I am a 56 year old woman that was giving omeprozole for acid reflux and gerd. It really did help. I thought it was the best thing ever until here 1 1/2 years later, the Dr was sending me to a heart specialist because my heart rate has climbed so high as well as my blood pressure. I've also had incontinence this year that has made my life miserable. Little did I know until reading more about the omeprazole that all of these problems had come from taking it. I stopped the omeprazole and with in days my heart rate begin to come down, from 123 beats per minute to 87 bpm. My blood pressure also dropped into a normal range, and the best thing is no more incontinence. I didn't realize this medication was causing all of this mess. Hi. I'm 26 years old and for 7 months have been seeing my doctor for a stomach ulcer. I took Nexium pills to treat it for a few months which worked well for the most part. I hadn't had symptoms for 2 months about until I began experiencing pains and burning once again, this time a little worse. Last week, I visited my doctor an he prescribed me omeprozale to try out. What to do when a 60 year old male takes an APO 020 (20mg) not prescribed to him? He has been taking 2-3 pills at least once a day for 3-4 days. His symptoms are dry cough, fever, earaches, fatigue, vomiting, black stuff and leg cramps. ## Call poison control or his doctor ASAP. APO 020 Omeprazole is not one of those common "recreational" drugs so he should not get in trouble for it, and they can tell you the appropriate course of treatment. As far as treating GERD (I assume that's what he is taking it for??), he may also wish to consider Apple Cider Vinegar supplementation in the future as long as his doctor says it's okay. Help, I've been feeling faint, nauseous and dizzy for 2 years now. I can't exercise without feeling like I will black out and I must take several glucose tablets per day or I'm on the floor with flu-like symptoms. Re. person with hair loss - I have been on propranalol and omeprazole for a few weeks now and prior to these drugs have suffered hair loss for a few years so can't blame the new drugs. Have taken levothyroxine and atvorstatin for years and wonder if one or both these could be the culprit. I suppose no drugs are without side effects. ## That is correct, all drugs carry the risk of causing side effects, it's just the nature of what happens, when we add a chemical to the body to try to correct a problem. Of the ones you've list, both the Propranolol and the Levothyroxine can cause hair loss, as reported by the U.S. FDA.
