I've been trying to end my pain. All that happens is I end up in the Hospital time and time again. They send a psych. nurse to talk to me though she seems to never hear what's really going on. It's the same plan each time I get discharged. No help at all. I feel like I'm in a dark hole with no way out?? They keep raising the dose of my Lexapro. Guess what? I feel even more crazy. I feel like there is no one to talk to for help or inpatient help? I'm slowly losing my grasp on reality. Which is very sad because I am a smart educated woman. I'm a semi-retired Pharmacist. So I know all the signs of a person losing touch with reality. This started in April when the migraines from my brain tumor got progressively worse. My tumor is not Cancer but it is inoperable. I...

Hi there How are you? I have been experiencing heart palpitations. After ECG doctors said I have a constant fast heart rate. They prescribed pur-bloka 10mg 3x per day as a temporary thing. They said I might not have to use it permanently, but atleast for the next month or so and then we'll wean off. I am quite scared to use them. Should I be weary? I would also like to know if I can start with half a pill 3x per day? ## Hi There. My doctor prescribed pur bloka and panamor suppositories for my migraines. I am a bit concerned now that I've read up more about the uses for pur bloka. Should I continue taking the pur bloka to prevent migraine? ## It is always best to take the medication(s) as directed by your doctor, it is far more risky to not listen to them and refuse to take the m...

Recently I had a serious migraine and head cold with irritation in my chest. I took an otc cold and sinus medicine and not even a day later I started blowing my nose, but the problem was not only mucus coming out. I noticed that I was having bad nose bleeding and soft tissue was coming out. Please someone tell me what you think this was? I told my doctor and he said since I didn't keep it he wouldn't be able to tell me. This is now happening frequently and I'm not sure what to make of this. If anyone has any ideas on this matter please let me know. ## Have you considered keeping a sample to take to your doctor? That is not a normal occurrence, according to the NIH, it could be something such as Tuberculosis, but only your doctor will be able to give you a definitive diagnosi...

I haven't had a migraine in 8 years, but now have one that has been going on for 2 days. I have an old prescription of Epidrin Cap Excellium that is 8 years old. Is it okay to take this, or would it be dangerous or less effective? ## It will most likely be less effective, so it would be best to dispose of it and see your doctor for a new supply of a medication to alleviate your migraine. The FDA lists the typical side effects for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. Are you on any other medications?

I've taken Fiorinal Butalb/Asa/Caf (Westward pill) for 15 years, it's been very effective for my migraines. Since they've taken the tablet off the market and I can't get the old one anymore, i just filled the RX for the capsule. I haven't taken it yet, I'm nervous about it. Also annoyed as I used to split the tablet in half as I didn't always want to take an entire pill. Has anyone split the capsule? What are overall thoughts/experiences with the green capsules Butalbatol/Aspirin/Caffeine? ## Hello, Sue! How are you? No, it is not safe to split the capsule. As to how well it works, it really varies from person to person. Some have said they work great, but others haven't had good luck with them. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as...

Anybody know.. why they stopped manufacturing fioricets? ## The original Fioricet tabs were manufactured by Watson, but Activas Pharm took it over so I called the company and spoke to them directly regarding the new formulation of the capsules. I spoke to the head of Pharmaceutical Engineering and he explained that, while the main compounds have remained the same, except for the acetaminophen levels going down, the INACTIVE ingredients have changed and there is a SULFA ingredient in this capsule that could render it ineffective if someone (like me) can not metabolize sulfa compounds! Though the website states their change in formulation is due to FDA requests for Tylenol levels, this is not true... they only decreased by 25mg. That was a convenient excuse! Their pharmacy rep explained t...

It does not contain any opioid ingredients like Percocet. Learn more Fioricet details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, stomach irritation and insomnia. Are there any comments or questions? Is there anything I can help with? ## This is not even CLOSE to a Percocet or Percodan. My husband has Alzheimers and became combative at the Memory Care Facility where he lives. They sent him to the hospital which sent him spiraling down to probably late stage ALZ now. They kept him on lots of haldol for about 2 weeks. He couldn't walk anymore, didn't talk, couldn't feed himself and rarely opened his eyes. After trying other meds, they put him on Depakote. He remained there for another 2 weeks weaning off the Haldol and then went back to the facility. He was still in withdrawal and it took another month to get it all out of his system. But as soon as he returned they put him on Depakote only. 1000mg at night, now changed to 250 in the morning and 1000 at night. He is now awake, talking and no longer combative. He just gets agitated when they need to change his...

Hi. I take Fioricet with Codeine approximately once a day to relieve major headaches. It is the ONLY thing that helps. Walgreens just told me it is being discontinued and I am a bit panicked as it is a life changer for me. Regular Fioricet doesn't really help. Any suggestions on what I can try? Next visit with my Neurologist may ask him to get each ingredient separately if I have too. Thanks! ## Hello, Were you ever able to find out why that particular product was being discontinued? I know that you mentioned possibly going the route of getting each ingredient separately from your neurologist, but, if it was discontinued for a good reason (which it probably was), then I would definitely encourage you to try and find out why, before even considering taking it again; at least for your...

I have been on depakote for epilepsy since about 2004. For the past 3 years I was taking 250mg everyday and sometimes every other day. I recently did an EEG and it came out normal. I started weaning of the meds to just every 5 days and recently every week. I notice on about the 6th or 7th day I feel light headed, anxiety, a bit dizziness that comes and goes. I also get sensitive to sounds. I will take 250 mg when I feel that and the symptoms go away. Haven't had a seizure since 2009. Anybody have advice or have felt the same symptoms after that time? ## Hello, Mary! How are you? Withdrawal effects like that are normal, when you are tapering off, or stopping such a medication, according to the NIH. There may also be a risk of seizures, so you do need to be very careful and taper it v...

i m suffering from migraine problem since last 4 years. Dr. had advised me to eat betacap plus 10 and tryptomer daily. ## Hi, I have been prescribed betacap 20 mg and tryptomer 10 for throbbing headaches. Although the pain has reduced, still there are signs of the same throbbing if i run for a while or do some strenuous work like climbing a flight of stairs. I also have heavy head all day. Even getting excited results in pain. Please advise if this is normal?

I take multiple fioricets on a daily basis for cluster migraine headaches. Will it show up as THC or an opiate on a hair follicle drug test? ## One of the good things about hair drug testing is that it is good at differentiating between substances. Fioricets should not cause a false positive for THC or Opiates.

Hi! I've been taking fioricet with codeine for six years!! I started with two pills a day (along with a ton of other meds) and now I'm up to five. My dosage is at 325-30-30. This is the ONLY medicine that works and will keep my migraines at bay. They are NOT rebound headaches, I do know the difference. I'm wondering if there is something stronger or a slow release or something else that I can take so I don't feel like an addict to this medication. Because frankly I am! I can't go two days without it or one, my migraines with debilitate me and 2, I loose my cognitive functions. Any advice is welcome. ## I am very sorry about your migraines, they are a horrible thing to suffer. However, I think you may benefit from my explaining the difference between addiction and dep...

However, your doctor cannot force you to take any medication and you are also free, at any time, to consult another doctor to get another opinion. Have you been working with a special...
