I have been taking 5 hydrocodone 10 / 325 mg for about 8 years, my body has adjusted to this so it has not been working as well as it used to. My doctor has now prescribed me morphine ER 15 mg every 12 hours and hydrocodone 10 / 325 4 times a day. Will this be a better pain relief and do you know of any problems with taking both of these together at this dosage? My pharmacist said to make sure I take the hydrocodone at least two hours before or after I take a morphine, does anyone have any input on this thank you I appreciate any responses I can get ## If you are opiate tolerant and they have been prescribed by the same doctor, there shouldn't be any problem. But your doctor is always the best judge on that. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming ...

I am currently on 54 ml. of Ordine 10, 150 mg Fentanyl patch, and 80 mg Targin, equivalent to about 1,200 mg of morphine a day. My pain specialist wants me to change to methadone or suboxone. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance. ## Hello, Allan! How are you? Most people have said that Suboxone didn't do much for their pain, so if you need pain relief, you might be better off with the Methadone. I've never taken either one myself, I am just stating what I've learned from other posters on this site. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone else have any advice to offer? ## I really strongly suggest having nothing to do with Methadone...

How many different green liquid medications are there? My mom is prescribed liquid medicine and I need to know the name of it. It's green and highly addictive. ## My dad is on hospice. His morphine is blue. His morphine pills are blue. I hate giving it to him, but I hate him suffering more. I usually make sure he's on his oxygen really well before administering the meds. He usually screams out or he asks for it. I know he's hurting because in his lifetime he's only taken Tylox for maybe four days after surgery. The only other pain killer has been a Tylenol for headache. He hated medicine. I've had pain so severe until I've been on dilaudid and Actiq the pain lollipops. My doctor had to wean me off. That was a result of six back to back surgeries. I think I will a...

Are these Half Moon Logo 271 Yellow pills really new Actavis morphs? Just got my script n they don't seem right. Can't get any answer ## Yes, that is correct! Actavis does list these tablets as containing 30mgs of Morphine in an extended release formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was also prescribed the yellow 271 30mg and they don't seem to work as well as the purple 30mg ones I was getting. These ones I can barely feel. I don't understand why they changed it. ## Which is stronger morphine30sulfer or oxycodone half 15mg and how many hrs of relief shoul...

My Dr doesn't want to treat my chronic pain cause she says it's untreatable...? Here's what she's done in the meantime, she prescribed 10mg max 3 per day of Morphine sulfate and she thinks that's a high dose, which does nothing for me. I've had my right knee replacement done 3yrs ago and my left knee being scheduled this fall. The pain is unbelievably awful. Pain is shooting from my knee up into my thigh and lower back. I've had over twenty surgeries so far in other areas of my body including amputations. The new doctors won't help people in pain anymore. Ridiculous. ## Hello, Joey! How are you? Have you tried seeing if you can consult a different doctor? Someone else might help more. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has t...

My question concerns drug conversion. The Fentanyl works well, most of time, for my chronic pain, but my insurance now says I can only get it again in March of 2015. This is still Oct., 2014, so I will be out of patches at end of October. I don't understand this, because just stopping the patches would/will cause terrible withdrawal, because if you are only couple days late, withdrawal starts. This happened also recently as my dr. changed (at my request to try something else)100 mcg. patch to only 15 mg. of morphine ER every 12 hours, because of patches costing almost $400 for one month, which I cannot afford, due to "doughnut hole". The change made be very sick within two days, so I had to go back to patches. I didn't think the 15 mg. extended release morphine was enoug...

HI everyone. I have some serious questions to ask you all. I started using the patch a few years ago. I was also on hydro pills. I took 4 or 5 a day of the pills and a patch every 48 hours. About a year ago I just stopped taking the pills. But I started to cut small pieces of my patch and chew on them. At first it would last me the 48 hours. Now I am having to find 100mg patches from another guy because I'm chewing a patch a day. I never meant for this to happen, And 5 yrs ago I wouldn't even think of taking any pain meds, but my pain got to the point I had too. I'm now to the point that guilt is driving me crazy. I know I need something for pain, but I don't know what to do? I hear about slowly getting off, But like cutting down on smoking, it would be very very difficu...

