New Generic 30 Mg Adderall Xr (all Orange W/ R 3061 On Them) Not As Effective (Page 4)

please share your experience with this never seen before, less effective drug that two different pharmacy's have given to me in last two months. they make me fall asleep!

Hate it or not the only brand generic my insurance will cover is the Actavis version of Adderall xr. So we're going to try that. But can anyone tell me where they can get it? So far all my local pharmacies have barr or none at all and cant' get anything in.

big pharma is either trying to poison or dumb down people who can't afford brand name, or save an enormous amt of $ by making fake stuff...they can target the poor easiest. Actavis blue pill/3060 20mg ER, it's not close to Adderall XR at all. Suffering a migraine with auras 2 hours after taking. Visual disturbances, check with your pharmacy to see what generic brand they have before you fill it, call around, someone mentioned malenkroft generic instead. Maybe ask doc to switch to a IR that may be better if your in a bind, sad to think kids who need the meds are getting deceived, if your kids don't feel better listen to them, then switch.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE! THIS NEW ORANGE/ORANGE GENERIC IS NO WHERE AS EFFECTIVE AS THE PREVIOUS GENERIC WHICH WAS ORANGE/CLEAR. I TAKE 2 - 30 MG PER DAY AND COULD TELL THE DIFFERENCE IMMMEDIATELY . . . MY FOCUS AND PRODUCTIVITY TANKED! FUZZY AND DISORGANIZED BRAIN IS BACK IN FULL FORCE. . THE NEW GENERIC IS HORRIBLE. I HAD TO PAY OVER $200 FOR THAT CRAP. I'M GOING TO THE PHARMACY TOMORROW TO "START A DIALOGUE". The new Generic Adderall XR R3601 manufactured by Actavis is NOT the same formulation as was used by Shire/Teva. Either my pharmacy gives me that brand or I will find one that does. Honestly I don't care how much it costs. On the Shire/Teva XR I performed/focused better at work and home than I had EVER done in my life. I thought "WOW this must feel like most people who don't have ADD feel!" I am brilliant but had underachieved my whole life due to my ADD which was not diagnosed until three years ago and I'm 53 YEARS OLD. I always wondered why people who I knew were no where as intelligent as me succeeded in life while I haven't . . . and yet I have 3 degrees - a BA, a BS, a MBA, make less money than most new college grads, have a horribly spotty job history since 2008, no retirement savings, no car, no relationship, and everything has been a struggle for many years.
NO I will not allow this medication change.

I was just recently given this new activus 30mg xr. Inside is all white beads. I have been taking the other generic version for 4 years and hasimilar worked great. I still had some of my old meds left from my last prescription so I wasn't keeping track of which days I used which pill. But I all of the sudden experienced extreme fatigue and lack of motivation to just get off the couch. I didn't realize until taking the new pill today that I was again drowsy. I decided to take a pinch more to see if I just needed an increase, bad decision, got even more tired. I still had my old prescription and had to be able to function at work so I took just a tad of the one that I knew worked. I started feeling a little bit more alert but ended up in a full blown panic attack (I have never had any kind of panic or anxiety in my life). I made it to work but could not fuction. Then I started feeling tight, short of breath, rapid heatbeat. Once I called myself down, I noticed serious pain in my lower left stomach area. I was sent home from work but could not get ahold of a pharmacist or my doctor. This is not ok. I am still a bit short of breath but need to find out what is going on.

I've had the same problem with generic versions of medications (xanax especially). My advice is to calmly speak to first to your pharmacist & explain what is going on. If they refuse to order the generic form of medication that works for you then have your doctor write on the RX where it says "BRAND NESS.." put the name of the generic manufacturer. I use Rite Aid & had no problem fixing this problem at the pharmacy level. Granted I realize some pharmacists treat us like we are drug addicts & don't listen. Look up your pill imprint on the internet to find out what fillers are in the particular generic you have. Hope this helps.

