I've always been very very slim, almost underweight. When I was 21 I got hooked on oxycoton & gained a ton of weight quickly. I've been on methadone for 5 yrs now & have gained even more weight. Will switching to suboxone help me lose it. ## Hi Jenna, I was on methadone 4 almost 5 years and gained 50 lbs. a lot of people have gained weight while on it. ( seen it myself) I lost all the weight once I got off the methadone. I'm now on suboxone, and, no weight gain with it. I'm a petite person 2, and, I' am at my weight, where I was b 4 I got on methadone. Weight gain is 1 of the side effects, but, they don't tell u that. ## Hello, Jenna! How are you? I just want to clarify why weight gain happens on opiates, it is because they are essentially a downer that s...

I started Butrans 10 on 4/30. Had amazing relief. I felt better than I had in years. I caught a cold around April 20th. Went straight to my chest. My Dr thought I had walking pneumonia and started me on a course of steroids and antibiotics. 10 days later, no improvement, chest xray clear but wheezing and heavy with breathing. Dr. gave another round of steroids and antibiotics. This past weekend, I started to feel like a brand new cold came on me. Severe head congestion, terrible cough, the works. I went to urgent care. That Dr. told me it was allergy related. He gave a decadron shot, Z pak, started me on Zyrtec, albuterol inhaler. Today is the first day I have started to feel a little better. My question is this, could this possibly be from the patch? I seems a little coincidental that ...

So forgot to mention, what's ur advice on this, I'm having a hard time quitting H, and my sub Dr told me she wants me to go 24 hours without use, then wake up in the a.m and take 2 8mg/2mg strips of the suboxone. Do u think that would send me into PW? or would I be flying? She said she just wants to cover my brain with the sub. ## I think it you genuinely want to quit and have the Suboxone work, then you should most likely follow your doctor's instructions. They are trying to help you and ensure the best possible outcome for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The wait is normal, you have to be in withdrawals, before you can take the Subox...

Hello.. I recently started going to the Methadone clinic to help me with my addiction to H and painkillers. I am currently on 60 mg. They have been moving me up very slowly because I have liver issues. I am still experiencing bad WD symptoms in the evening and it's driving me nuts! I also have several autoimmune diseases. I don't know if it could be because of the diseases or maybe 60 mg, it isn't high enough to keep me good 24/7 yet. Any ideas or advice? My boyfriend is angry with me because I'm still sick 10-12 hours after I get my dose. He's not the only one frustrated though. I'm living through it still, and I thought the clinic would be the answer :-( ## Hello, Nikki! How are you? It seems the clinic is trying to help, but they must be cautious due to your l...

My job is closing and I have been on 2 & 1/2 8mg suboxone for almost 3yrs, used to be on 3 a day. Now I am also a disabled vet but the va won't give them to me. With that being said I have insurance until march and want to stock pile as many as I can. I am pretty close with my dr and am gonna ask him to at least put me back up to 3 a day so I can save some until I can figure out my insurance problems. Was wondering how many 8mg suboxone can a dr legally percribe you daily so I know what is the most I can ask him for. I am not even saying he will help me and give me mor but I got to ask cause I withdrawal is very long and horrible. I went into the va psych ward for a couple weeks and they would not give them to me and it was horrible so I am trying to prepare for the future until...

My Suboxone Strips are straight from the pharmacy so they have never been opened but they are "alot smaller" now and Iam mad but I dont know how to ask Suboxone manufactorers..my pharmacy would think Im crazy probly so hhmmm? ## The size doesn't necessarily mean anything in regards to the amount of medication that they contain. There are likely just different fillers or a different manufacturing method being used. Do they still work the same for you? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Havn,t noticed any difference in size yet. I would like for them to be smaller. Maybe they would desolve faster. The one problem I see with smaller ones is th...

need a doctor who prescribes methadone and takes medicaid on the west side of columbus. its for my daughter and her boyfriend. ## Hello, Jeff! How are you? A regular doctor is not allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment. The only option for that is a Methadone clinic. That is the way the law currently stands. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you have a clinic nearby?

I'm helping my son find a chronic pain doctor, he had a crush injury to his lower leg & has drop foot from the fasciotomy. He has terrible itching, burning and neuropathy pain. It would be so much easier for him to go to a Methadone Clinic where few question's are asked than be seen at a Pain Clinic where we are treated like scum of the earth. Only pride keeps him from doing this. I don't get it. ## Hello, Rhett! How is your son doing? Does he currently have a PCP that he sees regularly? If so, having them refer him to someone would likely be the easiest way for him to get the help he needs. Does anyone know of a good doctor in AR? Has he tried any of the medications for neuropathic pain? His regular doctor can prescribe those. ## It is best that he doesn't go to a M...

I live in Alabama and the tri county methadone clinic is where I go. I have medicade and it pays for my dose and gas to get to the clinic and im so appreciative because I live almost thirty miles away and if I didnt have medicade I would not be able to afford the gas to go sixty miles a day ## That is awesome! There are many people posting who can't afford it, or have trouble getting to their clinic. It's great of you to share your experience with others. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How long should I wait to take suboxene I took 8 mg diluadid at 4am ## Hello, Ivy! How are you? You need to be in full withdrawal from your drug of choice, before you take Suboxone, otherwise the Naloxone in it may throw you into precipitated withdrawals. After that, you should follow your doctor's dosing instructions. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi Ivy! I was on methadone and switched 2 suboxone. I had 2 wait until I was withdrawing b 4 I could take the suboxone. If u don't wait, as Dr. Verwon said," u will have worse withdrawals." So, make sure u r withdrawing, first. Everyone is different , but by...

I take 70 mg of Methadone daily for the past week and that've been tapering down from 100 mg. i go to the clinic daily by 8 am. Today at 6pm I took 5mg of Valium. Now after reading other peoples messages I'm worried! Was this a dumb idea or what?? Ideas and opinions are wanted.... ## Hi DomDarko! I never had a problem taking methadone with a benzo. I was on 110 of methadone 4 almost 5 years, and also took Klonopin the whole time with it. I'm now on suboxone and still take the Klonopin. Sometimes, my doctor would even prescribe Valium 4 break through anxiety and panick attacks. Hope this puts your mind at ease. Just take it as prescribed. ## @DomDarko, Some people may not have any problem using the two together, but based on my research, there are minor to moderate drug inter...

Hi I need to order sum subutex/suboxone online so does anyone have any reputable links pls?? ## Hi Jadey20, There are a number of legitimate online pharmacies that may be able to fill your prescription. I personally haven't used this method for getting a prescription, but I know there are a handful of sites out there that are safe and legal to order from amongst the swarm of bad ones. To find out if an online pharmacy is licensed, is in good standing, and is located in the United States, contact NABP at: nabp.net/contact/ Legitimate online pharmacies that carry the VIPPS seal are listed at: nabp.net/programs/accreditation/vipps/find-a-vipps-online-pharmacy/ For a list of boards of pharmacy, visit: nabp.net/boards-of-pharmacy/ FDA: Buying Medicines and Medical Products Online Quick T...

I am currently buying my subutex from black market sources.the price is cheap enough but i would rather not have to deal with these people as its part of my old life. iv seen sites selling subutex but are they genuine? Im down to my last month supply ## Hi Adam, If your intent is to order medications that require a prescription, then there is no guaranteed safe and legal way to do so outside of the standard "doctor-visit" procedures. There are many more hazards involved when you order online from a non-legitimate site, such as not receiving what you ordered and just being scammed out of your money, or getting something that isn't even the medication you ordered; and you end up accidentally taking it. Not to long ago there were quite a few posts on this site from a number of ...
