Hey everyone after recently being released from prison, so many great things are happening in my life however my painful desire to use opiates is still strong and almost led me to ER yesterday. That was my routine before but I fought it,prayed,and let my wife &sister know. So by Gods grace we found a great psychiatrist who got me immediately. I was put on 8mg Subutex 2x a day. I'm nervous to start it. I'm in no withdraw but I'm using it as a preventive. Can you please tell me what to expect with this med? I've been on the methadone program for abit longer then a yr and I want to get off now, I can say for sure that I'm hooked on it.. Is it possible I can quit dry turkey? Without moving down milligram at a time or could I hurt myself by doing such a thing? ## Hi Jessika! I would suggest tapering down SLOWLY or you could go through some bad withdrawals. I was on methadone and tapered down slowly and still went through withdrawals. I ended up going on Suboxone. ## You should definitely NOT QUIT COLD TURKEY, especially since you've been on Methadone for over one year! Most people take the dose down by10mg until they reach 100 mg and then 5 mg per day. I went from 160 mg all the way down to 5 mg. Believe it or not, the 5mg worked and I didn't have bad withdrawals. i have been in the same pain management office for about 10 years. i had experimental back surgury in 2005. i had a titanium disc replacement in my lumber spine at l5-s1. since then the pain has gotten a lot worse. my pain management doctor tried me on a few different pain meds, but i decided percocet 5 3 times a day was sufficient. over time, my body built up a tolerance and i continued to get procedures there to help with the pain, but i kept telling my doctor i was still in excruciating pain. unfortunately, i couldn't handle the pain anymore and my boyfriend at the time started doing dope and convinced meta try it too. thank god it was only for a few months,that was over a year ago. i went back into my pain management center to get help and they put me on suboxone. i hate myself ...

on a skin sweat patch test if used 4 days earlier and 3 days, 10 mgs per day, also am using daily subutex, xanax and soma, I know xanax will show but will the old methadone and the twice daily subutex, i have patch on ## These sweat patch tests only work for the detection of the substances that are actively being taken, while the patch is being worn. They can be used to detect Methadone, that is what they were originally designed to test for, but only if it has been taken while wearing the patch. The Buprenorphine in the Subutex can be detected, but it is not included in standard testing, so they would have to be specifically testing for it. Hi all, I am asking this for a friend. He took 15 mg of methadone, the kind in juice on thursday evening at 9:00 pm and he got called in for a urine test monday at 10:30 am (98.5 hours). He takes 200 mg of morphine daily (he has a legit prescription for morphine not methadone) and that is the first time he ever drank methadone. He said the only effect it had was slept ok thursday night and friday morning he was dope sick until he got his morphine refilled friday morning. He is 145 pounds so very skinny. The test is lab gc/ms and they use a 100 ng/ml (methadone metabolite eddp) screening cut off for methadone. How are you? Did you mean 20mgs of Methadone? It does not come in grams. There is no hard and fast rule for pain management, it is up to your doctor and what they think would work best for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If you're not happy about taking Methadone, then you are free to inform your doctor that you'd like to try something else. What if you have taken a suboxone 8mg before you went in full withdrawal and the sub kicked you into withdrawals? I was just starting to feel like I really needed my next dose of Norco or Percocet (taking about 150mg-210mg at a time or each dose of oxy or norco. 2 1/2 doses a day) and instead I took a sub that a friend gave me because I'm am out of the normal medication. I am starting a rehab in the next week or two so I'm also trying to taper off slightly before I go into the rehab. What can I do to stop the sub from giving me these terrible withdrawal symptoms: freezing to full on sweat, diarrhea, can't sleep etc. should I take another sub?

Any way to get off subs after at least 15 years of being a slave to them? Don't get me wrong, being strung out on opiates or anything like that is much worse, but I'm pretty sick of relying on a f***ing pill to keep me well. I'd like to have another baby someday. Both of these medications usually require a very slow taper to successfully come off of them and prevent the worst of the withdrawal symptoms. The FDA lists some typical withdrawal symptoms as possibly including nausea, dizziness, rebound pain, rebound anxiety and diarrhea. I was taking suboxone for about a year 1 tablet a day. My last dose was Wednesday May 7th and I have a drug test on Wednesday May 14th, will I pass a urine test or will it still show up in my urine ## Hi Curious, Everybody seems to disagree about how long it can be detected in your system. My sub dr. told me that a lot of jobs don,t test for subs. One reason he said was it,s kind of expensive and they would have to test seperately. You said you,ve been on subs for a year. If I am away for a weekend and need to see a dr, AND he writes me a prescription, does the pharmacist see all of my infomation come up on the computer? ## No, not if they aren't in the same pharmacy chain or affiliated with the same pharmacy you use regularly. However, the government does have all of this information. So, for instance if you are getting prescriptions for controlled substances and are doctor shopping elsewhere to get more of them, then it will be discovered by the federal authorities. If they detect such suspicious behavior, then it will be reported to all pharmacies that you have used, as well as any in your immediate area. IF I have a suboxone script in florida but I must travel to new jersey. will they fill it in New jersey? Or should I go to my doctor 3 days early. legally I can fill it the morning I leave out of state. Or will the doctor tell me to fill it in NJ. Can i get it filled there? Is it a big deal getting it written 3 days early and filling it the next morning before I leave?

I was in original trials for suboxone. Had been taking about 10-12 hydros/day, was put 1st on 12mg subox, then same on subutex for 11 yrs - no relapse. Now tho, trying to get off those. Had 20 8mg tabs Dec 1, but can't seem to get under 2 mg/day w/o RLS - along w/ insomnia, my worst fears (tried cold turkey once. And I'd even gotten off hydros in about 3 days cold, but I'm a lot older now). I now have only 9 left.If return to treatment (day rx), will give 2mg daily, but charge $15/day $450/mo. Can I make it tapering w/o withdrawal? I hate the MD who assured me that I shd take as if they were diabetes meds - forever! Can anyone offer help, info?

Looking for a physician that prescribes methadone for pain. I'm not an addict but have been on norco for over 15 years and that didn't work anymore. I just want a normal life. I've had total knee replacement and a neck fusion and in constant pain. I have tried methadone once and that was the first time in years i wasn't in pain. Hi all. I was prescribed opiates for 2 years. Taking 5-7 30mg pill a day. I would take about 15mg every 2 hours and sometimes I would take a 30mg. I went to see a doctor about 4 months back and she prescribed me Zubsolv. Two 5.7 a day. I was on it for 2 weeks and got extremely depressed and switched back to the blue opiates. 4 months later, im trying to stop this horrible addiction and started taking my left over Zubsolvs. This is my 3rd day. Ive been taking 1/2 in the AM and another 1/2 in the PM and feel fine with some minor depression but OK. My questions is how long should I take this for? I don't want to get hooked on these and I know Zubsolv withdrawals are much worse the opiate withdrawals. My doctor wanted me on them for a few months and I said no and stopped going. My plan ...

Tricare does not cover Suboxone doctors or prescription. They will however cover your prescription for Subutex or generic buprenorphine. I pay $10 no matter how many pills are prescribed for generic buprenorphine or Subutex. My doctor personally bills my lab work which is $120 a month two Tricare but I am paying out-of-pocket for the doctor's visit. VA will not do anything where I am. I'm on 35mg of methadone at a clinic, I was on 175mg and got down to 10mg and it was terrible!! I went very slow, but I went back up. Does anyone have any advice on how to get off this crap??