So if you try the generic, and it doesn't work, the insurance company probably has a policy like try the cheaper one first, then you can step to the next one, like the brand. Just tell your doc, it's not effective, like I.e. It doesn't last, or it gives you nausea or dizziness, or whatever. Don't take something you feel is ineffective or bad quality, cause it probably is. They have to listen to the patient, but you should have a medical reason for getting the better one, it's about money to the insurance company, but your doc should really listen to you, if they don't, get another one...if you have government/military medicine, than your probably outa luck (unless you pay)

If you have a Walgreens near you I get 10mg XR and they work pretty well the generic is made by the same company that makes the name brand. I would think all Walgreen's use the same company but I am not sure, I am in Rochester NY

So I was prescribed adderall xr about two months ago for my ADHD. I had taken one of my sister in laws after the diagnosis, while I was waiting for my insurance to approve the prescription. it took about a week. My sister in laws script bottle was labeled 30mg amphetamine salts XR. They were orange capsules with white medication beads in them. My script was for 20mg so I just took part of her dose. It worked well, so when I got my prescription filled I was optimistic. Unfortunately I didn't get the same generic she did. I got an orange pill and the script was labeled dextroamp/amphet salts XR. The beads weren't white, they were tan in color. When I took this medicine, it was effective for about 3 hours and then I would crash and become completely exhausted. Occasionally I was nauseous and I also became very irritable as it wore off. I was so confused because when I had taken the other prescription it had lasted all day and I didn't get the aweful crash at the end. I did some research and concluded that my sister in laws prescription was manufactured by one company while I had received something different. I stuck out that first month and found that my local CVS carried the generic adderall that my sister in law had. When I filled it I received blue pills of 20mg Amphetamine Salts XR and the beads of medicine were white. This was much better. I didn't get as jittery and the action of the medication seemed much smoother. No nausea and no crash. No irritability and the effect lasted at least 8 hours. I can't believe there can be so much difference in the effects of a medication that is supposed to be the same across the board.
Through scouring the Internet, I believe that my first generic was manufactured by either Barr Labs, American Health Packaging or Global Pharmaceuticals. They all have a pill similar in appearance. Orange with Amphetamine salts and the dose written in black. My second prescription with the blue pill labeled R3060 is manufactured by Activis. I relaize that it was not prudent for me to try a prescription that wasn't mine so please don't focus on that. And even if I did get a little more than the 20mg dose the first time, the difference between the efficacy of the two prescriptions is very notable. Too notablw to be attributed to a few extra mg that I may or may not have gotten when I tried my sister in laws script. But I'm glad I did because how else would I have known that my medication was not working correctly. I would have assumed Adderall was not for me and moved on. This new script is working beautifully and I'm so glad that I didn't have to go through another trial and error with another prescription. I hope my story helps anyone else who may be having the same side effects with their adderall and thinking of changing. It may just be that you need a different generic.

I assume u were getting the 30 Orange tablets that are fast acting. These are time released capsules . U are probably not used to the time release that gradually goes into your system. Your body is used to the orange tablets taking effect quickly and giving you that energy bump to get going in the morning. {edited for safety}

Just call other pharmacies and ask what Pharmaceuticals companies they use until you get what u need . It's that simple. I open my Bottle in front of cashier at pharm. Counter cause if it's the crap kind u can say no i want another or my script back. U can do this

Taking the pill apart and chewing the time release capsules can be very dangerous!!! DO NOT CHEW XR! It could dispense too high a dosage and give you a heart attack, or at the very least, a panic attack. There is a reason they time release these things.

So glad it's not just me. I've been taking 30mg XR generic for about 7 years now and at 62 wish I'd been diagnosed decades ago. However, since my last renewal, about a week ago, I noticed the capsules just were not working. In fact quite the reverse .... I'm really dragging. I wondered if my doctor had reduced the dosage or the pharmacy had screwed up; but no. #3061, orange capsules. I've always had the plain orange, generic capsules - but I'd never bothered to look at the number on them. No doubt about it - something has changed, and changed significantly. If a national pharmacy decides to switch suppliers should they not be required to undertake some sort of quality control.

Does not work for me. I have been taking adderall 30 xr for over 8 years and the new generic from Actavis does not work for me. All I get is a headache and stress.

I've been taking adderall XR 30mg for years and this past month I noticed that I was extremely sleepy and not motivated at all. I just noticed that this month's bottle says TEVA pharmaceuticals whereas my past bottles said GLOBAL pharmaceuticals. I'm beyond pissed and frustrated. Does anyone have any other generic adderall XR 30 mg brands that are better than TEVA? if not I will get the non-generic adderall because I cannot take this crap anymore.

As I mentioned a few months ago, I experienced the same thing. It was not ok at all. I was freaking out. I told my doctor what happened and my next visit she wrote a note on there. I also explained to giant Eagle what happened. They kept assuring me that it was the same active ingredient and should work just the same. Well I knew that was BS. They ended up making a note of it and I have had no problems since. The brands that do work and are the same are TEVA and GLOBAL. Just stay the hell away from ACTAVIS. You can refuse it if they give you the wrong one.
