Looking for a dr. In Los Angeles that will perscribe methadone. I moved here a year and a half ago from salt lake city. I've suffered a sever head injury and had to have brain surgery. As a result I have cronic headaches. I also have 4 collapsed disks in my back from riding motorcross for years. I became addicted to pain pills and ended up going to a opiate treatment center is SLC ut and they put me on methadone to manage my pain and get me off pain pills. I was on 300 mg a day at one point. Qudict contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone, it is most commonly used to treat opiate addiction. Have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist if there are any other alternatives available? what pharmacy will fill methadone in Tampa Area????????? ## Hi kim, You're definitely not alone, as it seems like everyone in the entire state of Florida is having complications trying to fill their pain management scripts, no matter the dosage. The best thing I can recommend trying at this point in time, is checking with sites such as PharmacyChecker, as they only list certified (reputable) online pharmacies. Although I am pretty sure that those pharmacies would require a prescription because PharmacyChecker puts them through a rigorous certification process. You may have to wait for shipping, but I'd say it's better late than never. If you choose to go this route, I'd be interested in knowing how it works out for you in the end. I hope this helps!

I just got a all from my doctor saying I tested positive for opiates, I am prescribed subutext and haven't taken a opiate. I don't know how this happened, I am freaking out. ## What type of test was it? Subutex does contain Buprenorphine, which is an opiate and it is well know that if the test being used is one of the less expensive, non-certified ones, one opiate can cause false positives for others, so it also wouldn't be much of a surprise for it to just be detected as general opiates, either. I've been recieving care at this methadone clinic for a year and couldn't be happier with my life. I now know What its like to live a normal life without alcohol. Drugs,and pills. well that is just simply not true. Most places will not test for subs because it has to be sent away for a special test because it is only a partial antagonist and does not show up on a regular opiate testing ## Such a test wouldn't actually look for Suboxone, since it is a compound medication that contains both Buprenorphine and Naloxone, so technically your doctor is correct. To detect whether or not someone is taking it, a special test has to be used that checks for the presence of Buprenorphine and it's metabolites. Learn more Suboxone details here. My Suboxone doctor checks my levels and now wants to do a cheek swab test. How long can Suboxone be detected by swab and how long in urine? Is the cheek swab much more accurate? And if so, if I'm supposed to take 3 a day and I take 2, can he be able to tell that? ## The Buprenorphine in Suboxone is usually detectable in urine for approximately 7 days and in saliva for approximately 3. i am perscribed 2 10mg methadone 4 x a day and i was sorting my meds for the weak and i took the wrong pile of pills and that was 6 10mg of methodone instead of my mixture of pills perscribed to me wich are 20mg methadon 8mg hydromorphine tinazadine and gabapentin should i worry about this ## Are you okay? Did anything happen? There is a chance that it could be too high of a dose and cause an overdose, but that would really be worse case scenario. God Bless ## Suboxone contains Buprenoprhine and Naloxone, the latter is used to help prevent the abuse of other narcotics while someone is being treated with it, but the Buprenoprhine is a very potent narcotic opiate, so that may be a high dose for someone that isn't opiate tolerant. Thus, they'd need to know to watch for any danger signs, such as shallow breathing, severe sedation and drowsiness, extreme dizziness and vomiting and if they experience them, they should seek medical attention immediately. I am currently on Suboxon and have been for over a year now. It is getting too expensive for me. My doctor told me she could put me on Subutex. Other than the opiate blocker, what is the difference? How different will it make me feel? Will I go through any withdrawls from Suboxone? Does Subutex still give you that "feel good feeling"? ## There really shouldn't be any other difference, as long as she gives you an equivalent dosage, because the main active ingredient is still the same, Buprenorphine. If taken correctly when i first start taking suboxone (first pill) will i feel withdraw symptoms or a buzz,or just normal? ## When you first start it, if your doctor has calibrated the correct dosage, you should not feel any differently.