Could someone please send an image or describe a morphine tablet of 30 mg. I found a small, purplish colored tablet with a M surrounded by a square and 30 on the other side. ## Can you get a hold of an actual copy of The Physician's Desk reference? (PDR) It has an entire section of color photos with most meds pictured... Check your local library... ## it is a morphine 30 mg ## Dude yourself a 30 mg Immediate release Oxycodone....It's a generic brand for Roxicodone. ## WRONG! The 30mgs Oxy with the M in a square is a light green color, not purple. It is manufactured by Mallinckrodt pharmaceuticals. Here's an image of that one: ## The correct ID of this pill, is as the other posters said, Morphine 30mgs, it is also made by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. This is a generic for MS...

What does SO4 mean in the prescription label and the SA at the end? ## WHAT DOES S04 AND SA MEAN ON A 100MG MORPHINE ## SA is abreviatd latin term, that basically translates to, int he art of the pharmacy. Its an order froma doctor to the pharmacy to prepare pills in the way in which the pharmacy does it. ## Actually, the SA or SO4 means it's a Sulfate, the actual name of the drug is Morphine Sulfate. This is a very potent narcotic analgesic. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, constipation and dry mouth. It's my understanding that the manufacturers started making ER (extended-release) tablets that have micro encapsulated beads within the pill that prevent the over release of medication. The reason they did that was due to the trend of chopping the pills into powder and insufflating it recreationally, which can be lethal. ## I agree with your logic, especially due to the widespread stance big pharma has taken against drug abusers. A number of other pain medications (such as Oxycodone) have also undergone their own unique preventative measures in recent years. Although I suppose another reason provoking such change might be for cutting manufacturing costs, as they tend to do so frequently all across the board. Do you know if these new extended release tablets are still in "tablet-...

Can this pill be broken in half and taken? 200 mg is very strong. Half of that dose would be more agreeable. Will it still work as it should? Just not as strong? ## Generally, if the medication is not in an extended release form, I don't see why it wouldn't be safe to divide the tablet in half for a smaller dosage. However, this particular tablet does appear to be extended release and therefore I would NOT encourage anyone to tamper with it in any way, even for legitimate reasons. Just to be sure we are on the same page, this is an oblong green pill with [M] on one side and "200" on the other. And it reportedly contains 200mgs of Morphine sulfate SR (slow release). For verification, the manufacturer is listed as Mallinckrodt. It may be best to ask your doctor for a lower...

Can you take Morphine Sulfate ER 15mg with Adderall? I'm scared as hell!... My Dr. pushed the Morphine on me over taking just Hydrocodone 10/325... & this concerns me :/ ## My doc insisted on switching me from 5-325 Norco to Morphine Sulfate as well, and it was the WORST thing that's happened to me, EVER. He felt that it was best to switch to the supposedly long-acting Morphine rather than increase my dose of Norco (I had been on the lowest possible dose of Norco--5-325--for about EIGHT years, so this would have been the very first dosage increase in all those years. It's certainly not like I had kept asking for more pills or bigger doses or anything but none the less, he felt it was better to switch to Morphine instead of slightly increasing the Norco.) Morphine is SUBS...

I am in the marine corp and was prescribed Oxycodone 5mg for an injury and on a drug test i tested positive for morphine. i have never taken or been given morphine. i have done research and have documents saying that oxycodone can make a false positive for morphine. does anyone else have other info about this situation, cuz the more the better to support my case. thank you ## Hi Jay, It is definitely well-known that on the cheaper, less reliable drug tests, it seems as though anything is likely to show up. From my perspective, drug testing facilities like to put the blame on "you" for their own mistake. They define it as a 'false-positive' as opposed to a 'mistake' on their part, to take the liability away from them and back on you, the patient for "taking so...

But yes, they are often prescribed together for those that are experiencing intractable pain from a possibly fatal condition, and both FDA and NIH studies have not found them to hasten death, in such cases, they just help the person be more comfortable in their final days. However, they do warn that if someone survives such conditions, they do carry the risk of being habit forming. theres 3 diff kinds all capsules 1 is pink 2 is all white and 3 is half white half green no markings to identify them i was told it was morphine but im not sure ## Half green and white but no imprints on pill . ## If there are no markings, there is no way to be sure what they contain, unless you could actually have them lab tested. Under current U.S. law, all manufactured prescription products are required to have unique imprints to enable their identification. If a tablet or capsule does not have any markings, it could be an over the counter product, a foreign medication, or something that was specially ordered by a doctor and created by a compounding pharmacy. I just want to know if it's time released or not? ## I'm sorry, but I can't really provide you with any information on just the color. Are there any markings on the pill? Generic Morphine Tablets ## I need to know if there is a 65 mg morphine tablet asap? I have only seen 100mg and 60mg. ## You can view more information on Morphine and its generics at this link And Curious, no, there is no 65mg tablet available.
