I do not know if it would be safe to take these, and I do not know who to ask, since it is the Canada Day Holiday, and these pills are over 6 years old, as it is currently July/11. ## To clarify...I ordinarily do have a current prescription, but I forgot to ask the last time I was in at my pain specialist, just a week ago. As a result I went searching for relief and came across an old bottle. Also, I did end up taking the pills, and I unfortunately started throwing up about an half hour afterwards. And the pills did not seem to relieve the pain, but that might be because it di...
People in Tennessee who are in pain management or are being prescribed pain meds are no aware of all the new laws that went into effect July, 1. 2013. I have been with the same Dr. for nearly three years, he told me last month about these changes and that I would have to see him at his new pain clinic for the month of July. Before I could see him I had to go through all the red tape,. everyone at the pain clinic was aware of me coming in, they all knew me by name even though it was my first visit. I had to talk to a law enforcement official who finger printed me, took my picture, did a background check and preformed a drug test, checked me for needle marks, etc. all this before I could see my Dr. Oh yeah, and I had to pay up too. Once I got to see my doctor we talked about all these cha...
I'm coming thru a reduction of morphine SR 100mg down to 60mg. This has been hell as ive never ever known before. Im wondering if I can try and reduce further by 10mg at a time over the next 5 years? I am so afraid now that as I become older and not able to control the situation that some Dr will come into the picture and just reduce me as this last Dr has done. I was on 100mg for 25years for chronic back pain. I still have the back pain but finding not as bad as it was in the first 10 years following injury. I know I cant get through the PAWS again. I have no family or support here in the country i now live. Please can you advise me? Has anyone reading here suffered severe abdominal pain, anxiety and no sleep barely when reducing their long-term morphine pain meds by half? I'm ...
UpdatedDoes anyone know if 2 15mg morphine tabs would be equal to 1 30mg oxycodone. Both are immediate release. I have been on the 30's but due to my upcoming surgery my Dr. feels that I need stronger pain med's. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. ## Actually, the Oxycodone is one and a half time stronger than Morphine, so to equal 30mgs of the Oxycodone would require 45mgs of the Morphine. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Could u tell me if oxycodone ir and morphine ir appear as the same thing on a drug panel? ## How long does 15mg morphine stay in sysyem ## Lord please let those that abuse their pills or medications be taken off their meds. I'm just pissed off because I've got a back & spine so bad if you heard each issue you would wonder why I don't...
my mother got her medcine and old medcine mixed up ## If your pill has the imprint E655 on front and 60 on back you have Morphine Extended Release 60mg. This is a very, very powerfull narcotic pain med. If you do not have a tolerance to this amount of morphine, you can easily OD and well to be blunt DIE. ## does this pill have an M inside of a box on one side of it and a #30 on the other side of the pill? I found a pill that looks like this and someone told me it was a 30mg morphine tablet. ## The message above was an error. It has a 60 on the other side of it, not a 30. Sorry ## I guess I was wrong on my other post as well. M 60 Morphine Extended Release Morphine ER 60mg Made by Malinckrodt Pharmaceutical ## if it is whit and small it is a perc 30 very strong and if its ur first time t...
How long after taking a 15mg morphine sulfate pill should I wait until I take a 1mg clonazepam? It has been 5hrs since I have taken the morphine. My doctor does prescribe both of them to me. I would just like to be safe about it. ## You should have no problem taking them together. I take 1 mg of Klonopin and 30 mg of oxycodone at the same time. Sam ## It can vary from person to person. It really depends on how your body reacts to each medication. Some people can take them both together, but some may experience too many side effects. The FDA warns that both carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and irritability. What is your current dose spacing? ## How long should i wait to take my 1mg klonapin after taking my 30mg morphin...
