In one of my rx is sodium hydroxide. Every time I take this , I get a migraine for days. What are the side effects if this PH balancer in my injection? ## Hi, Char! Very sorry about the migraines, that's terrible! Usually, these types of things are used because they're considered inactive and side effect free. However, as you've personally experienced, you can still be sensitive to one of them and I believe that's most likely what you're experiencing. Have you talked to your doctor about it? I'm not sure if you can find one that doesn't contain it, but there may be a way to try to prevent the migraines. ## Yes, I have seen 3 drs. None of them knew that this was what was causing them. My pharmacist and I figure it out. I took a name brand rx had no problems. t...

I grind my teeth, day and night. I use a guard at night and suffer from major migraine headaches where I need injection against the pain and vomiting. I have found that Botox can help TMJ and I know that its the principal cause of my migraine... Can you recommend any other treatment apart from Botox injection or muscle relaxer.

I need to know if this is safe cause I ran out of depakote and feel like I'm gonna have an episode ## Hi, Scott! How are you? I didn't find any interactions listed between the two medications, but they are quite different, so the best thing to do would be to contact your doctor for a refill on your Depakote. Can Bupap tabs help with lortab 7.5 withdrawal symptoms. Been taking up to 6 lortab 7.5 daily for about year. Ready to stop. ## Hi Margaret, I have read some reports of people using Bupap (Butalbital) to assist with opiate/narcotic withdrawal. Some say it helps, some say it doesn't. When it comes to withdrawal, it is most important that you seek the advice of a medical professional so that they can help you taper off your medication and go through the withdrawal process as safely as possible. In addition, staying hydrated, exercising (being active in some way), and eating a clean diet can certainly aid your body in detoxing faster by helping to flush your lymphatic system of all the unnecessary toxins. I hope this helps, good luck to you!

I have Ulcerative Colitis. Had a Migraine, took a Butal Caf and felt normal 1st time in 2 years! Ever heard of this? Also I have NO side effects from Butal. ## Hi Lainy, Based on my research, the combination of butalbital + acetaminophen + caffeine is intended as a treatment for tension headache. It is also commonly prescribed for migraines and other pain related ailments - although it is "not FDA indicated" for these uses in the U.S. On another note, the prescribing information for this drug recommends contacting your doctor before using this medication if you happen to have any abdominal/stomach problems (such as: stomach ulcer, colitis). From what I'm seeing, it's hard to say if those with colitis should even be taking this medication, but if you sense that it's w...

I cannot take asperin so I take asperin-free excedrin. I want to know why it and all excedrin was taken off the market. Also when if ever will it be available to buy again. Nothing else helps me. I have tried Aleve but doesn't do the job as good as the above. ## The Excedrin products were recalled due to problems that the FDA found with their manufacturing facility, which may have caused the products to be contaminated. Product has been shut down and there is, at this time, no word on when it will resume. As to an alternative that may help, have you tried asking your doctor to help you find something? My husband has schitzo-affective disorder. The Depakote has helped him to remain somewhat stable with less manic episodes. However, recently, he was changed from 3000 mgs of Depakote (1000 every 8 hours) to 1000 of ER Depakote only at night....a reduction of 2000 mg daily. The first prescription was not ER. However, he remains grandiose and my question: Will the ER be stronger than the regular one? Have their been stats to indicate that some people do better on the regular Depakote rather than the ER? Is it true that 1000 mg is per 100 pounds. My husband weighs 200 pounds and it seems like he would be on 2000 mg rather than 1000 mg. ## No, the ER just means it's time released, but that doesn't make it any stronger, so he's definitely on a lower dosage. And no, the dosage is ...

This pill is medium sized white oblong with RDY on one side and 392 on the other. I am wondering what it is. ## Based on the description provided, the closest match I'm finding is identified as Sumatriptan succinate 50 mg; which is used for the treatment of migraine headaches. This particular pill is white, round with RDY on one side and 292 on the other. Manufacturer: Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Inc. National Drug Code (NDC): 55111-0292 I figure if this doesn't match your pill, they must at least be manufactured by the same company. Im on pain management contract do i need to put down sumatriptan on paper because it will show up possitive for anything other than what my morphine shows up as on my u.a? Or do i even have to list it because it has nothing to do with my leg and reason im on contract? ## To always be on the safe side, list ALL medications you have taken, including over the counter meds like pseudafed, etc. if you don't and it shows up, the doc will think you are trying to hide something. Usually they have you list anything taken in the last 24 hours.

White triangular pill. Blank on one side and s50 on the other ## Hello, The closest match I've been able to find is Sumatriptan succinate (50 mg). Sumatriptan is indicated for the treatment of migraine headaches. It is a white triangle pill with the imprint S on one side and 50 on the other. Since this is such a close match, it could very well be your pill- but possibly made by a different pharmacy who gave it a slightly different imprint. Manufacturer: Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Inc. National Drug Code (NDC): 55111-0736 You can learn more about this drug on the page for Sumatriptan Details I hope this helps!

side effects of butalbital ## I WHANT TO KNOW WHAT IS BUTALBITAL APAP FOR A HAVE AN STROCK 3 YEARS A GO AND IM STEEL HAVE PAIN IN MY LEFT SIDE OF MY BODY CAN THIS PILL HELPME FOR THAT? ## Butalbital is a barbiturate, it's often combined with Acetaminophen and used to treat pain and headache. You can learn more Butalbital details here and you can learn more Acetaminophen details here. However, I don't know if would treat the type of pain that Tinita was asking about, since it's hard to guess at what may be causing her pain. If it's due to pinched nerves or damaged nerves, then such a medication may not work that well to help. Side effects to this medication may include dizziness, drowsiness, sedation and euphoria. headaches ## are these narcotic ## are Fioricet 50-325-40 a narcotic ## I am wondering t he same thing have you found out yet ## There are 2 different variations of Fioricet that are available. The one asked about here that only lists the dosage of 3 medications does not contain a narcotic, it only contains Acetaminophen, Butalbital and Caffeine. Learn more Fioricet details here. The other is noted as being Fioricet with Codeine, it would list 4 dosage amounts, so it just adds the Codeine to the ingredients I've already listed. Learn more Codeine details here. Your prescription, or the bottle and monograph from the pharmacy should list exactly what it is that you have been prescribed. Are there any other questions? Anything else I can help with?

I was just prescribed this medication, but I cannot swallow pills, can I crush it and then take it? ## Yes, there is no time released formulation from what I can find listed, so it should be fine to do so, unless there are some specific instructions on the prescription, or from your doctor directing you not to do so. ## just wondering the side effects ## what are the exact contents of this capsule? ## #1Butalbiltol, which is a actual barbituate is to help you kinda relieve your nervousness and stress(kinda chill-out a little), since it's mainly those two culprits that give you those damn tension headaches and migraines so freakin' bad!! I guess the medical community THOUGHT, anyway, that it was gonna work like a charm, but my two biggest complaints about Butalbitol is : (1) If you take the Rx as it's prescribed/labeled, the butalbitol part of the pill DOES seem to relieve the stabbing, stress-related pains and throbbing in my head I get in my head, shoulders, and behind my eyes. AT FIRST THEY DO, ANYWAY!! But I swear, it's not one and a 1/2 weeks later...TOPS... that taking only one ...
