my doctor prescribed me this medication for menstrual cramps & he recommended to take it daily for 2 weeks, why should i take it for 2 weeks when my period will bother me only for 2 days? ## Probably as a preventative, the symptoms that cause menstrual cramping actually start to build up for awhile, before the bleeding actually starts. Learn more Naproxen details here. I can't speak for your doctor, this is just a theory and ultimately, how long you take it is up to you. Are there any other questions or comments?

I have some naproxen pills from a surgery a couple years back, and I have a symptom that needs an anti-inflammatory. Is it safe to take the outdated naproxen? ## There's actually a lot of conflicting information around the topic of expired medication, but according to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. But the question is whether or not the drug you ...

I get gout. Whats better for keeping it down, naproxen 500mg or indomethacin 50mg? Also how much % of antinflamatory is in the naproxen 500mg? ## Because both of these medications are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), their effectiveness is going to depend upon a comparable dosage to one-another as well as the way your body responds to each medication. Personally, I would look into natural remedies (such as essential oils) as a treatment option, simply due to the fact that there are little or no side effects in comparison to pharmaceutical drugs. As to how much % of anti-inflamatory is in the Naproxen, I don't have an answer to that. Have you tried either of those medications yet to see how well each one helps?

I keep seeing IP 190/500 as being naproxen but this is not what I am looking for.I want to know what a long white pill with IP 190 on 1 side and NOTHING AT ALL on the other side is.It`s supposed to be hydrocodone 7.5 (not sure how many mg`s of acetaminophen) but was told it has 7.5 mg`s of hydrocodone ## I can't tell you what it is because I honestly don't know but I can tell you that it is absolutely not a 7.5/500 hydrocodone (or any other 7.5 hydrocodone mix). I've had them and seen them all, having been on hydrocodone for 20 years and none looked like that. Wish I could tell you more. ## Angie, do you happen to know where it's from? I'm not finding a listing for anything with just the IP 190 on it, either, however, this doesn't necessarily mean that it is or i...

Tramadol & Naproxen is not helping my extreme pain for fibromyalgia, sciatica, pinched nerves. Wondering if I should take a stronger pain medicine. Also on lyrica. tired of suffering ...soc. security disabled for 15 years. ## Because I'm not a doctor, I can't really say what you should be taking; but my opinion is that if Tramadol + Naproxen isn't working well enough for the pain, then you may want to consider asking your doctor about the possibility of switching over to another pain medication like Vicodin or Percocet. In the link below you can view a chart of prescription and non prescription pain medications ranked from weak to strong. If they are just brief episodes, there is usually nothing to worry about, though I've also had it happen, so I do understand how terrifying they can be.