what are the strengths and colors of morphine pill ## Since this is available as a generic, I can't possibly list them all for you, the colors of various strengths and formulations depend upon the whit and whim of the manufacturer. Are there any markings on the tablet in question? Can you please post back and clarify? The FDA lists this medication as carrying the risk of being habit forming, and it may cause the risk of causing other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, dry mouth, and headache.
round light green ## What is morphine used for ## To the original poster, did you mean Morphine? Morphine is a narcotic analgesic that is used to moderate to severe pain. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
white ## Round Tablet A ----- 349 Round Tablet with above on one side ## To the original poster, are there any markings on it? The FDA requires prescription tablets to have unique markings to enable their ID, in case of emergency. Can you please post back and clarify? Michael, that tablet is manufactured by Actavis Elizabeth, they list it as containing 5mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a generic for Percocet. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
I am in the marine corp and was prescribed Oxycodone 5mg for an injury and on a drug test I tested positive for Morphine. I have never taken or been given Morphine. I have done research and have documents saying that Oxycodone can make a false positive for Morphine. Does anyone else have other info about this situation, because the more info the better to support my case. Thank you. ## Hi jay, Because oxycodone and morphine are both opiates, I do believe that they can easily be mistaken for one another on the cheaper, less reliable drug tests; where it seems as though they lack the sensitivity to distinguish beyond the basic structures of the drug class vs. the drug name. From my perspective, drug testing facilities like to put the blame on "you" for their own mistake. They defi...
Pls I'd like to know if crushing the pill would make it work faster.. ## No, it is not safe to crush them! The ER means that it is a time released tablet, so crushing or breaking it could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once, which creates the risk of overdose. They must be swallowed whole. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes... lick coating off then crush it...but fair warning that it could hit ya super hard and possibly od so be careful ## You will survive chewing a morphine er 15. Very low dosage. If your body is used to opiates you will be fine. But it is n...
what doest it look like ## There is no 1.5mg Morphine available as a prescription tablet, or capsule. Did you possibly mean 15mgs? What are the markings on the ones in question? That would enable me to research more information for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
I am a 32 yr old woman on 65mls of methadone. I have been on it for the past 10 yrs. I get dosed the pink liquid sometimes and sometimes the yellow syrup. Is there any chance morphine will show up in Victoria's DHHS's supervised urine drug screens? I'm also taking Xanax and a antidepressent called Lovan. It's basically a cheaper brand for prosac or from the same family, but that's all I take. The problem is i have had morphine show up in not all but many times in my drug urine tests. Can anyone please help me out as im in family court and do not take morphine and it's showing up. Is this possible or any other reason why morphine would be showing up as i do not take morphine or heroin? ## I'm wondering too. I am clean and on methadone also. Recently my test ca...
I live in Columbus, IN and I've been taking pain meds since 2001 and my pain doctor is trying to make me wear a pain pump and I have a pacemaker defibrillator and I don't want that. I have heard nothing but bad things about pain pumps. So I am looking for a new Dr... Can anybody help me please? ## I have been on every med available for pain since 1986. I had two passion pumps installed a year apart. 1 St was a morphine pump at max dosage. Didn't work for me. The 2nd was a cocktail pump w/ morph, muscle relaxant and anti-inflammatory meds. Doc removed it in 3 months due to it not achieving desired effect. They suck without something for breakthrough pain. Hope it helps u and good luck. Not recommended by me at all ## I understand there is a pain implant available that takes a...
I have tried every where to find out how many milligrams are released and how often in a controlled release 60 mg MS Contin pill... If I take a 60 mg controlled release MS Contin, is 5mg released every hour or is 15mg released every 2 hours? That was just an example so I am understood. Thank you. ## Are you taking the name brand, or a generic? The answer can vary depending on who has manufactured the tablets in question. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Generally, there is a steady release rate, but it can also depend on how much fluids you are taking in, your stomach acid, and etc.
