week. The doctor that I go to drug tests me at each visit. I am afraid that if I test positive, he will discharge me. I have a quarter of a Suboxone tab. If I take this, will it mask the other drugs? Please help! ## if the others are out of your system a half of sub will make you test positive for it.

i took my last 10mg methadone on thursday and have a urine screen on wednesday so that is 6 days. I only took the pills for about a week and I probably took 15 all together is there anythink i can drink to help this to be out of my system completely by wednesday? ## Like most other narcotics, Methadone is usually detectable for approximately 4 to 5 days, after last dosing. There is no way to give a precise time frame, however, because individuating factors are always going to play a role, such as your metabolism, your overall health, activity levels and fluid intake. Is there anything else I can help with?

Will Methadone show up on a drug screening if your already on opiate pain meds? ## If you have tried methadone as a pain management but it did't really help you how long does it stay in your system as for a job screening test. I have the script but people don't understand that alot of drs. are now prescribing this . ## Yes they can differentiate between methadone and other opiates if they look for it ## Yeah I think that the test has to specifically look for it. Not sure what the standard test includes or excludes. from what i understand S 90 3 = scored 3x's @ 90 degrees. and the middle peace is slightly larger due to it containing 1mg and the outside 2 having .5mg. I dont know tho, this is all info I heard at the methadone clinic, anyway i like the dava (green) they hold me longer ## If you look at the images, It appears to be sectioned proportionately, so it seems you'd get the same dose from any of the 3 sections. Are there any questions or comments?

I am prescribed 40 mg. daily Methadone for the pain associated with having Type II Trigeminal Neuralgia. For two months, it worked well, but now, only my breakthrough medication, Roxicodone (Oxycodone with non APAP) 15 mg. 4 x per day, is the only thing which stops the pain. I was advised by a friend that if I take my entire dose of Methadone in the morning, I could just use my Roxicodone at night, that this may work better, and I would have less breakthrough pain. I have been doing this, but I am afraid that I am just upping my tolerance to Methadone by giving my body 40 mg. all at once. Plus, I'd like to change my Methadone to OxyContin, to see if it works better. i am on methadone clinic and just got told i had a dirty for restoril i dont know what it is i know i didnt take it and ive been clean for 6 yrs now im tryin to figure out how this happened so i dont get detoxed i am scared too death ## At he clinic I go to in Canada you can ask for a blood test if they say you tested dirty and you know you never took anything else. I just started taking suboxone to get off roxycodone, of which I was taking up to 10, 30mg pills a day, all day long. I am also on Adderral and Xanax. I felt really good for the first couple of weeks, but now I feel really anxious, and find myself constantly needing my xanax. However, since I'm only prescribed 3x 1mgs a day I am going to run out too soon. I am prescribed 2x8mg Suboxone a day. I was wondering is there a certain time schedule I should take it, b/c when I take a half of one before I leave work at 5, I can barely eat, don't want to talk to anyone, and severely anxious and nervous. How long does Suboxone stay in your system after your last dose? ## Sub has a half life of 36 hours. So if you are taking 4mgs per day and stop taking it, one half or 2mgs will still be present in your system 36 hours later. Then 1mg 36 hours after that, and 1/2mg 36 hours after that, and so forth and son on. ## Most narcotics can be detected in a urine test for 48 to 72 hours, after you last take it, but this can vary, depending on how long you have been taking it and how high of an amount. It will clear out faster for people who haven't been taking it regularly at high doses, than it will for those who have been using large amounts on a regular basis.