AFTER POSTING ON THIS SITE IN DESPERATION AND FINDING I AM NOT ALONE, ITS TIME TO ACT ON THIS DISCRIMINATION ON PAIN IN OUR COUNTRY. IT'S UNBELIEVABLE THAT IN THE US WE ARE BEING FORCED TO BE TORTURED WHEN THERE ARE MEDICATIONS SUPPLIED THAT CAN HELP, THAT ARE BEING WITH HELD FROM USE. YOU WOULD NEVER SEE THIS IN ANOTHER COUNTRY LET ALONE THE USA. THE LAND OF THE FREE THE HOME OF THE BRAVE. I DON'T FEEL VERY BRAVE ANYMORE OR FREE: I FEEL HOPELESS, I AM IN CONSTANT PAIN. HAVE ALREADY HAD 1 ATTEMPT TO TAKE MY LIFE DUE TO PAIN AND THE LACK OF PAIN CONTROL. I WAS GIVEN AN ANTI DEPRESSANT AFTER BOTCH SURGERIES THAT HAD FAR WORSE SIDE EFFECTS THAN ANY PAIN MED I TOOK. IT CAUSED SUICIDAL THOUGHTS. WHICH WE NOW NO IS A SIDE EFFECT. OUR COUNTRY HANDS OUT ANTI DEPRESSANTS LIKE CANDY. MEDI...
I'm a vet and have been on opiates for 15yrs. The reg. meds I'm on have been working for 7 yrs with no changes (90 mg sr morphine + 8 of 5/325 oxys + 3 59mg tramadol + gabapentin). The Va took 90 mg, a whole midday dose and all my tramadol in 1 month. Oh ya, and my .05mg xanax too. Now they wanna use 7.5 mg ir morphine instead of all my percocet. Help me. We vets have to go through a pain clinic now at the Va. All it is, is a doctor taking everything from me. WHAT CAN I DO OR SAY? IM IN PAIN WITH NERVE PAIN. ## Hey, went through the same thing at the va. I went through the choice program and see a real pain management doctor in the civilian sector. Pain in the ass to get approved but it is possible. Write your congressman if you are not seeing progress! Trust me your congressman...
I'm taking 15mg of morphine and my doctor wants to give me percocet due to a recent diagnosis, so I'm kinda wondering if the medication I have now is better or is it about the same? ## Hi Shelly, According to nih.gov, Oxycodone (one of the main active ingredients in Percocet) is said to be approximately 1.5x stronger than Morphine. If this holds true and I did the math correctly, then 7.5mg of Oxycodone would be equal to about 11.25mg of Morphine (7.5 x 1.5 =11.25); and 10mg of Oxycodone would be equal to about 15mg of Morphine (10 x 1.5 =15). The addition of Acetaminophen in Percocet would probably top the 15mg of Morphine if you were prescribed the 10/325 dosage form. I hope this makes sense!? Never the less, you should be able to trust your doctor to prescribe something of si...
Not sure what these are, just looking for answers. It's a tiny red pill but a perfect circle and straight edges like the smarties candy but smaller. They are solid red but soft and the pills stick together. I was told they're for old people. ## In the U.S. prescription medications, such as Morphine, are all required to have unique markings to enable their identification, in case of emergency. Thus, these are most likely something that is available over the count. The FDA warns that Morphine carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are they similar to a gel cap?
Someone has just told me that Gabapentin is the next step up to Morphine. Is this right? ## Simple answer - no. Morphine is an opioid. Gabapentin is generic Neurontin, an anticonvulsant used for pain. Neither Neurontin or gabapentin is an opioid. ## Thanks for that I didn't think it was. I think it was someone being doctor d*** ## Hey Carol, I used to be on opiods for documented pain (as opposed to junkies looking for a high, you know the story) but after the crackdown - even though my GP would still write me scripts for Norco I couldn't get them filled anywhere. I was told that only pain specialists scripts would be filled though others have said that is not necessarily the case. Having a lack of insurance and pain docs not accepting patients without I asked my GP (whom I pay o...
